"Queen Anne’s Close is a beautiful property, tastefully decorated and with a big garden."
The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Although it didn’t negatively impact on our stay, it could do with some general maintenance: both gates don’t easily open/close and there are several holes in the walls, varying in size. Some walls could do with a lick of paint. Overall though, we had a great stay and would happily revisit.

"Good property in a good location with a nice garden, however a few issues to mention as follows:- 1."
On arrival, found a left over take away in fridge plus items of food in freezers 2. Wet hand towels and tea towels left around kitchen to dry, fortunately we brought some with us as there were no dry ones available in the house for use 3. Bedding from previous rental left in front porch and not collected until Wednesday (day 5 of our stay) 4. Several items of clothing left on kitchen bench

"Welcome pack was very disappointing, as no fresh milk, just leftovers from previous occupants including a week out of date bottle."
I felt the cleaning must have been rushed as things still in dishwasher as well as dusty floors, especially dusty under beds and furniture. No instructions on how to use gas central heating, had to resort to going into basement and turning on manually each time. Sad to find the lights above dining table still hadn't been fixed, dodgy dimmer switch, considering previous reviews, so we were unble to properly see what we were eating and unable to use for boardgames etc.. However, we all enjoyed the lovely comfy beds, showers/baths, which we had lots of hot water for. The view from the rear of the house is wonderful. My 7 grandchildren (2-12) had a great time, Indoors/outdoors, using all the wonderful space this house has to offer. This made for a real break for the rest of us.

"Lovely property and a great stay."
Comfortable, warm and welcoming- stylishly decorated and very well furnished. We would heartily recommend to a group or a family and would love to stay again in the future. Our 5 grandsons aged 6-23 all loved the top room in particular. We all slept very well in good quality beds. The view from the house is lovely and area is quiet and pretty with lots of footpaths. There were a couple of maintenance/housekeeping issues some of which I have since conveyed to the owner who may have been unaware but nothing that we couldn’t cope with. ( I forgot to mention the lights over the dining table don’t work properly btw)

"Everything was exceptional!"

"WOW! We had an amazing weekend for a family get together."
This house is fully equipped with everything you will need, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pot and pans! The rooms are very well appointed, comfy beds and lovely bedding. The surrounding area gave us plenty of opportunities for walking, eating and visiting lovely places. Highly recommended

"Great property, very well appointed and equiped."
Very comfortable and enjoyable weekend which was enjoyed by all the family.
-
"We had an amazing short break meeting up with all our family."
The indoor decor & what was provided was above average. The kitchen was huge & everything you needed was provided from every item of cooking equipment to herbs, kitchen roll, cling film etc. Hand wash & shower gel in all the bathrooms. Sykes said they couldn’t provide us with a high chair but there was one in the utility room & portable cot in the room with the 4 poster bed. I’ve given a low score re maintenance but this was purely related to the garden, the lawns were mowed but the garden generally lacked the care that has been shown inside the house.

"We had a wonderful time staying here, the property had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, you could tell it had been recently renovated to a very high standard."
My only 2 comments were that the master bedroom mattress was very soft which was a little too soft for my preference & the steam mop did not work which are 2 very minor things and did not effect the immense enjoyment of our stay. We would highly recommend.

"I booked Queen Ann's Close for a mindset retreat that I ran with 8 women in attendance in July and was blown away by the stunning, space, layout and facilities."
A lot of attention to detail has gone into the renovation of the property, as well as the facilities and appliances, and we were comfortable and well-catered for throughout our stay. The property is set in a stunning location on the edge of the Peak District, and we made use of the beautiful walks on our doorstep. The only thing that we had any negative comments on was the smell of all of the sheets on the beds - some of them had a damp smell to them which affected the quality of sleep for some.
-
"The external and internal locks were incredibly hard to use, one was coming off the back plate."
Both need replacing or a different lock option. But apart from that, amazing!! Gorgeous house, tastefully done and worth every penny.

