"Great week away with family."
Very spacious and large play area was well used by everyone. Good size lononge and dining area Great views. Good sized bedrooms with en-suite facilities.

"Very difficult to find, Stockbatch Granary sign should be displayed at start of farm track near Windy Nook Farm Duck Eggs signage."
I paid £30 for electric car charge. We had one electric car there wasn’t an external charger and when we tried to plug in to internal Electric plugs the car wouldn’t charge, although all plugs would boil a kettle none would charge the car, I want to request a refund of the pre paid £30 please. The farm track to the Granary is appalling, full of deep pot holes, we were worried some damage would happen to one of our cars. For me it spoilt the whole experience of the Granary, which was such a nice place and so well equipped. Yes this is a farm track but it is also a holiday let access, and as such does need improvement. Very helpful managers, who responded to our needs.

"For a group of adults friends, this was ideal."
Remote though with virtually no WiFi or mobile signal so plan walking routes in advance! Apart from a few technical details with the oven and TV, we found everything well appointed and extremely comfortable.
-
"The house is lovely, and huge."
The games room is enormous and the table tennis and table football are in good condition (not the bats and balls, they were naff). However, the internet access is completely unusable for a large party. Two of us had to work during the week and had to leave the property to find places with suitable connections. This information should have been provided beforehand so that we could have made alternative arrangements.
-
"Loved the property and size, exactly as listed apart from the fact there are steps to every bedroom."
As we had a wheelchair user in our party we look for ground floor rooms but it would have been really helpful to know about the steps in advance. The property itself was exactly the size we wanted and we had a wonderful break.
-
"A lovely property with plenty of space and accommodation for everyone."
Beautiful rural setting and very quiet and peaceful with places to visit within easy driving distance. The listing says the property is accessed by a farm track but the track is nearly a mile long with lots of potholes apparently due to the rain this year. I have a small car not built for that and had to have a tyre repaired. A pity as the place was otherwise brilliant.
-
"Nice property in lovely location but sadly in need of some TLC."
Most of the furniture, fixtures & fittings were well worn to say the least & in need of replacement. Four of the bedrooms were not cleaned very well as pointed out to me by some of our party. Bugs running across lounge carpet was not great in the evening. We were pre warned about the access road but did not realise a hummer was required. Booked this property for my wife's birthday surprise but think it's more suitable for stag/hen weekends.

"Wonderful property."
Comms were also great!! Would definitely recommend.
-
"House has a real wow factor and the photos don't really do it justice."
Really great for an extended family get together. We would definitely come back . Only real disappointment was the WiFi. Very limited speeds and not available in most of the property.
-
"Stockbatch Granary was a delightful place to stay with a mixed age family party aged 4 to 76."
The king rooms are all very spacious and we all enjoyed having en-suite bathrooms. The other bedrooms are also a good size, just not as big as the king bedrooms! The games room ws big enough for children to runaround and even scoot around, which was a real bonus on wet days. The countryside is beautiful and we found plenty to do locally. The only downside for us was the lack of mobile signal and poor wifi - but that would probably be a bonus for other people. It's just not good enough to work from.
-
"A spacious and well thought out property in a quiet location."
We enjoyed watching hares around the grounds. The beds were comfortable. A bonus en-suite bedrooms, supplied with good size bath sheets. The kitchen was well equipped. Having two fridges meant we didn't need to shop each day. The large saucepans and trays made group cooking easier. However, the smaller saucepans didn't all have lids to fit and one of the steamers didn't fit any of the saucepans. Karen, the property manager, quickly replaced a large mixing bowl that had been put away broken before our arrival. We would all love to stay again, but the state of the track deters us from doing so. A solution to the long ongoing problem of very deep ruts leading up from the road and numerous large potholes needs to be found.

"The photos do not do this property justice."
Such a spacious and peaceful place set in the depths of the glorious Shropshire countryside. All three generations of our family loved their stay at Stockbatch Granary and the layout meant that the youngest members had no stairs to climb and could leave their toys out as the lounge was so large! The kitchen was blessed with a wide range of equipment and crockery etc. which really helped when cooking for 15. Even when a tap stopped working, Karen, the property manager, was quick to organise its repair. The only issue was the potholed track but everyone drove slowly without any problems. Thank you for a wonderful week.

