"Had a wonderful stay, the place is a real credit to the owners it has been finished to a really high standard."
We had everything we needed. Great location no need to move the car as all great walks are on the doorstep. Previous reviewer mentioned car park prices in the visitor centre car park, if you download the PayByPnone app it cost us just over £20 for the week and most carparks in the area use this. A great place to stay.

"Very comfortable cottage in a good location"
-
"The property was lovely in a beautiful setting ideal for walking and centrally located in the village."
Kitchen was excellent and very well equipped. We loved the style and decor. Good supply of local information. Downsides are the mattresses. Both needed replacement as we could feel the springs. Also lots of dust under the settee. We would recommend the water is emptied from the tumble dryer as it took us ages to get it working. Finally, visitors should be informed that shops in Castleton close at 5/6pm so if arriving later ensure you get basic provisions in either Hope or Bradwell.

"Perfect location in a lovely village."
Fantastic choice of pubs and cafes, we didn't cook but the kitchen has everything you need. Parking could be an issue in busier times, but we found a space on Buxton Road and left the car there all week as we walked everywhere. If arriving in peak period be prepared to pay about £55 to park for a week in the visitor centre car park opposite cottage. Will definitely be back, and have recommended highly to friends & family.
-
"Superb location, high quality comfortable cottage."
We loved our stay!
-
"Fantastic place to be, right in the centre of this busy little village."
-
"Lovely cosy, comfortable cottage, it was well designed and finished to a very high standard."
I do think that the car park mentioned should say pay and display, although there is ample free parking in the village which wasn't a problem for us. The welcome gift was very thoughtful and very much appreciated. Your property is set in a beautiful location, we would love to return for another visit! Thank you

"Lovely area and enjoyed our stay very handy for all amenities and pubs"
-
"Wonderful cottage in such a beautiful location, the cottage is well equipped with everything you need and the king size bed alone gets a 10/10 so comfortable."
There is so many amazing things to do in castleton with all the family like all the fascinating caverns to explore and incredible walks with the most breath taking views. We had the bestest stay at losehill view and will 100% be back.

"A little more çhina, cutlery etc would be useful."
-
"Lovely property in wonderful condition."
Location is absolutely perfect - could not be better. This is the perfect spot for walking in this part of the dark peak.
-
"Lose Hill View is an exceptional cottage, the extra touches by the owners were very welcome and we particularly enjoyed the Prosecco and chocolates."
The village of Castleton is really beautiful with some amazing walks right on the doorstep. Thank you for a brilliant stay, we will definitely return.
-
"Lovely cottage and location."
Only request would be to look at more comfortable seating.
-
"Very comfortable and perfectly located property to explore and walk around Castleton along with easy access to local tea rooms and pubs."
-
"Fantastic cottage, well equipped clean and warm in a great location!"
Wished we could have stayed longer. The only Criticism would be that a second tv is advertised in the small bedroom and there isn’t one.
-
"Well presented, in a great location, with excellent facilities."
The decor is in keeping with the house but also modern enough to ensure your stay is comfortable. The property owner is very helpful, if required. This is a superb property and one of the best we have stayed at. The village of Castleton is a lovely little location to base yourself and has some wonderful pubs / eateries (definitely visit The Castle and ensure you book a table at the 1530 Restaurant)
-
"Excellent property at the heart of the village situated across from the tourist centre."
Would come back if we head this way again. We used it as a base for walking the hills surrounding the village. Lots of great pubs nearby all selling real ale and food. Parking is available but you need to check in first.
-
"Fantastic location and a really lovely comfortable cottage, thoughtfully decorated and well equipped without being cluttered."
Felt very spacious for somewhere that only slept three; the kitchen area in particular was excellent. My daughter loved the view of the castle from the back bedroom.
-
"Really nice place, exceeded expectations."
Will add to our list of places to stay.
-
"Fantastic cottage, very well stocked and in a great position."
We had a wonderful time and we will be back!
-
"Absolute Perfection!"
Would return here without hesitation. Loved the quality and craftsmanship of the decoration and fittings. All those little things are there to start you off.. tea, coffee, milk etc. Slightly lower and more comfortable stools would have suited two average men sit at the island more comfortably but that’s a small small thing….. and despite all the information and photos we still parked to the right of the wrong bins and left of the wrong brown door. For anybody reading this it’s the very left hand bins and brown door as you enter the parking area. Can’t wait to return.