"What a stay!"
Myself and 15 friends stayed here for 2 nights for a reunion. The property is absolutely gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. We loved having the large open-plan kitchen, dining and living room to cook and sit together, especially with the log burner for colder nights. The bedrooms are all beautifully furnished and there were enough bathrooms and en-suites to ensure there wasn’t a queue for showers in the morning. We felt that our stay was very reasonably priced given the quality of the house and we’re considering using it again for future reunions! A couple of small things that would have made our stay even more perfect - there wasn’t a huge number of loo rolls for 16 people so we ran out before our 2 nights were over. It would have also been useful to have kitchen roll provided in the kitchen. Finally, the large fridge was off when we arrived and had a funny smell to it - I’m not sure if this was accidental but it made it slightly tricky when our food delivery arrived and we had nowhere to put it. Thanks for such a lovely stay!

"Lovely kitchen area and perfect for socialising, beautiful house in general."
Big thanks for taking our food shopping due to it being Easter weekend. We didn't realise the bedroom with the 6 children's beds was on the top floor with no carpet on the staircase. Unfortunately due to the ages of our children, we were not able to make use of this facility as were worried about them being on a floor by themselves or falling in the night if they attempted to come down a narrow staircase in the dark. The request to strip all the bedding and bring downstairs was quite time consuming when we were trying to depart the cottage. Otherwise a beautiful area, grounds and cottage.
-
"The house was perfect location and really comfortable, was big enough for a big family."
-
"Advertised fire in lounge was gone."
Minimal toilet paper provided which is a first! And shops closed over Xmas so this was nearly a disaster. Everywhere else we have stayed in holiday cottages provides loo rolls for your stay. Mould on walls in bathroom and bedroom. Outside looking a bit sorry e.g. Collapsed wall between house and garden, overgrown garden not neatly tended like on website pictures. Not what you expect when paying over £4000 for a week, so disappointed . Otherwise the house was a good size and met our needs but given the above issues I feel we did not get good value for money. It was not what I was lead to expect.
-
"Amazing place to stay."
Everything you need and space for everyone to enjoy time together. Very comfy beds. Would love to stay again.
-
"The property was in a beautiful location and was exactly as advertised."
The house was warm and inviting on arrival and all the rooms were clean and well furnished. The bathrooms particularly were plentiful and beautifully updated. The children in our group loved the spaciousness of the house and all our group enjoyed a relaxing time in the many rooms on offer. The top floor unit proved a real hit! The kitchen was well appointed and much thought had gone into providing all the appliances and crockery which large groups would need so that we weren’t constantly washing up! We appreciated the thoughtfulness of the hosts in providing many extras from coal and wood to cleaning products and a welcome carton of milk. We enjoyed our stay so much we are considering rebooking for next year too.
-
"A fantastic property."
An ideal retreat for our get together. The house is a wonderful location for a larger group to get together. A brilliant kitchen and a lovely fire. We would highly recommend this property!
-
"We had a really lovely long weekend at Queen Anne’s Close."
The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped, especially the kitchen - masses of space and multiple fridges and storage, even 2 dishwashers, great for a large group. We enjoyed the garden and there are some good walks straight from the doorstep. The only negative is about lighting - not enough bedside lights (every bedside needs a light in my opinion!) and a couple of lightbulbs not working.
-
"Very spacious and accommodated our party of 15 comfortably."
Good location for exploring local attractions and for sitting quietly in the garden. The arrangement of the downstairs rooms was very helpful as the kitchen, dining room and sitting room were connected and open to each other which meant that nobody was cut off from the party whilst cooking etc
-
"The house is lovely and the location was perfect, the garden and views are incredibly picturesque."
There was lots of room and plenty of bathrooms for the 16 beds. The beds are really comfortable too. Overall we had a lovely weekend and would definitely recommend.
-
"Wow what a week we had here with family and friends to celebrate a special birthday!"
Fabulous house that feels grand yet homely with quality appliances, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully put together. Beautiful views so able to relax and enjoy the property as well as get out and about, a real getaway from it all. Highly recommend this house and a fantastic Greek restaurant we found in Chapel-en-le-Frith called Kouros Cafe, a gem!

