  • "The cottage is small but cosy."

I was warm without the central heating on, and the occasional blast from the electric fire. Beautifully clean and great modern furnishing. The kitchen had everything I needed along with a pint of milk in the fridge. The bed was super comfy and clean and the bath was amazing!!! I liked having real plants around too. As other people have said, the cottage IS on a main road, which can be noisy, but only at certain times. I was able to pull up outside to unload (the kerb is dropped there), and parked a minute walk away. The picture of the bus stop was a brilliant marker when I arrived!!! The stairs in the cottage are quite steep and curl round quite sharply, so if you are a bit wobbly on your legs, it might be harder to get upstairs, but there is a solid handrail, and also a grab handle at the top to keep hold of. Overall, a really lovely stay with some good walking in the Peak District.

Thank you Aly for your honest and lovely feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Snug and we would love to welcome you back again! Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay at the Snug."

It was fresh and very clean, one of the cleanest places i have stayed, everything you need is there. I was travelling solo (with my cocker ) and we travelled everywhere by train. There is also a regular bus service, and some lovely walks from the cottage. A short distance to Matlock, Cromford, Belper Ambergate and many more. The Snug is in an ideal place stay and has many options for exploring. The little extras were really appreciated. Communication with Kirsty was excellent.

Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Snug and you managed to easily explore the beautiful area around us! We hope to welcome you back again someday! Property Owner

  • "What a gem!"

We stayed at the Snug for four nights. Set in a lovely location (although on a main road so noisy but this didn’t bother us). It was immaculately clean. You would have no idea it was pet friendly if it wasn’t for the dog bowls and treats left. Kitchen well equipped with good quality utensils etc. the bathroom is gorgeous with fantastic shower. Bath mats and towels available. The bedroom is lovely with just what you need (including a fan as it was very warm weather). Very comfortable bed. A pint of milk was in the fridge and some sachets of tea, coffee and sugar which was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt it was an ideal location to go off exploring.

  • "Beautiful cottage style terraced, immaculately clean."

Owner accommodated an earlier check in which was appreciated. Great location with walk into Duffield & shops/pubs. Lovely courtyard with table & chairs. Dog friendly with treats bowls etc. Tea,coffee & milk most welcomed. Don’t bother with local Chinese terrible. We enjoyed Mercia marina, Ashbourne, Bakewell. Only down side was the main road unfortunately speed limit not being adhered too making it very noisy, unable to sleep with window open (fan provided). Also unable to park to unload as double white lines, on bend & dangerous. Parking available nearby at road leading to golf course.

Thankyou Louise for your lovely feedback. I too wished the road was somewhat less busy but unfortunately that's out of my control. unloading outside is possible but do appreciate it's very much down to personal preference. I'm really pleased you've enjoyed your stay overall and enjoyed the local area and The Snug itself. Property Owner

  • "I had a great time at The Snug."

The owners were brilliant with their communication with me before and during my stay and helped me greatly. If I ever needed anything then they were there for me but otherwise left me to enjoy my stay. A fantastic location, central Duffield with great links to the city or going out to Belper, Bakewell and Matlock. Everything within a comfortable distance. The Snug is immaculately clean and the furnishing is very nice. It’s massively spacious. Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine for longer stays. A Smart TV both in the lounge area and bedroom is a very nice inclusion so you can enjoy your time in The Snug when not going out. I would not hesitate to book again in the future and look forward to coming back. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

  • "I couldn't fault it and wanted for nothing at the property."

Comfortable stay, our dog was well catered for and felt at home straight away. Lovely enclosed sun trap at the back. It was great for breakfast in the morning. Close to all amenities pubs, restaurants and shops with additional towns and walks just short drive away. Steam railway is a must! If there is any negative ,it was the noise from the traffic at busy periods during the day, I must emphasise though that this did not mar our break at all. All in all, we had a fabulous stay and would love to come back some day soon.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback Gary! I'm so pleased you had a lovely time and we look forward to welcoming you all back some day. Property Owner

  • "It was a lovely cosy cottage."

Very practical for walking and for our dog. Everything we needed was provided. The shower was fab and I can imagine that it would be very cosy in the winter with the fire. We liked the outdoor area and the little table for breakfast there. The cottage is in a good position for the village - we walked to family there and to the coffee shop. A great deal of thought has gone into making a welcoming space - practical but tasteful, and very comfortable. We are planning to visit again many times if they'll have us!

Thank you Tracey. What fabulous feedback. We will absolutely welcome you back whenever your ready! Property Owner

  • "Beautiful little cottage right on the edge of town with lots of lovely walks, sights and dog friendly pubs within a short walk."

The cottage itself was perfect for what we needed, included all the little extras such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk and even an Easter egg for us and some treats for the dog! Kirsty was very accommodating and let us know we could arrive a little earlier if we wanted to which was very thoughtful, and even allowed us an extra 2hrs at check out time (this was very welcome after a busy weekend and losing an hour to the clocks going forward!) We would absolutely recommend this lovely little cottage to anyone! The only bit of negative feedback we could give is that there was no toilet brush in the bathroom (a very minor inconvenience), everything else was perfect!

Everything we needed, great location if you want big town of Derby or the small villages in surrounding areas. We didn’t do Derby as just wanted to relax and stumble across smaller quieter places. Would definitely recommend! We had perfect sunny autumnal weather all week and even extended our stay an extra night, very accommodating to this! Will be returning.