"Had a great stay here."
14 people for 3 nights. The layout of the building is very good…a large dining room for meals, a large lounge with the log fire was great for social chatting, playing games etc, and the kitchen was well stocked and had all we needed. Satnav will get you there. The road in was a challenge and heavy rain has taken its toll, so you need to be very careful as it does need some work, but the granary is perfect as a family get-together house. Karen, the property manager was great to deal with. Would happily stay there again.
-
"This was a really great place to bring our extended family together to enjoy social time."
The big games room was fab for the children and the dining room ideal for us all to eat together.
-
"We were getting together for a holiday with our children and grandchildren (a party of 12 including small children and teenagers) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return."
The accommodation had lots of character and there was plenty space to enable differennt activities to happen at the same time without our feeling we were on top of each other. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious so that we were able to cater for large family meals, which we thoroughly enjyed around the impressive dining table, without any problems. Karen, the Property Manager, was very friendly and helpful. We were particularly grateful for her flexibility over our departure time - possible because the house was not booked for the following week. There was an issue with the supply of hot water to the bedroom wing at first but, once this was reported to Karen, it was resolved the same day. An issue with a toilet couldn't be dealt with immediately but with many bathrooms (and the extra toilet in the utility room) this wasn't a big problem. The only other serious issue was the condition of the long driveway/track which was severely potholed so that we needed to drive very slowly and carefully to minimise discomfort and to avoid damage to the car suspension. The uphill climb from the main road, in particular, was heavily eroded by the recent heavy rainfall. It really is in need of some serious maintenance and improvement.
-
"Amazing place will definitely return"
-
"A 2nd TV would be useful with a party ranging from 80+ down 5/6 year olds."
A difficult property to find when approaching from Bridgnorth. Plenty of room to spread our wings. We had a very enjoyable stay.
-
"Our second visit with the family and we once again had a wonderful time."
So much space and the games room makes for an ideal holiday with young children.
-
"We had a brilliant time at Stockbatch Granary."
Perfect for family of 13. Lovely big warm & cosy home ...plenty of room for us all. Really loved that we all had ensuite bathrooms. Everyone loved the games room. Big kitchen & dining room...plenty of utensils, crockery etc... everything had been thought of. Have already recommended to friends. Hopefully come back sometime in the future. Karen extremely helpful.

"A great place for a large family gathering."
It’s all very comfortable, well equipped and clean. The huge games room was a hit with everyone and was well used as we needed some entertainment in bad weather! It’s quite a remote, rural setting in beautiful countryside accessed by an unmade road - not a problem for us but worth being aware of.
-
"Fantastic stay once again, thank you for the clean and well appointed kitchen, bedrooms and home."
Thank you Karen for all your help.
-
"There was lots of flies in the bedrooms even when you shut the windows - it was horrible, there was cobwebs and hornets ."
We didn't like the toilets that were in the bedroom and not en suite rooms. The Wifi was terrible especially in the bedrooms - when someone wanted time out / face time people / call people it could not be done privately
-
"The barn was perfect for our needs."
We really appreciated too the big pans that allowed us to cook for the big number of people we had. Often you get small pans in places like this. We loved being able to see the stars and not have the glow of the city around us. The road on the way was perhaps the most tricky and I can imagine it would be really tricky in the winter months. We were happy to have 4 wheel drive. It's also really in the middle of nowhere, and not really that near Shrewsbury, so it's really a place to get to and escape. Don't expect the town to be near by. On a maintenance front we did run out of how water in the morning. Is the boiler man enough for the size of the property and the number of people? Might be good to warn people about that for future. But once the tank had enough time to recover we could get the hot water back on later in the afternoon. But communication was great from Sykes and very much appreciated.

"We had a super time at Stockbatch."
The house was beautiful and very comfortable. It suited our large party very nicely and we were all delighted with our rooms. It was nice to get off the grid and really chill out with family from different parts of the country. The facilities were excellent and there was penty to keep us amused. We explored the countryside on bikes and by foot and it was truly beautiful.
-
"We were a family party of 12, age ranges from 10 to 80."
The bedrooms were versatile enough for all and the games room was a winner with everyone and accommodated our bikes. The estate was wonderful for walking and small villages were well within reach on foot. Farther afield were the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge which we also visited. The weather was fantastic so that obviously added to the pleasure too. We even had good weather on our barbecue night! The garden was ideal for our two dogs - large and enclosed. Small children would also be totally safe. The kitchen facilities were good and adequate for the number of guests. The sitting room was wonderful but was generally only used in the evening when we took advantage of the gorgeous fire. We loved the dining room which was plain, roomy and stylish. We ate in there every evening. There were some small issues which we communicated to the housekeeper - things like blocked shower heads, loose toilet seats, missing dishwasher wheels and a non too clean oven. We also wondered whether a water jug could have been provided. We were also informed about the state of the approach road which was quite tortuous but apparently it was to be repaired in the very near future. All in all, we thoroughly recommend this property as we know that every member of our party enjoyed their stay there.
Thank you for leaving this feedback for us to be able to improve upon. We apologise for the smaller issues and are always on hand to rectify these if a phone call is made to us, but we will make sure all of those issues mentioned above are resolved. We are overjoyed to hear that every member of the party enjoyed themselves and look forward to hopefully seeing you back soon. Property Owner

