The property

The Old Telephone Exchange is a stunning holiday home located in the lovely village of Marsden, in West Yorkshire.

With its close proximity to the Peak District National Park and bustling cities like Manchester and Leeds, this property is perfect for families, groups and their furry friends wanting the best of a rural retreat and a city break.

Inside this beautiful home you'll find a spacious contemporary kitchen where you can whip up delicious meals to enjoy with your family around the dinner table.

There's also a sitting room with plush sofas to sink into for your family movie nights on the Smart TV.

When sleep calls, unwind with a bath or shower in the pristine bathroom then retreat to one of four bedrooms to catch your rest.

Explore the lovely village by heading over to National Trust - Marsden Moor for a hike across craggy peaks and fields where you'll marvel at incredible sweeping views, for a touch of history visit Standedge Tunnel, Britain's longest canal tunnel, and if you don't feel like making dinner, head over to Mazza's for some delicious sandwiches!

Marsden railway station is a short walk with trains to Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield and Sheffield.

Staying local you can also expect to find Marsden Mechanics which is a lovely live music venue, The New Inn for a bit of traditional pub grub and Marsden Fruit & Veg for some fresh produce every day!

Keen walkers will enjoy a stroll to The Watersedge cafe by the end of the canal tunnel for a nice bit of coffee and cake before taking a boat ride down the canal.

Nearby is Slaithwaite which has many places of interest sixch as Annello for some truly amazing pizzas, Shaw Fields for a nice bit of afternoon hiking and finally Vanilla Bean for some ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth!

A short drive will take you to the wonderful city of Manchester where shopaholics will enjoy a trip to the world-renowned and ornate Trafford Centre with over 200 stores, if you're travelling with children make sure to check out LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and treat yourselves to some mouthwatering brunch at Evelyn's Cafe & Bar.

Further afield you'll find the stunning city of Leeds where you can visit Leeds City Museum, make your way to Tropical World for one of the UK's largest tropical plant and animal collections and why not end the day with some riverside dining at The Lock?

A stunning picturesque village in the Colne Valley in West Yorkshire. Marsden is a former mill village dominated by charming stone buildings, fantastic scenery and a beautiful canal home to the only professional theatre company to tour by Narrowboat. Marsden offers awards winning restaurants, ancient pubs and a National Trust owned Marsden Moor, a village that has appeared in the TV shows 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'The League of Gentleman'. The village hosts many festivals and events throughout the year including the Marsden Jazz Festival held every October. Marsden is popular among walkers and was awarded Walkers are Welcome status in 2010. The village is just a short drive away from the Peak District National Park and is well worth a visit for you outdoors people. Huddersfield is a short drive away, a beautiful city as well as Manchester within driving distance which offers a different and more busy trip, ideal for shopping.
