  • "This is a fabulous property."

It is very well equipped, spacious and very comfortable and as people have said in previous reviews, the views from the property are stunning. The owners provided a lot of basics eg tea, coffee etc and a welcome pack of milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine, which were all much appreciated. The owners, Helen and Ian, from the farm, are very friendly but the property is not overlooked by the farm house. We did lots of walking in the nearby area, some walks from our doorstep. The road up to the farm is quite steep but manageable. If you want to go out a lot in the evenings, the road maybe an issue but if you are happy to stay in and cook for yourselves, the location of this property is fantastic.

  • "Absolutely lovely place to stay albeit it a bit challenging with the steepness of the lane and road in and out, my only very minor criticism would be there is no electric shaver/toothbrush point in the shower room and we had to go and buy a plug in adaptor."

Fantastic views and very comfortable accommodation and welcome from the owner Helen with the bottle of wine and biscuits. Will stay again for sure

  • "Toot view is a wonderful place to stay and the views are outstanding."

It is generally very spacious although the bedrooms are quite small. However, they are well equipped with storage and we found them to be very comfortable. Some extra crockery and cutlery would be useful. We kept running out of mugs! It was only a minor inconvenience. The outdoor space and furniture was great and we enjoyed eating outside. The drive up to Toot View is a bit of a challenge and we weren’t prepared for how steep and bumpy it was in places. The location is great for visits to beautiful places like the Long Mynd and the town of Ludlow.

  • "Really beautiful and secluded spot."

The view was amazing, the accommodation spacious, comfortable and immaculate. The hosts were very friendly, helpful but not intrusive in any way, they were very kind and generous to show our small children some of the animals on their farm also. The kids were safe because the property grounds are well fenced, lots of space to enjoy sitting on the patio to enjoy the weather. We were sad to leave and hope to return.

  • "We had a really lovely experiences at Toot View, The views, property, and property location are exceptional."

Our stay was a literal balm to the soul... and the owners very kindly assisted us. Having mobility issues my wife did find the access to Toot View challenging, but do-able with help from me, the ramp was steep for her, as were the access steps to the property. The main bedroom bed had a foam mattress which did not provide sufficient comfort/rest for my wife, which was a shame, she slept on the sofa in the lounge during our stay (which proved to be far more comfortable). (My wife has issues with her spine) The lounge, Sofa, Armchairs, Dining, Patio Furniture are all excellent. the furniture all in very good condition and of good quality... The bathroom is large, with lots of good quality fluffy soft towels, the shower is an excellent size. The kitchen too is well equipped and well provisioned. We would definitely visit Toot View again, (bringing a portable mattress topper for my wife), this would not put us off, we have only mentioned the issues my wife had in-case any future visiting party has members with Mobility/Spine Issues, so that they can litigate for these.

When we first walked in we thought wow. You feel quite isolated because of the drive when you arrive through the conifer wood and then the view, but the owners are reassuringly nearby. Ideally placed for local visits including Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth with very good eateries.

  • "What a beautiful place."

Having sheep and lambs on your front door and a spectacular view made our holiday very special. Enjoyed many cups of tea looking at the landscape. The highlight of the actual house is how spacious it is. I don't actually think the photos represent the house properly and more emphasis should be put on the view and how big the living area is. The kids loved the bunk bed, its all they talk about. I have staycationed for many years and this is the first time I truly went off the main road and away from it all. There is a hiking trail on your doorstep and a huge woodland that the kids loved to play in. The hosts took the family around their farm and showed is all the animals. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them. In all honesty I can't believe this place was so cheap in comparison to what is on offer here. I think Sykes are too focussed on the luxuries of life and have forgotten what really adds value to a place. Thank you Helen and Ian, I hope to be back soon.

The cabin has everything you need and it was beautiful, decorated to a high standard. There is lots of patio space to eat outside and have barbecues, plenty of parking near the cabin. The access road to the cabin is quite steep but we found it fine to negotiate, the cabin is situated on a farm and it was lovely to see the cows grazing in the fields, it was also a bonus to see a cow give birth and care for her calf. We would highly recommend staying here and you won’t be disappointed. The cabin is also close to areas to visit.

About the location

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