"This is an amazing place."
The pictures are accurate. It was good to have 5 rooms in one area and 2 in the other, this worked for our family. The games room is amazing, cold for this time of year but in the Summer it will be incredible. The big barn doors open on both sides. The BBQ facilities were good, there were 12 of us and 2 dogs and it more than serviced our needs. There were enough plates, glasses etc and it was good to have a dishwasher and a tumble drier. There were games there already and jigsaw puzzles which kept some of us busy and the area is good to explore. The only downside, not relating to the property, was the road leading up to the property. It's full of big potholes so you need to be careful. All in all 10/10. Cannot fault it. I think we will be back.
Amazing to hear that you had a lovely stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment, we value all feedback as we want to ensure that we maximize our guest experience and appreciate your recommended improvements. Property Owner

"We have had a fabulous time, celebrating Mum and Dads 60th Wedding Anniversary."
The games room was perfect for family games (although a little cool), lounge and dining rooms easily fitted us all in and there were plenty of glasses, crockery, pans, etc. The only downside was the pot-holed farm road on the way in, likely due to recent bad weather. Karen, the manager, was lovely and even talked my dad through the directions when he got lost on the way there. We'd definitely book this again. Thanks.

"14 members of my family (and a dog) aged between 11 months and 85 years spent a fabulous weekend at Stockbatch Granary."
The bedrooms were all clean and comfortable. The large lounge gave us all plenty of space and the games room, which was even larger than expected, was a hit with everyone. All areas (except the games room) were always warm and there were sufficient logs for a fire each afternoon/evening. The Granary appears to be well used, the furniture is not pristine, but this made it a more homely and a more relaxed stay as we were not afraid to make ourselves at home. The kitchen was well stocked (except for an ice cube tray, or at least I couldn't find one!) There were sufficient cleaning products, tea towels and dishwasher tablets for our entire stay and a welcome tea/coffee/milk and biscuits selection for when we arrived. We had an issue with the temperature of one of the ovens (right hand) as it didn't get very hot, but we managed with the other oven and grill. Karen, the property manager was on the end of the phone and quickly answered any questions. I'd definitely recommend Stockbatch Granary for a stay.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we are happy to hear that you would recommend us. We appreciate all constructive feedback, so any changes or improvements that can be made we will definitely look into. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again Property Owner

"Great space to celebrate with family - comfortable, lovely and warm with amazing views (including a daily sighting of a barn owl)!"
Karen the manager is very helpful with details beforehand and kindly let us stay a bit longer on our last day.
We are very appreciative of your feedback and happy that you thought so highly of the property. Thank you for leaving us your review, they are all important to us. We will ensure Karen hears about this review; she is such a highly valued member of our team. Property Owner

"Just returned from a lovely weekend away for a family members birthday get together."
The granary is exactly as advertised and had everything we needed as a family of 14 and 3 dogs. It was a property that was made for that size party with kids and dogs, a little worn in places but when you are staying somewhere that will accommodate children and pets that completely understandable. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean and set out well with a wing separating the main living area from the bedrooms with the games room. There were then 2 bedrooms above the dining room/hallway if you wanted some peace for putting young children to bed early (a floorplan to show this would be a great asset). The setting was amazing !! Lots of space (very muddy in the winter) for dog walking and so remote and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the barn owl which flew across the garden many times during our stay. The garden was very secure for kids and dogs (a small gap in the gate that maybe a small dog could squeeze through) but our dogs were even safe at the front while we were loading and unloading as there is no through traffic. The last point I will make is that the property manager, Karen was brilliant. She got in touch a couple of days before the stay with all the information we needed for access etc and her personal number if we needed it and also called and on the morning of the stay to let us know there were diversion signs in the village and how to navigate around them...fantastic !! Many thanks to all involved.