"A superb home from home."
Lovely location and the whole house is finished to such a high standard. We will be back!
-
"We stayed for five nights over Christmas and loved the cosy, clean, and well catered cottage."
The welcome gifts were very thoughtful and appreciated, and we were pleased that the Christmas tree was still up for us! There is information on free parking inside the cottage that would be useful to be included in the email ahead of arriving - we ended up parking in the parking lot that is directly across from the property (near the visitors centre). The town itself is gorgeous, with cute pubs, walks and the caves nearby. It was a great place to be based for our Christmas getaway.
-
"Very well appointed and finished property in the middle of Castleton village."
Lovely setting and so close to everything. Well recommended.
-
"The property was in a great location."
Losehill View was extremely well fitted out and generously supplied. The notes from the owners about housekeeping, parking, local information were really useful. It was very clean and comfortable to stay there. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore the Peak District. Thank you to the owners.
-
"Prosecco, chocolate and fresh milk on arrival."
-
"Excellent location ."
Car parking instructions at a nearby safe location was sent to us which was very useful indeed as it is a bit of a tight fit and hassle to park the car at the cottage . Thank you and would add those instructions on website with instructions as it is a private drive way .

"We are a small family of 3, 2 adults and a 1 year old."
We had a lovely stay at Losehill View. Great location within Castleton. A very pretty traditional cottage which is nicely presented throughout with all the mod cons. Great parking space which is a lovely short walk away along the stream. Highly recommended and we would go again for sure.
-
"Delightful cottage in the heart of Castleton."
Finished to a very high standard with all the mod cons. Welcome bottle and chocolates was a lovely touch especially as it was my birthday during our stay! The Three Roofs Cafe provided us with take away breakfasts, lunch and cakes and delivered to the front door… would highly recommend them too! Would love to return, perfect stay, thank you
-
"Really well finished property, small but perfectly executed."
All mod cons, warm, comfortable and with nice little extras, such as the welcome bottle and chocolates, kitchen cupboard essentials, and plenty of bits like toilet roll, tea towels and cleaning bits. The property is perfectly located for exploring castleton and the surrounding peaks, and the parking location whilst not immediately in front of the property does encompass a lovely river and beautiful views of the surroundings! Our toddler loved that ducks came to say hello regularly and thanks to the neighbour‘s bird feeders, we saw lots of birds we wouldn’t usually at home. We absolutely loved it.
-
"Fantastic cottage in prime location."
Every holiday need was met and would highly recommend. Wine and chocolates also much appreciated !
-
"Really lovely, clean property done to a very high standard in an excellent location."
Really enjoyed our stay, this is probably the best place to stay in Castleton. Does get a bit busy in the area due to the central location and the cafe next door, with people walking down who are presumably trying to get to peak cavern (perhaps a "dead end" sign would reduce this?).
-
"Great location, fully equipped small but perfectly formed cottage, local amenities right on the doorstep."
Lovely little touch of a little welcome gift. Would definitely recommend.
-
"Well Specced cottage in great location"
-
"We had the most wonderful 4nights stay in LooseHill View Cottage Castleton beautiful walks lovely cafe on the door step just perfect."
Thankyou once again to Sykescottages. ❤️
-
"Super cottage in a fantastic location in the heart of Castleton, with walks from the doorstep."
The cottage was spotless, well-equipped and well-appointed...the log fire was a real bonus too. We hope to return!
