  • "Wonderful holiday cottage in Matlock green , superb spacious accommodation with everything you could wish for its the best holiday cottage weve ever stayed in, with only a short stroll into the centre of town, plenty of parking, great welcome pack, we will definitely be returning next year."

Thank you for your kind comments and we would love you to return , thanks Mary and Malc. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time at Knowleston House."

Great location. There was some traffic noise and church clock striking on the quarter hour, but we got used to it. Beds were comfortable, nice fluffy towels and spotless bed linen. It was great to have three bathrooms and downstairs toilet. Welcome sweets and wine were a nice touch. Only minor complaints were downstairs hard floors needed mopping as they felt sticky, clothes airer broken, soap dispensers not working properly and outside lights not working. No instructions in the house about recycling and bin collections. Despite this, would recommend for families.

  • "The description of the cottage started that some noise could be heard from traffic."

All five of us slept very poorly, as there traffic noise was incessant, through the day and at night. The sash windows, though in keeping with the building did not make any traffic noise. Due to this, we would not stay in this property again. The kitchen would benefit from more crockery and particularly more mugs. The beds were comfortable, and the house was comfortably furnished.

Thank you for your feedback the property is in a conservation area so traffic noise does come with the property and is mentioned in the information , we will have to look at the crockery and mugs situation , thanks Mary and Malc. Property Owner

  • "Minor niggles: No separate recycling bin in the kitchen."

Dining chairs of different heights. No bathroom cleaning spray.

Thank you for your feedback , the 6 chair dining set has two high backed chairs at the heads of the table and four lower backed chairs to the sides this is how it sets up really sorry this niggled you , the lack of bathroom cleaning spray has never been mentioned before by guests and we're really sorry that this also niggled you , hope everything else was ok thanks again Mary and Malc. • "How unusual - a holiday property with adequate lighting and an efficient shower!"

But the duvet was too hot and heavy.

Thank you for your feedback and its great that you've enjoyed the shower and the brightness of the lights , shame that the duvet was to heavy but its a personal choice and thanks for the good score so i imagine that you enjoyed your stay , Mary and Malc. Property Owner

  • "The holiday property was great."

We had a lovely stay. The house is in a lovely location in Matlock. A well maintained house, well equipped with plenty of room. We even played some of the vinyl on the record player. The wine and chocolates left for us were appreciated. One problem (only a small one) but there was not enough crockery. We were having to take breakfast plates and cutlery out of the dishwasher to wash manual as they were needed again for lunch. I would recommend the property.

Thanks for all your kind comments and it’s great that you enjoyed your stay ,we will have to look into providing more crockery . Mary and Malc Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable beds, well equipped house."

a bit too warm if anything, had to keep turning the thermostat down to 16, every few hours. Very useful to have a ground floor toilet available. kitchen table was a little tricky to keep clean with the grooves in the top. Only thing we really missed was having a cafetiere. we'd be happy to stay there again.

As others have mentioned though, it probably is not ideal for light sleepers between the church bells and road noise.

  • "A spotlessly clean property."

Very cosy and comfortable. Easy walk into the village via the little park close by. Everything provided - couldn’t ask for more. Five adults enjoyed a lovely weekend celebration and gentle introduction into the festive season with the little Christmas touches in the house. The welcome bottle of bubbly and chocolates were appreciated and enjoyed. Great place.

  • "In most regards, this was a very pleasant house in which to stay, being comfortable and very well equipped."

Our only reservations are minor: there was quite a lot of traffic noise (the house is located close to a busy road); and some of the kitchen cupboards and the window beside the sink are a bit of a challenge for someone under five feet six inches in height to reach, so the house might not suit a family with no taller members.

Hi Patrick thank you for your feedback I hope the Road noise didn’t disturb you too much Property Owner