"My family Stayed at Stockbatch Granary for 7 days over Christmas 2022, can not fault a thing, had a Christmas that will last in our memories for ever."
On arrival the owners left us a lovely gift of wine chocolates etc which we thought was a very nice touch. The property has everything you need during your stay, it is set in beautiful country side with lovely views, every bedroom has comfortable beds and own bathroom. The games room was a Hugh hit with the children and adults alike. If you are thinking of staying at Stockbatch Granary don’t hesitate book it you won’t be disappointed. Finally special thank you to Karen the manager for all the help and information.
-
"Great place for a large group/family get together."
Well equipped, comfortable and warm. Games room isn’t heated so was too cold to use while we were there but would be great if weather had been warmer. Sofa’s were a little ‘tired’. Didn’t use the garden due to time of year but was secure and would be useful in spring/summer for BBQ’s etc
-
"We had a great weekend with family ranging from 15yr to 80yr."
Games room was fab, plenty of room for everyone. Took 3 dogs great enclosed garden. It was lovely and homely and we all felt comfortable and had a really lovely time.
-
"We had a wonderful family get together."
There is so much room, and the games room was a great hit. The beds are very comfortable, and the property is really well equipped, and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Karen (property manager) was very helpful and responded quickly to help us. We would definitely recommend for a boisterous family.
-
"Great place for a large group or family gathering, we would definitely return."
Lots of space and activities to do - the games room was great for the adults as well as the kids.
-
"Thank you for a wonderful stay."
Good bedding, good quality towels. Great host contact (thank you Karen for everything). Plenty of crockery and cooking equipment/ utensils. Plenty of space and clean. Thank you.
-
"The perfect spot for a boisterous family group of 12, nobody aroun for miles, we ate in the garden when BBQ was going and the weather was good, the dining rooom easily accommodated all of us when not."
Everyone had their own ensuite bedroom which was great, beautiful place, remote, but that suited our group.
-
"Directions from the south to the property were non-existent, signage at the premises was very poor, it took us an hour to find the entrance to the track."
The sign for Stockbatch Granary was only positioned on one side of the entrance and this was partly hidden by undergrowth. The track itself was in need of maintenance, fine if you had a tractor or 4x4 . Having said this we had a very enjoyable week at the property and in Shropshire and the weather was very kind.
-
"The property was fantastic for a large family group, with plenty of space."
Games room equipment in good condition. . For improvement: garden area is very rough and had large weeds including thistles. Right hand oven ineffective. Shower in Room A not adjustable for temperature. There was an infestation of flying ants behind the sofa in front of the window in main lounge.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but it as it’s an old building so there were lots of flies, spiders and cobwebs and no means to deal with them."
It would also have helped having some shade in the garden, especially with children around, which meant we had to keep them indoors on sunny days and having the doors and windows open meant lots of flies inside. The sofa was also uncomfortable and in need of a clean. We had a slight problem with the dishwasher however, Karen, the site manager was very helpful and quick to respond and the staff we did meet were really helpful and friendly. We would recommend staying here, it is very remote, which is what we like, with lots of space and generally had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear that you found the sofa to be uncomfortable. The vast majority of our guests have loved the British-made sofas but can understand that they may not have been to your taste. In relation to the shade in the garden, there are trees to offer some cover and we may look to add a parasol in the future. Property Owner

"Wonderful accommodation everyone from 9yr old to 80yr old loved it."
Very comfortable, plenty of everything in the kitchen,Games room well used as was outside space Kipper the dog had a wonderful time with lots of room to run around. We would all love to return again. Can’t recommend the granary enough, A notebook with comments from other renters would be usefuld Veronica, Peter, and all the family
-
"Great place for family get together."
It is a little isolated so take everything you need. Lovely area for walks and visits around Shrewsbury.. I would highly recommend.
-
"12 of us plus dogs had a lovely Easter week celebrating some big birthdays and a graduation."
Weather was very kind to us. House is warm and comfortable with lots of seating and great enclosed garden for the dogs. Plenty of hot water. Being able to walk from the door and explore the estate was amazing, the dogs were exhausted. We saw deer, pheasants and hares. Lots to do in the area if you do want to venture out. Well equipped kitchen great for cooking for hungry folk. Games and DVDs for evenings. The private track is not a problem if taken slowly. Internet is rural and slow. Expect to be able to pick up emails but you're not going to be able to game or use for work purposes. We had a private tour of Pitchford Hall and also had a private caterer in on our last night to do a 3 course meal and all the serving and washing up. If you want a pristine, luxury boutique hotel experience this isn't for you. If you like cosy, comfortable country living and are happy to walk, explore, read, play games and spend time together I can't imagine anywhere better.