"Wow, wow, WOW!"
This place was everything and more! We came as a party of 12 adults (6 couples) for a Christmas weekend. My guests were actually tearful at how beautiful and christmasy the house was. There was ample room for all of us and we absolutely loved the open plan of the downstairs as it gave us the space without being disconnected whilst cooking! We decided to do the full blown christmas meal in the very ample kitchen, there was more than enough equipment to cater for such a big banquet ( maybe one or two more oven trays needed) the table was more than spacious enough to get us all around and be able to decorate it up for a christmas setting. All the beds were very comfortable and bedding was good quality too. We didn’t get the opportunity to use the spectacular garden but the view of it was picturesque. I would be back here in a flash, would love to experience it in the summer time too, BBQ, wine and games in the garden.

"Queen Ann's Close, What a wonderful, beautiful house, stayed there for a week in ..."
Queen Ann's Close, What a wonderful, beautiful house, stayed there for a week in November, with all our family 16 of us 10 adults 6 children, from 2 to 14 we all loved it didn't want to go home, everything you could possibly want was there, Beautiful gardens, the weather was lovely to us, We would love to go back

"A lovely house with a very well equipped kitchen and well decorated living space with ample space for friends and family for a special birthday celebration."
The log burner was glorious and downstairs was really well thought out. The house was in a great location too. Regarding the facilities, some of the bedrooms need to brought up to the higher decoration spec of the other rooms and I would suggest the twin is made into a double. I would probably put the four poster bed in the first large bedroom as it has a lovely vista over the garden as well as the en-suite in it making it feel a little more luxurious. Had a number of issues with light bulbs - some lamps were missing bulbs, and a number of bulbs were flashing and flickering as possibly not dimmable so this could be checked. It would have been nice if the hot tub was working, or if not I would suggest taking it away otherwise it feels like a futile fixture which guests can’t partake in. Outdoors could be made more of - it would be good to have an outdoor fire pit and some seating to really use the outside space better which I was expecting. Overall, would highly recommend to others and return again as the space and layout outshines some of the little tweaks required.
Thank you for your feedback provided for Queen Ann's Close. We really appreciate the kind words and we will consider the suggestions regarding the facilities. I will ensure the house keeping team check all bulbs and replace where necessary. The hot tub is no longer available for guests unfortunately and has been removed from the listing. Property Owner

"Whilst the accommodation was very good , we specifically wanted a property with a hot tub so the fact that it didn’t work for the majority of the stay was extremely disappointing ."
-
"The house absolutely catered for 16 people, it was sufficiently large and very comfortably slept that many people."
It was immaculately clean, decorated very tastefully, and the kitchen equipment very well catered for 16 people. There were also enough bathrooms to very adequately cope with numbers. Water was hot, and it was a nice touch to provide shower gel and shampoo in the various bathrooms. Loved the garden, the views and of course the hot tub. It's situation is also ideal, close enough into Chapel en le Frith to walk into town for supplies etc but secluded and quiet. Neighbours were also very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyable weekend, thank you.
-
"The house was fine and a comfortable space for 16 people."
However it was not clean. Nappy left in toilet bin, kitchen bin dirty with food left in, wet bath mats in washing machine. Not enough towels, mattresses protectors cheap and nasty with not enough pillows. Expecting a better level for the cost of house.
Thank you for your recent feedback. The owner would like to apologise. There was a temporary cleaning contract for that week and unfortunately the cleaners struggled to finish the house in 5 hours and they did not cover themselves in glory. The house has reverted to the normal changeover company regime and further guests should not experience anything like this going forward. Property Owner

