  • "We had a wonderful week at Wren Cottage."

The owner (Chris) couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The cottage was immaculate, spotlessly clean throughout and everything was provided. We particularly liked the underfloor heating as it was October and chilly in the evenings when the sun went down - but the cottage was always toasty and warm. Wren Cottage is ideally sited for visiting many local attractions like Jodrell Bank for instance, and it is close to the canal - and the owner has provided detailed descriptions of many local walks. I can say no more than we'll definitely be back again - and this cottage comes highly recommended with a 5 Star rating. Thank you Chris - for a wonderful stay at Wren Cottage !!

  • "Really nice property, but needed a really good clean."

Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Leak from gutter, meaning everytime you entered or left, a drip fell on you. No proper kitchen waste bin, which made it difficult. Shower mat was a bit disgusting. Could have done with some more cutlery, and the crockery plates and dishes were far too heavy. Underfloor heating worked well, and all the above could be easily sorted

We can assure our guests that the cottage was thoroughly cleaned before their arrival. Because the building was formerly a barn, its structure and rural location means that we cannot guarantee that spiders will not find their way in, particularly at this time of year when the weather turns colder. We do our best to remove spiders and their webs as part of the cleaning regime. We are aware of the drip from the gutter at times of heavy rainfall and are in the process of fixing it. The shower mat was only recently purchased. If the guests had contacted us during their stay, we would have gladly replaced it. Finally, since we began letting Wren and its sister cottage Swallow over two years ago, we have not received any complaints about the amount of cutlery or the weight of the crockery, or, for that matter, about cleanliness. We decided to use crockery that was fairly robust in order to reduce breakages. Property Owner

  • "Wren Cottage is a lovely property."

Well appointed and comfortable. Itis in a lovely and very convenient setting. The owners are also very attentive o their visitors' needs, coming to fix a problem with the heating and hot water very selflessly on Christmas Day. Thank you. There is just a need to correct a slightly misleading statement in the listing. There is a small freezer compartment in the refridgerator but not a separate freezer.