"Second visit to Stockbatch Granary 11 of us We all had a wonderful stay Lovely part of the country"
-
"Comfortable and well stocked with utensils etc."
Beds comfortable and the rooms big enough for all. Games room was appreciated. Track to house about 3/4 of a mile, could be tricky in poor weather. Great place for a friends or family gathering
-
"Excellent property and perfect place to host a family celebration."
The rooms are all of good size and all being ensuite is an added bonus especially for a property of this size. The property is well equipped and has a separate dining room which was perfect as we had organised a private chef to cook one night. We would highly recommend this property.
-
"A fantastic venue for our birthday celebration weekend."
Plenty of space to relax and unwind. A really fabulous games area , with table tennis, basketball. Only issue was the bathrooms & en-suite’s which are in need of upgrading.
-
"Very difficult to find accomodation that would keep a party of 12 with ages ranging from 9 to 80, happy and entertained over a wet weekend in the depths of the country."
Stockbatch Granary really fitted the bill. Great accomodation with everyone having an en-suite bedroom. A vast barn for games, large dining kitchen for breakfasts and lunches, and a spacious dining room ideal for the birthday party. The lounge was immense with plenty of very comfortable seating for everyone. Log fire an added bonus. Unanimous approval for this house from our group.
-
"Lovely accommodation, our family group ranged from 4 months - 84 years old and the property catered for all of us perfectly."
-
"A fantastic place to celebrate our Diamond Wedding Anniversary with our family."
Plenty of room also warm and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful spacious dining room for a celebration meal and games room was really appreciated. The surrounding countryside was beautiful from the house and also for walks. The access drive had a lot of potholes but we were warned about that. Some of the family are already talking about going again.
-
"The Granary is a great place to hold a large get-together for family or friends!"
We found the whole house to be extremely well-equipped, welcoming and homely. The games room was an added bonus that was appreciated by the children. Our thanks to Karen, the Property Manager, who was very pleasant and helpful and kept in touch both before and during our stay. Downsides? Be prepared for a long and bumpy drive along the farm track to get to the Granary from the road. Oh - and make sure to take your wellies! It’s surrounded by farmland and the walks are very muddy!
-
"Overall we had a lovely family weekend away at the Granary."
The travel directions on the Sykes information were very poor but the property manager helpfully directed us to accurate and comprehensive directions on the Pitchford Estate website. We needed 7 rooms but were surprised and a little horrified to discover 2 of the double rooms whilst ensuite didn't have any privacy screening around the toilets! The Games Room was unheated and very draughty so, given the sub zero temperatures over our weekend, it was largely unusable which was a great shame as that was one of the USPs when we booked. None of us had a phone signal at the Granary and WiFi was poor and only available in the main living room area which was a surprise and those of us who had taken work to do found it quite difficult to get anything done. There was no satellite/TV signal so we tried to watch programmes via the Iplayer but it regularly buffered making watching TV no longer enjoyable. We had taken our own DVDs which was lucky as those at the Granary were mainly suitable for children. We were disappointed at the small amount of logs provided for the log burner and these only lasted the first night. We needed the log burner lit to supplement the radiators in the evenings so managed to scavenge some wood from the Estate and then had to buy logs from local shops. Overall the property is looking a little tired and worn and in need of a little TLC. Although not directly related to the accommodation, we were very disappointed to see a local hunt with hounds and terrier men using the fields around the property and were concerned enough about the welfare of a number of sheep in the field next to the property that we contacted the farmer who was sadly not minded to take any timely action to help animals in clear distress.
-
"A beautiful property and a lovely place for a gathering"
-
"We spent the weekend with our family (including 4 grandchildren aged 7,7,9 &11 and 2 dogs) celebrating a “big” birthday."
The property is ideal for a party weekend in the country. It is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The sports hall is great and was well used. The grass area is enclosed and secure making it good for the dogs. This was the second time we have stayed at this property. We loved it and would certainly return again.
-
"Karen, the property manager, was very helpful and couldn't have done more."
This is a great property, the space you have is amazing, but if your expecting luxury accommodation you will be disappointed, I guess that is reflected in the price. Its all just a bit tired. Considering it sleeps 14 people, the kitchen is quite poorly equipped....no usable frying pan and only 3 tiny baking trays (big enough for 3 decent slices of bacon!) feeding everyone at breakfast time was a bit of a nightmare! The showers and shower heads were mouldy and there's no locks on any of the bedroom or bathroom doors. My husband and I slept in room G, at the end of the bedroom wing and there were squirrels living in the roof.... they started having a party up there every morning from 5.00am! The WiFi is virtually non-existent, which can be great to have a break as long as you know about it, but unfortunately some of our party have Internet businesses and couldn't reply to enquiries etc. Also, there is nowhere to hang clothes in the bedrooms. On the whole we had a great time, because of the company and the space we had....there are just lots of little niggles about the place and if they were sorted it would be an amazing place to stay.
Thank you for your feedback. The issues raised have been discussed and will all be rectified shortly. We are upgrading the WIFI with another company and this should be done in the next week to improve speeds. If any guest has an issue during their stay , please contact us as we are always happy to assist. Thank you again for your comments. Property Owner

