  • "We had a lovely time staying at The Parlour."

.it is in a lovely quiet secure area. The Parlour has been done to a high spec and there is a lot more facilities than an average caravan...the hob is amazing and the oven is great to..we had a little problem with the washing machine but Stuart arrived quickly and fixed it for us...The only negatives is that there was a lot of cobwebs there and the skirting boards in the main bathroom hasn't been cleaned...there is a vacuum and sweeping brush there so I cleaned them...also even though the main bedroom is luxurious the other 2 bedrooms aren't great for adults...the bottom bunk is a few inches off the floor and not easy to get in and out of if your an older adult or for someone with disabilities...I found the stairs ok but other members of the family didn't but the beds upstairs are very comfortable but the room isn't ideal for tall people ...the showers are amazing though and the under floor heating is excellent...I would recommend The Parlour to others.

  • "The Parlour is a beautiful property and the kitchen was very well equipped."

The only thing we could not use was the coffee machine as there were no instructions or details of what type of coffee pods to use in it. Sitting out on the decking was very relaxing watching the wildlife and listening to the birds singing and the garden area surrounding the property was well secured for our dog. Cleaners need to pay attention to dusting the artificial plants and removing cobwebs from the chandeliers in the main bedroom, but otherwise it was very clean. We could have done with a small shelf in the en-suite to put contact lenses and tooth brush items on. Plenty of places to visit locally and Ludlow and Chester were well worth a visit. We had a lovely relaxing stay.

The staircase up to the first floor is not suitable For most people,as the treads are very close Together you have to be very careful when coming down, and the lack of anywhere to hang clothes is a problem, The pictures do show no wardrobes but they would be a good addition,

Good base for exploring local area. It was wonderful to sit in the garden & listen to nothing but birdsong, definitely a great place to relax.

  • "The Parlour is a fantastically unique, rural family stay, but it needs a little more TLC."

The initial impression was what we had pictured, but as we started going about our day we noticed a few things that could’ve made our stay even better! For those who love to cook, as we do, there was a lack of basic utensils provided. The loft bedroom was a fun addition and we expected the stairs to be tricky, but it is hard to explain to a 2 year old to stay away from them! A portable foldable safety gate could be a good option to deter little ones! There was a few cleanliness issues throughout the property, mainly dust build up behind the TVs and other places. For example, we turned the tv to face the kitchen and load of dust fell down onto the floor. Thought it worth a mention for those who suffer from respiratory conditions like asthma. There were also a couple of maintenance problems with the blind in the kitchen, en-suite basin and leaky tap to the family shower. Also the towels were lovely and clean, but rough as cardboard! So might be time to change them. Our little boys loved their daily visits from Doug the Pug, who we think belongs to the owners of the property. He was very funny and looked so cool in his bow tie! For those who aren’t overly keen on dogs - be on the look out for Doug, as he loves to come and say hello! Overall, we loved our stay and we believe with these little touch ups that The Parlour will forever be a fantastic family holiday experience for all! Thank you for our stay :)

  • "We found the property very comfortable, clean and homely."

The beds were very comfortable, the showers were great and the kitchen was very well equipped. We would happily return to the Parlour. We did notice a few bulbs were blown, the kettle wasn't working very well and also if there had been information on the heating/hot water programmes, it would have made our stay perfect.

  • "Had a lovely stay with my 93 year old mother who is a wheelchair with a broken ankle."

One bed up spiral stairs but she had her own bedroom/en-suite downstairs and all was easy on one level for her. Her only comment to make it even more perfect would be a clock in the kitchen/sitting room and a long mirror somewhere. The gardener Tony was marvellous. Will definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "Fantastic holiday."

The cottage was exactly as described, spacious, comfortable and with a wonderful terrace with views of the countryside. Lovely walks around the nearby fields too. The stairs to the bedroom on the upper floor would be a bit challenging for someone elderly or (as the listing points out) young, for example if getting up in the night, but you just need to bear that in mind if relevant. The property was easy to find, easy to access. It is down a private road but it is well maintained so no problem with potholes etc. Although next to another holiday let and the owners' home we were not overlooked and were left to enjoy our holiday in peace. The kitchen is also spacious and has a great hob! We hope to be back soon.

However the bathroom bin had not been emptied from previous guests. Ensuite bathroom had no soap. I would also recommend collecting grass cuttings when cutting the grass as we all walked them into the property. Having run my own successful holiday cottage, I feel a welcome pack is welcoming . Being able to make a cup of tea after a long journey is lovely.

  • "Fantastic property in a rural setting - very peaceful."

The house was tastefully decorated, had all the mod-cons required by a family and was very comfortable. There was an outside patio area with a barbecue. Owner on site and very helpful if you have a problem. The en-suite bedroom was wonderful and it was great to have twin beds in the second bedroom. Just had to be careful going up and down the spiral staircase. The third bedroom is children bunk-beds. We enjoyed the surrounding area - we played golf and found 3 excellent courses within a 10 mile radius. Would highly recommend this property

  • "Fantastic property!"

This was a short break for the family (myself, husband, 15 year old daughter & 10 year old son) & the first time we've brought the 6 month puppy away with us so we were slightly nervous about how it would go but we didn't need to worry at all! The house is gorgeous - beautifully kept with everything you could want. We've stayed in many places over the years and this would be one of the very best we've ever stayed at. Lovely for the humans and the puppy - felt very peaceful and not at all stressful for the few days we had. Internet access for the children (because lets face it - they can't go away without it!) Smart TV's that we were able to log onto our Netflix account on & generally a sense of calm. Lovely few days in a lovely house - massive credit to the owners who have really thought of everything & kept it all fresh and new.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again. Stuart & Julie Property Owner

Very comfortable beds and lovely homely touches such as fairy lights and electric candles. The property had everything we needed and more! There is plenty of outdoor space and our dog was safe to roam around as there is mesh around the bottom of the fence so he could not escape. Very near to supermarkets, Tesco just 4 miles away. Watched lots of films on Netflix and good WiFi signal. Loved sitting outside listening to the wildlife and watching the squirrels running around, very tranquil, we will be definitely visiting again, outstanding property.

  • "We had a lovely stay at the Parlour, made all the better by the glorious September weather!"

The hosts were friendly and eager to please. Perfect accommodation for us as a couple. However it wouldn’t be suitable (as stated in blurb) for younger children or the elderly to climb the stairs to the upstairs room. Third bedroom (bunks) only suitable for tiny people. Finished to a high standard but as a woman of a certain age, I found the synthetic bedding uncomfortably warm; in cooler weather this might be fine. Outside space is lovely, but our smallish dog soon learned how to climb through the large railings, meaning we either had to watch him closely or restrict his outside time! Some lovely features- I particularly liked the outside solar lighting!

It’s like staying in a little version of a grand designs property, beautifully built and decorated to feel spectacular yet incredibly cosy at the same time. It was very nice to have the use of the fields to walk around and explore with our 8 year old too, who loved finding all sorts of creatures. The beds are really comfortable, the showers powerful and the sofas entice you to stay and relax. The kitchen is well equipped and you will find little touches here and there to make things just that little bit lovelier. It was a bit extravagant for us to stay as a little family of three, but we are already talking about booking again, we haven’t felt this relaxed in a long time!
