  • "Had great time at 16 Long Row."

All spaces were great. Heating was easy. The double bed on the first floor was very springy and we had to move to the room above. Once we did that we slept like logs. Will definitely be back.

Thank you very much .I am very pleased you had a good time and would love to see you again Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the historic cottage."

Well situated close to the town center, all the shops and pubs/ restaurants. Very good bus service in the area. The cottage was clean and well equipped, we didn't miss anything. Instructions indeed would have been very welcome (for devices like heating etc) Parking directly in the front of the house, very convenient. As the road is historic too, it is very bumpy, so no through traffic. All drivers there are very carefully. It was no problem at all. Thank for the lovely stay.

Thank you .Very glad you enjoyed your stay.I will get some instructions for the heating they seem to have gone missing.Hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The road is quite tricky, and tight."

Our car was scratched quite badly due to this. On the photos it does not show what the actual full road looks like so I would say the photo is deceiving. The property itself was georgous and cosy and comfortable, however we did not feel it was very clean. The number of cobwebs and spiders everywhere really let the place down. We found 2 used face masks under the bedroom on the top floor, which was really off putting. The previous people that stayed clearly could not be asked to dispose of thier used face masks in the bin and decided to throw them behind the bed. This obviously was not spotted when it was being cleaned for our stay. We had to dispose them and gave the bedroom a good vaccum. Some of the dishes were dirty, the teapot was filthy and the bathroom/toilet was also not very clean. Bed in bedroom in first floor not comfortable at all, very noisy and squeaky, however bed in top floor was very comfortable. But overall a good comfortable and cosy stay and close to some beautiful spots, the garden was lovely.

  • "The property was very nice."

Everything you would need was there. Having 2 holiday cottages for over 19 years I would say a folder with information regarding emergency numbers. Hospital, doctors, dentists, nearest supermarket’s. Also regarding leaving the property. Where they would like towels & used bedding left is always useful. A comments book as well.

  • "A light outside front door would be useful."

Two sets of keys would also be useful. Landlady was very nice. Fresh linens/towels weekly. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • "The house is beautiful, the old building has been renovated sympathetically and with great taste."

There are all the facilities you would need, including a large basket of wood for the wood burner should it get cold and a long garden for summer sitting out. The location of the house is very convenient, just off the high street with its vast amount of restaurants and pubs as well as the old mill and its surrounding park. The building is one of the mill workers cottages and so has great character and is on a steep narrow street that you will need to traverse with care. Parking is no issue, we could park directly outside the house. I would highly recommend this for a break.

  • "This has to be the nicest holiday cottage I’ve ever stayed in."

We enjoyed our stay so much we didn’t want to leave. Will be very keen to return. Belper is such a lovely town, with beautiful buildings and an excellent variety of shops and 2 grass play parks. The house had everything we needed and was so cosy that we quickly felt at home. We will very much look forward to returning. Many thanks

  • "16 Long Row is the most perfect little cottage anyone could ask for."

We stayed for 11 nights and were very sad to leave. The 2 bedrooms were spacious with high quality sheets and duvet. The kitchen has a larger fridge which allows for storing more than the normal (under counter) fridge. The dining table was the perfect size for the space. We sat in the back garden often - there's a table and very comfortable chairs out there. The lounge has a little log burner and a tele with internet so we were able to stream Netflix. It really was a perfect stay.

Thank you very much for your feedback. So glad you enjoyed yourselves, I hope to maybe see you again in the future. Property Owner

We were out all day, every day, for our stay here but I could’ve quite easily sat in that garden for a day of that. We do go this way every now and then and try not to stay in the same place twice, but will make an exception for this one.

The property is in beautiful condition throughout and had absolutely everything we needed, plus some extra welcoming touches! It was an easy journey to both Matlock and the pretty town of Ashbourne. Walking into Belper takes 5-10 minutes with some great pubs/restaurants and bars on the way. We loved getting back after a day of exploring and lighting the fire. Couldn’t fault this property or location and we will be looking to return next year. Thank you for such a relaxing break in your beautiful cottage.
