"Fantastic cottage, high quality all round."
Excellent value for money.

"Geraldene was a lovely cottage to spend 5 nights in."
We had very clear instructions and information before arriving, and arrived to find the cottage spotless, with some complementary bread, jams and cakes, which was a lovely touch. The village it’s in is quiet, but has a Co-Op and pub on the doorstep. We walked down to Holmfirth a few times which was easy to do (about 20/25 minutes) and had plenty of places to eat and drink. There are beautiful walking routes from the cottage, and plenty to do a short drive away. The hot tub was a great addition. We had an issue where the power for jets on the hot tub had tripped, but Rob helped us over the phone straight away to find the plug and reset it. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay - thank you.

"Geraldene is a lovely place to stay and exceeded expectations."
The property is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners are thoughtful and attentive and have made excellent use of the outdoor and indoor space. The wood fired hot tub is very special indeed. And the walks from the cottage enable easy access into nature and to Holmfirth town. We look forward to our return visit.

"An amazing place to stay, I'm a fussy person and would say things that I thought needed doing, but I can with full confidence say this beautiful home with a holiday feel will give you a relaxed and calming time away."
And all this at an affordable price which is had to come by, thank you for our stay
-
"It was a lovely well cared for property with everything you could wish for."
The owner was incredibly helpful. If you're looking to stay in a property in the area then you couldn't do any better.
-
"Lovely cottage, the size what's just right."
Great surroundings. Definitely felt like a little hideaway. Bed was incredibly comfy and warm. Hot tub was amazing once at temperature but the length of time and attention needed to get to that point could be a bit frustrating as you can't really head out for a walk and return, and just flick a switch. A few more big throws would be a good idea. Part of a cottage getaway in the winter is to wrap up all cozy together, there was only one fairly thin throw on the sofa.
-
"Brilliant location, owners were very informative and helpful."
Unfortunately due to weather couldn't use hot tub, but a lovely facility. Maybe next time.
-
"Really beautiful and well-kept cottage, everything had been thought of by the hosts."
-
"A weeks stay in Geraldene was fantastic."
The hosts could not have done more to ensure every facility , for every eventuality was provided for. Luxurious bed and bedding, along with homemade treats. Highly recommended, will return
-
"This is one of the most romantic impeccably clean properties I have ever stayed in."
It is a little bit of luxury in an idyllic picturesque part of Yorkshire. The owners left homemade and locally made treats and the hot tub was amazing. My partner deemed it the perfect place to propose. I literally would score 10/10 across the board for this adoreable cottage. Would love to return.

"Our stay was amazing."
Rob and Julie clearly went to a lot of effort to make our stay great and it was much appreciated. We stayed for the week of Christmas and they had setup a Christmas tree for us as well as decorations around the house, hot chocolate complete with whipped cream, marshmallows, and much more. Would love to return! Thank you!

"Great facilities, everything you could ever need."
Owners/hosts are lovely, cannot fault anything. Found the property to be a little cold at times even with heating on but that is just one of those things! A lovely break, thank you for the hospitality

"The cottage is ideal for the kind of stay we had."
We used it as a base for walking in West Yorkshire. Comfortable and very clean. Everything we needed to prepare breakfast, light lunches or snacks. I may have found it a bit hard to cook a meal as the kitchen was quite small. Great place to stay.

"Had a very lovely weekend at Geraldine, Rob and Julie went to great lengths to endure the cottage along with its additional goodies were excellent."
It’s very rare that we find such a well equipped cottage, for us every comfort from home was found, from the cloth napkins on the table, to the red & white wine and water glasses in the kitchen. Geraldine is a true credit to its lovely owners, thank you both.

"Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area."
The whole package really is 5 star. We would highly recommend. The local pub and shop are pretty much on your doorstep, and the surrounding area has lots of nice walks. There are also plenty of places to eat day or night a 20 min walk or short drive down the road in Holmfirth. There were lovely tasty welcome goodies on arrival and the cottage is decorated and appointed to a very high standard. I don't think there is any thing the hosts haven't thought of and they are on hand to help with anything you need.