"We had a fantastic stay, celebrating my mums 70th with all the family."
The kids loved the games room and it was brilliant having so much space. Had read previous reviews stating the postcode was incorrect on the listing so double checked with Karen the owner, who was very helpful. We were also emailed by her a few days before (this went to my junk so look out for it). I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the place given how big it was. Agree a hot tub would be a great asset. Although a little remote, we visited Blists Hill, Shrewsbury and Attingham National Trust. Thank you so much for a week filled with wonderful memories, after so much time apart in lockdown.
-
"Lovely house well equipped beautifully warm good beds and bed linen and lovely large soft white towels Bit tricky to find but worth effort Some little things to improve."
Shelf in bathrooms Some thing in showers to hold shampoo soap etc Simple shelves in bedrooms rather than large brown wardrobes and dressing tables
-
"Although the beds, sofas & chairs were comfortable, the house was otherwise barely adequately furnished- no hanging space in some bedrooms, nowhere for soap in the showers, no hair driers, no instructions re heating, recycling, disposal of rubbish etc."
The house was cold on arrival & we had to call Karen, the very helpful manager to get it organised properly, then it was great.
-
"Excellent venue to get a big group together for a couple of nights."
We throughly enjoyed our stay, although finding it was very tricky!
-
"We (13 adults) had a wonderful time; the kitchen, living room and games room are all great."
We could have done with more hanging space in some bedrooms. However, the postcode is wrong on the Sykes website (SY5 7DN). The local manager Karen advised us of the correct postcode (SY5 7DS) in due course which was great for our party to find the location. However, Tesco was given the original postcode and it couldn't be changed online without starting from scratch. This wasn't possible but, as it was only one letter out, we hoped they'd find us as they might have been before. Obviously not. After lots of phone calls, we had to go and fetch our substantial order from Tesco in Shrewsbury. Sykes Cottages: please amend the postcode on your website.

"We had an amazing time here and made the most out of all the facilities especially the he game room."
It is a good place for a secluded getaway with friends and family.

"The location of the property Lovely scenery and wildlife Beautiful part of the country"

"Would be fab if a hot tub was installed in the garden ."

"The Granary was a fantastic building with plenty of room to cater for large groups/families."
It's position in the middle of nowhere, but next to a small working farm within a large estate, was great for us and a brilliant experience. We were a family of 6 people and it did serve us well, although a little big. The kitchen was well stocked but was missing a must important piece of equipment - a corkscrew. The large fridges and freezers were great but no door storage. The large range was a feature and easy enough to use. Plenty of bedrooms for all of us, all with their own ensuite is a great selling point for this property. Then there is the suspended log fire. Beautiful. Would have been nice to have smaller logs to put on though. The ones provided were rather large. However, it did not go without its drawbacks. There wasn't always a bath math provided and so had to use a towel. We couldn't work the washing machine and there were no instructions. We didn't use the dish washer as it looked quite muggy and unclean. One or two of the bathroom basin felt as though they had a rescue on them. But the biggest thing I found was the dust on the sofas. They had obviously not been moved and patted down for some time. Even the spiders had taken up permanent residence. Now I know it was a Granary with brick walls inside and out which by its nature creates dust all the time and it was always going to be rustic rather than pristine, but the sofas had obviously never been been hoovered or puffed up for some time. Even though we were the first in from the Covid 19 ongoing situation, I felt it had been left during lockdown and not freshen up before we went in. This of course did not spoil our overall enjoyment of the place, the landscape and nature within it, but I would expect more in the way of cleaning, freshing and keeping on top of this beautiful building. I would be happy to return again with a larger group to make it more cost effective even though it had been reduced due to numbers by the pandemic.
