"Incredible cottage in the Peak District."
5 mins drive from a beautiful old English village, surrounded by hills and an amazing view from the garden. This is an incredible stay and I can’t recommend it more. The hosts were extremely accommodating to us and answered our questions quickly. Thanks again guys

"We had a fantastic time staying at Gag Aye."
It had everything we needed for a week away! Amazing views and the recent extension is a great addition to what is already a wonderful place to stay. Thankyou Jenny and Nigel! Enjoy your retirement!!
-
"Excellent location, isolated with great views."
Fully enclosed garden. Everything you'd need for a great stay was within the property. Recent extension completed, which includes a new main bathroom. Great for a peaceful relaxing break, all amenities within a 5 min drive.

"Gag Aye Farm is a wonderful property, the garden is fantastic our dog loved it and we enjoyed bird watching!"
The cottage is in a great location away from busy roads/traffic/noise so it was lovely to sit in the garden enjoying the views but its not far from Longnor (the General store there is very convenient for logs and food shopping) and Buxton or the Tissington Trail are not far either. The property owners are also great and were easily contactable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gag Aye Farm and cannot wait to go back.

"We left after one night."
Overwhelming smell of smoke from the broken chimney stack. White stone walls in the sitting room are grey with it. Mould spores everywhere, behind beds, corners, windows etc. Leak in utility so floor had puddles. Sheets hadn’t been changed. Stained and wrinkled so called owner and told where sheets were (locked in eaves, sitting on floor with mouse traps and mould on walls). Mould in eaves wardrobe. Dirty kitchen, oven. Uncomfortable beds. Vintage one unsafe as not bolted together tightly and moves. Sofa dirty and cushions paper thin. Had shower and flooded downstairs toilet out and that was the last straw. Obviously happened before as ceilings have old water stains. Got refund for remaining 6 nights but really upsetting. Took photos and shared with Sykes. Only saving grace is the glorious location.

"A lovely property full of character in a superb location."
The only fault I can think of is that some of the internal doors are quite ill fitting and need attention. Also the front door was very stiff and the keys hard to turn. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"We had a perfect stay, the cottage was lovely and the birds, the wildlife, and surrounds made it a great holiday."
The main purpose for our stay was to go to Chatsworth Xmas fair which was a great day out. The property owner had informed us of the potholes in the road so no surprises there.

"Fantastic property and location, with glorious views around the valley!"
The house and grounds could do with some TLC, but this does stop Gag Aye Farm being a unique holiday experience!
-
"We had a fabulous time."
It was in such a beautiful spot.
-
"Superb position overlooking surroundings."
Very well equipped and comfortable.
-
"Stunning character cottage in a truly remote location."
Great communication with the owners prior to arrival. Planning our next stay already. Reccomend.

"Immersion heater was a problem for a day, quickly sorted."
We also had a visiting frog in the kitchen one evening, probably because it was warm enough to have front door open, soon put him back outside. As we arrived in the dark it may be a good idea to paint the name of the farm in brighter writing so can be seen from the road, we drove straight past it first time. Pillows, mattress and duvet were so comfortable !! We all had an enjoyable time, and were outside a lot thanks to super weather and lovely countryside.
Thanks for this. You'll be glad to hear that we have taken your advice and painted the lettering in white on the stone! Property Owner

Allow the chef of the group to get acquainted in the kitchen, utilising all the mod cons required to whip up something good, while the rest of the group prepare the dining table with crockery and cutlery or browse through the selection of DVDs ready for a family film night after dinner.
Step outside and enjoy a moment in the patio garden, featuring large patio tables and chairs for alfresco dining, plus a barbecue for those summer afternoons; the outdoor space is perfect for a moment of peace, whether that be with a book in your hand, or simply admiring the view of Chrome Hill.
As the night rolls in, retreat upstairs to the bedrooms, including the master with a double bed and en-suite shower room, a standard double and a twin with a single and a cabin bed, ideal for the little ones.
Serving the bedrooms is the ground-floor bathroom with a bath and shower over, a basin and a WC.
Your nearest amenities can be found in Longnor, a welcoming market village with a few pubs, shops, a fish and chip shop and cafés available, ideal for stopping off at after a long afternoon ramble.
Amble along the River Manifold before jumping in the car and exploring the surrounding wonders; take a trip to Bakewell where you can sample the iconic tasty treat of a Bakewell Tart, as well as there being a bustling outdoor market every Monday where you can pick up fresh local produce for your family meals.
If you’re travelling during the summer months, look out for the Bakewell Carnival Week and Well Dressing in July and the Bakewell Show in August!
Those feeling energetic can explore the Monsal Trail, a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales.