"This property was lovely: spacious, comfortable and with a large garden suitable for children to play in."
It was extremely clean and homely. The housekeeper was very helpful and kept in touch in case we needed anything. Very good facilities for cooking for larger parties. Five minute drive from the A6 and local supermarkets, but still rural. We would definitely stay here again.
-
"Fantastic property, beautiful place in countryside."
Perfectly kitted out for large groups. Very cosy
-
"We had a fantastic stay."
The house is super well equipped and the hot tub was an extra bonus with the kids. Communication with owners/ managers was fast and clear. The only opportunity for improvement we could see was in the garden as it lacked a proper maintenance and comfortable seating to enjoy it to its fullest. But views and space were amazing anyway. Thanks!
-
"Beautiful house."
Ideal for a family get together. Kitchen appliances were easy to use and suitable for a large group. Nice to be able to all eat together
-
"Perfect house and location, we had 10 adults and 6 kids!"
It couldn’t have been more perfect.
-
"Brilliant well established house."
We all loved it. Everything we needed and more. Fab bedrooms and bathrooms. Downstairs very spacious and open planned which was great for socialising together. Hot tub was fun too. Visited Haddon Hall, Bakewell, and Castleton. We would have re booked for next November but not avaliable in 2020. Shame.
-
"What an amazing property."
..our family stayed for a long weekend to celebrate my mums 60th and the property didn’t disappoint! Plenty of space I loved the open planned logout of the ground floor! Hot Tub outside was a welcome treat on a freezing wet weekend. I was able to have some deliveries made to the property on the day that I arrived also which was great. There was plenty of kitchen facilities and serving plates etc couldn’t have had a better time!
-
"The property was gorgeous, and the photos do not do it justice."
It is so much more spacious than in the photos online. For a large gathering, this property was perfect - we had 15 adults and never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was fantastically equipped - which was perfect as we did a lot of cooking ourselves. The property could do with a few more place mats (property sleeps 16 and only 12 mats), hairdryers!, the porch leaked due to the heavy rain (notified the owner, but just so you are aware).
-
"My friends and I stayed here (15 of us) for 2 nights so we could all be together for my birthday."
What a fabulous place and plenty of space. Outdoor area is lovely too. Comfortable lounge/dining area and kitchen well equipped. Would highly recommend for a large group.
-
"When we arrived there were dirty cups left around living and kitchen area."
Also the hot tub stopped working after the first day! Contacted the owner who gave us instructions which did not rectify the problem. We wer told that they could not get anyone to come and help us. We booked the cottage because of the hot tub. We were all really dissapointed.
The owner is disappointed that the guests did not enjoy their stay. On the first point a change management company thoroughly cleans the property and the house is in an immaculate state when new guests enter the property. The owner cannot explain why there was dirty cutlery and crockery on arrival. In regard to the hot tub, this was working perfectly when the guests arrived (the hot tub is emptied and inspected on each change over). The hot tub turns it self off when the water levels are low. This is usually caused by too many people getting into the hot tub at any one time and there is a warning notice on the hot tub to this end. The owner and the change over company took all the steps they could to rectify the situation but unfortunately a solution could not be found at such short notice. The hot tub is now in perfect working order and future guests should not experience any difficulties if the instructions on the hot tub are followed. Property Owner

