After an exhilarating morning exploring the local area, return to the comfort of the convenient boot room and remove your mud-splattered wellies and coats, before moving your way into the kitchen for a delicious cup of tea.

Admire the striking steel range cooker as you gather ingredients from the American fridge freezer, preparing a mouth-watering feast for the whole family to enjoy as you take a seat at the lovely round dining table and raise a glass to making memories with your loved ones on another unforgettable escape.

Discover a well-placed ground-floor cloakroom with both a basin and WC, before retiring to the relaxing ambiance of the sitting room, emanating character from its exposed stone walls and traditional woodburning stove.

Embark on an enchanting stroll along the Peak Hidden Trails or challenge yourself with a hike up Bleaklow, just a short drive away.

Soak up the local history on a trip to the town of Radcliffe, where you will find the 15th century remains of Radcliffe Tower and the nearby Tythe Barn.

Over in Bury lie the remains of Bury Castle and the Grade II listed building of Holy Trinity Church.

Enjoy a family day out to the Lancaster Park and Animal Farm to meet the friendly horses and charming goats, before heading off to the well-kept landscapes of Heaton Park and hopping on a vintage tram and the Tramway Transport Museum.

Huddersfield 13.8 miles; Manchester 13.9 miles; Buxton 26.9 miles.

Resting in between the bustling market town of Huddersfield and the thriving city of Manchester, is the civil parish of Saddleworth, comprising of several villages and hamlets, covering a northern area of the Peak District National Park. Historically, Saddleworth has its roots in the textile industry, becoming a centre for cotton spinning and weaving after the Industrial Revolution, with one of its most notable structures, the Saddleworth Viaduct, built to help the transport of goods to major cities. Nowadays, you can enjoy the lovely villages which are scattered amongst rural countryside, with ten reservoirs to its name and an excellent 18-hole golf course at Saddleworth Golf Club. Delight in walks around Dovestone Reservoir, where an easy access path guides you along the waters, stopping on the way at Chew Brook to explore the rocks and dip your toes in the running stream, with two further reservoirs, Greenfield and Yeoman Hay, to explore you can extend your walk however much you like. As well as wildlife spotting, horse riding, climbing and its own sailing club here too, you are sure to find something for every taste. Head into the heart of the Peaks and incorporate Howden Dam into a ramble, or get to know the luscious landscape of Snake Woodland. Take a day trip into Manchester, home of the Palace Theatre, the National Football Museum, and the Manchester Art Gallery, just some of the wonderful places you can enjoy while you visit, amidst the wide array of astounding restaurants and cafés here too.
