"Lovely little cottage in the heart of Buxton, surrounded by beautiful walks and fabulous pubs."
The Grooms Cottage was the ideal location for our family break, with the added bonus of the hot tub to soak in after a day’s exploring, we loved it!
Such a glowing review Sarah, thank you so so much! We are delighted that you love Grooms house as much as us, please come back and visit soon! Property Owner

"Had a wonderful break with friends."
The accommodation was perfect. Having the hot tub was great too. We were able to walk from the cottage into the beautiful village. Would highly recommend and would definitely return again.

"Excellently equipped."
Great location. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there. Not ideal for 4 adults as second bedroom a bit small
Janet, Happy to hear your feedback, we understand the size of the second bedroom may not be ideal for all, but we are certainly glad that you enjoyed the Groom's House location and amenities. We certainly hope you come back and visit us again! Property Owner

"Thank you for a lovely stay."
The weather wasn’t with us but that did not detract from the warmth and comfort of the cottage. Right in the middle of things with the pavilion gardens close by for my puppies early morning walk before heading out for a longer walk in the beautiful surroundings. Thank you
Benedict, Thank you so much for expressing your satisfaction! We are in a very good location to explore Buxton, and so glad puppy enjoyed the walks. Please come see us again soon! Property Owner

"The property was clean and well decorated."
..the hot tub was lively and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was quite small...lucky we didn't bring our grown up sons, they would not have fitted the beds. I could have done with being able to dry my swimmimg costume on the heated towel rail. It was a bit rough outside the property...I wouldn't have wanted to be there on my own at night..the lighting was poor...I wouldn't want my mum as a solo traveller booking it for example.
Hi Jane, we’re pleased that you enjoyed your stay including use of the hot tub and fully stocked kitchen. Whilst many guests have found the single beds comfortable and convenient, we know that they aren’t suited to every guests’ needs and have been considering creative ways to enhance the setup of the second bedroom. We’re sorry that you felt let down by the area, but we would have to disagree with claims that it is unsafe or ‘rough’. The property is located in a residential area, primarily surrounded by family homes, and within walking distance of Buxton’s best attractions. We’ve always found it very quiet, especially at night, and have never received negative feedback about the area before. Property Owner

"Lovely place, modern and clean, good kitchen, lovely hot tub, great location, easy parking!"
Only slight negative was twin bedroom being quite small with small beds.

"We had a great time, the property is beautiful and cosy with everything we needed."
It was lovely to have a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on arrival as well! Our stay was made even better by the amazing communication, any questions we had were answered so quickly which was brilliant. What a beautiful cottage in a great part of the Peak District! Thank you
We are so glad you had a great experience and really appreciate the time you took to give us a review! We would love to host you again in the future. Property Owner

"The property had excellent amenities throughout, loved the bottle of fizz that you left for my sister and I."
The property was clean, nicely decorated and well located for Buxton Town Centre. It was quiet and the hot tub is nicely located so it feels very private and away from any prying eyes. Would recommend this to all my friends and very reasonable for the long weekend.
We appreciate your feedback. So glad you found your stay comfortable and enjoyed the bubbly too, a home away from home is what we strive for. Please do come visit again soon! Property Owner

"Not enough water in the hot tube after 24 hours."
No solution was provided by the staff. Also no soap or shampoo provided at the property for the shower. Apart from that. Experience was good.
We appreciate your feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay overall. Not offering soap and shampoo is a business decision that can be revisited, thank you for the suggestion. We ensure that the hot tub is in good working order and properly cleaned and filled before and after every guest, with no previous concerns about water level. It was unfortunate that the weather was -9 and staff were unable to make it out to the property due to the road conditions, but even if they had, the pipes were frozen due to the snowy and cold conditions. "The cottage was perfect for what we were looking for, it had everything you could possibly need."
The hot water bottles were a much appreciated touch during the freezing November weekend!
We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and the water bottles helped to make you feel at home! We hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

"Comfortable and well appointed, ideal central location for Buxton and the surrounding area, minor niggle, my wife couldn't plug in hairdryer to use the mirror in the bedroom and from me it stated there was sky TV, found the sky remote but no sign of sky box lol."
Would definately recommend for couples and small families
Thank you for your feedback. We are incredibly pleased that you enjoyed your stay, and that you would recommend it - your comments are greatly appreciated. Please note, the property does have a SkyTV box, and this is located right next to the living room television. Thank you again, and we hope to welcome you again in the future! Property Owner

About the location
BUXTON
Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.
It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