"Absolutely fantastic property with plenty of space for a family of 14."
The gardens were superb as was the hot tub. The downstairs area was spacious and everyone was able to find an area to relax in. All the rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Bed linen was of great quality too. The kitchen (s) contained all you would need to host a large group and more. Overall the house has a very regal air to it. Would most certainly recommend it and would love to visit again.
-
"Beautiful house great place to stay, only slight downside was how noisy the doors slam, that’s my only critic."
-
"We had an amazing time and the location was perfect."
-
"This is an exceptional property in an ideal location."
The younger ones loved the attic bedroom space but the huge ground floor was big enough for everyone to eat together and chill out and relax. Everything was spotlessly clean and of a high quality. We all had a wonderful time.
-
"Absolutely beautiful home and grounds!"
Truly felt like home for the weekend. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. Very clean, all worked great amenities. Keep up the great work. Would definitely recommend!
-
"Great sized house for the 13 of us."
Great kitchen and dining areas. We had a couple of problems with the fire alarm beeping continuously through the night and actually sounding a false alert on the last day. A couple of radiators were not working which left 2 bedrooms cold. Toaster needs replacing as half of the 6 slots don't work correctly. Jacuzzi was nice but needs auto fill after 5 people use it. The amount of water displaced means the water level drops too low and heater stops. We had to look for a hosepipe and tap to top it up.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Queen Ann’s Close."
The house fully catered for our needs as such a large group of ten adults and four young children. We couldn’t complain with any of the facilities, the bathrooms were sufficient and the kitchen was fantastic. We would definitely return.
-
"Queen Ann's close is absolutely beautiful, spacious and comfortable."
The views from eery room are simply breathtaking. The only thing that needs attention are the bathroom plugs as they all were not draining the water properly. I will be booking again next November. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
-
"We had a brilliant weekend at Queen Anne's Close."
It is a beautiful house in a lovely location. The open plan kitchen / dining area and lounge worked really well for a big group and the children loved the loft bedroom.
-
"Fabulous house."
Very well equipped. Furnished with beautiful, good quality fixtures and fittings. Would highly recommend.
-
"We all had a fabulous time and both the Team at Sykes and the owner of the property provide excellent communication and service!"
It was an amazing weekend, one in which we will all remember for many years to come-Thankyou
-
"The property requires: A tumble drier for the number of guests and towels used with the hot tub."
A hairdryer. I have never rented a property without one. Laundry basket A clothes airer Potato masher Kitchen scissors A smaller saucepan would be useful when feeding children small meals plus a few plasic plates/cups/glasses that can be safely taken into the garden. No visitors book or guides to local places of interest Drinking tumblers in bathrooms or smaller glasses suitable for use by children. We all loved the hot tub but 5 of our party developed skin rashes/ and bites. We cannot say the rash was caused by the hot tub but it was a bit of a coincidence. Despite the above it's a lovely property and we all enjoyed our holiday. With a few additions this could an excellent holiday venue.
-
"We loved the property but we're disappointed that it didn't have anywhere for outdoor eating or a parasol for shade."
We also needed a CD player and there was nothing available - not even a DVD player. As the property is five stars we expected it to have these things.
-
"Our family gathering of 13, including kids, visited in June 2018 and were fortunate enough to have lovely weather which meant that the beautiful grounds could be enjoyed."
We stayed for 2 nights at the weekend and found the property to be absolutely perfect. There was lots of space which meant we weren’t tripping over each other and the facilities were amazing. Although we ordered in all our food the kitchen was really accommodating and having 2 dishwashers was a god send. Would definitely stay here again. There was adequate off road parking and the property has lots of lovely walks nearby. I would highly recommend the property to anyone as the house and garden are to a really high standard and we were able to make amazing memories.
-
"A fabulous property in a quiet village off Chapel- en- le Frith."
Outstanding facilities and a lovely quiet garden. Perfect place to relax and to use as a base for walks.
-
"Great accomadation house and garden and hot-tub."
One thing lacking was local maps and lists of what to do. A few games as well. Contact with owner very efficient and everything worked well. Thenoisein the house carried, so we made door closers to stop the self closing door hinges slamming and echoing around the house. .the whole family loved it especially the loft room.
-
"We were a big family group of 15, adults and children."
The accommodation was fantastic! The hot tub was well used , as was the large rear garden for cricket and rounders! We booked a chef for one night and the arrangement of rooms downstairs worked perfectly. Everyone slept well and there were enough bathrooms. Our family slept on the third floor and it was a perfect space for the children. Please can you ask the owner to put champagne style glasses in the kitchen and more mirrors in the bedrooms, some had no mirrors, especially the third floor. A superb location as well!
-
"The house was absolutely stunning - the images don’t really do it justice."
. It felt like a true home after only a few days and no one wanted to leave! The owner has done an amazing job of fitting the house out with unique, stylish, high quality furniture and appliances. The location is superb - close enough to local amenities yet with a remote feel to it - you really feel like you’re outside.