"The cottage was very welcoming, clean and cosy the moment we arrived."
It is well decorated and furnished to make everything comfortable and a very relaxing atmosphere. We stayed a week and were very content to spend long periods of time relaxing in the lounge. The fire is excellent and the views from the bedroom window are lovely. The kitchen is a bit small but adequate, and we were happy with all of the amenities such as coffee machine, and some jams etc. provided for arrival. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it for others.

""Geraldene" was a fabulous find."
The owners have done a wonderful job in making the cottage so cosy, and we enjoyed the tasty welcome pack of milk, fresh bread, brownies, shortbread and spreads. Even though the evenings weren't too chilly, we enjoyed making use of the woodburner stove. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of essentials for preparing meals, and also has a great filter coffee machine. The woodburner hotub was a lovely bonus, for relaxing in the evenings. The village of Wooldale is lovely and peaceful, with a pub and shop on the doorstep. Holmfirth is close by for eating out / takeaways The owners were so friendly and very helpful.

Such a delightful cottage we were relaxed from the minute we arrived. We really felt that the owners had gone above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Every detail in the property is thought of, bathrobes, slippers , fabulous toiletries! The kitchen is so well stocked and flasks are provided for walking. We felt like we were in a 5 star hotel but with all the home comforts you might wish for. Just the right amount of decoration to make you enjoy the touches and very tasteful ones too. We settled in quickly and found everything had been thought of in each room. We had a comfy bed, cosy living room, fully equip kitchen and a spacious bathroom for a cottage. We enjoyed the log fire and hot tub which added to the holiday vibe. We had some lovely walks in the area and the enjoyed the beautiful views Homfirth has to offer. The town centre is a manageable walk away and has enough to occupy a few hours. The pub around the corner is nice. We had a drink in there early new years eve. A quaint and quiet area which is perfect for relaxing in. We'd recommend and hope to be back. Rob and Julie are the perfect hosts.

"We arrived at the cottage to be met by beautiful fresh flowers in an amazing lounge with log burner."
Into the immaculate kitchen to find fresh bread and butter milk and honey jam and marmalade cake and biscuits waiting for us. What a special touch. Lovely. The cottage lacked nothing. The WiFi was excellent with plenty of t.v channels. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need including a washing machine and full size cooker. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Upstairs the bathroom with good powerful shower over the bath again was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable too. Towels and bed linen were of the highest standard as was everything else. Then the hot tub. WOW, What a bonus this was. Fired by logs it was amazing to sit in if of a night with a glass of wine after a day out walking . The area is beautiful as well, Plenty to do Lots of walks .Plenty of eateries in Holmfirth. We walked down about 20 mins and got a taxi back for a mere £4. About the location
HOLMFIRTH
Peak District National Park 3 miles; Meltham 4 miles
The old traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth is situated in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, there is more to Holmfirth than Compo and Nora Batty’s stockings! The ‘Picturedrome’, the North of England’s finest live music venue attracts many famous bands and is located right in the centre of the town. The pelotons from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire have both been through this quaint Holme Valley town en route to the iconic 524 metre Holme Moss climb two miles away. It is in these hills where cycling’s triple Olympic Medalist Ed Clancy grew up. Holmfirth also has a good public swimming pool and fitness centre, parks and some super shops and restaurants. The people here are friendly, the streets are quaint and the scenery is breathtaking. The Peak District National Park with its moors, dales, forests, lakes and reservoirs is also easily accessible. The Upper Derwent Valley, home to the spectacular Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs, and where the famous 617 ‘Dambusters’ Squadron practiced the audacious bombing raid on the Ruhr valley in 1943, is only a short scenic drive away. Slightly further is Chatsworth, the stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and situated close to the market town of Bakewell, the home of Bakewell Puddings. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The National Coal Mining Museum, Wentworth Castle, and the Hepworth Gallery are also within short drives away and well worth a visit. For a spot of culture, Holmfirth has annual festivals with many more attractions that bring visitors back for more; such as the Folk, Arts, and Food & Drink Festivals. Also not to be missed, is Holmfirth Vineyard and Restaurant, where you can book wine tasting tours and enjoy a lovely meal in the restaurant.
