Spotlessly clean, well equipped and well situation for pubs, restaurants and shops. The cottage had everything we needed and would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

Two of lounge seats past their best On plus side is the great situation of property being close to town with a nice view from upstairs The kitchen is good along with the main bathroom with excellent shower

Wonderful neighbours who lent me their washing line. A beautiful home with amazing views. Constructive feedback; the quality of the bottom sheet was itchy, not helpful for the best nights sleep. 5ft double bed would have been more comfortable. Overall an excellent stay in a prime location. Parking outside a bonus. Thank you

It is not a comfortable house to stay in, the only bath is literally waist high and has the be accessed by a 2 step ladder to get into the bath it’s a really weird set up. Anstruther is pleasant but we would not stay in this house again.

Nice property. Well presented. Very well equipped kitchen and good WiFi and Freeview. Central heating was very effective so house is nice and cosy. Great location for Anstruther town centre and close to facilities like restaurants.

  • "Lovely property well situated for Anstruther town and all the sites and facilities."

Everything you could possibly need in the house and the view from the upstairs kitchen and lounge were lovely. The house was always warm and cosy and the hot water plentiful. Incredible amount of light switches to try to fathom! Two issues on cleanliness: fork and knife covered with green mould found in the dishwasher, and more instructions on oven needed - had to google to find out that the time has to be set in order for the grill and oven to heat up. One issue on facilities and maintenance: seems to be an old Volvo right outside property in car park which obviously had not moved for a long while - flat tyres, SORN’d and MOT expired. Glad we were not sitting out on decking with a G&T enjoying a summers evening looking at that.

  • "The cottage is perfectly positioned for access to the harbour, shops, cafes, restaurants, dog walks etc."

The off road parking was really useful too. We were there during storm Babet but were very sheltered, although still able to watch the waves crashing over the harbour walls! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a good range of kitchen appliances, crockery etc. If a king-sized bed could be squeezed in, in place of the double bed, that would be even more comfortable! We had a great week and will definitely visit again.

  • "The cottage was wonderfully equipped, but, needs a little attention."

For example the Bosch oven does not work because it leaks to earth. Likewise the jacuzzi. Neither was a problem to us as we mainly ate out. The owner needs to visit. Overall a great stay!

It was lovely and spacious and a great base to tour the beautiful Fife coast. It was great for the dog lots of dog friendly places to walk and go. A couple of tiny minor things with the cottage, which I'm sure will be simple to rectify. It was an otherwise perfect week away.

The furnishings and fittings are very high spec, and the cottage was really clean and well maintained. A lot of thought has clearly gone into the colour schemes. It felt like a home from home as soon as we walked in the door, and we'd love to return in the future.

Highly recommended, would definitely book again, we had amazing weather and the beach at Elie just down coast about 10 mins in car was fantastic for families, children and pups, thank you to Mel and Stuart who brilliantly sorted out a couple of little hiccups we had. The welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated.

We had a great holiday and lovely weather for time of year. The courtyard setting is nice and sheltered with your own parking space. It is well equipped and comfortable with views of the sea over the rooftops. Unfortunately we couldn’t manage to get in the bath as I’m a bit wobbly and didn’t feel safe when trying to climb in, we would have preferred an ordinary bath! This aside, everything else was just right and great value for money

  • "The house is spotlessly clean and well equipped, it was lovely."

The front door is gated so my dogs didn’t run out into the courtyard, which was very handy. There is a terraced area at the front of the house, it is for your use, but it is not enclosed or private, so be careful if you have dogs or young children as the opening to the courtyard opens on to a main road. A great base for exploring the surrounding area or for a quiet relaxing time.

Our dogs loved their walks on nearby grass area and sandy beach. Beautiful sea views from upstairs lounge and kitchen. Very efficient heating when needed. A downstairs shower would have been preferable to the bath but realise that space was limited….a minor gripe! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Anstruther & surrounding area…great property….Thankyou.

Our critisms would have to be the wooden stairs which were narrow and not carpeted. My wife who is disabled had a great deal of difficulty negotiating them. Had we realised there was no bedroom on the first floor we would not have booked the house, Saying all that the house was lovely and clean and under different circumstances we would book again. About the location

ANSTRUTHER

St Andrews 10 miles; Cupar 16 miles; Edinburgh 50 miles.

Anstruther is the principal village on Fife’s East Neuk Coast and was formerly two distinct burghs, Anstruther West and East. The two parts of the village are divided by the Dreel Burn. Anstruther was originally founded as a fishing village and played a major role in the Scottish herring industry. The history is well documented in the Scottish Fisheries Museum sitting alongside the attractive and busy harbour. Now popular with tourists, Anstruther offers many cafes, bars, galleries and restaurants including the award-winning Anstruther Fish Bar, and tourists sit around the harbour enjoying their traditional fish and chips. The harbour is now home to the many pleasure craft offering trips along the coast or to the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth to view the puffin and seal colonies. Across the Forth is Edinburgh and this is easily accessed by car or public transport for an exciting day out. Another popular attraction is the Secret Bunker, a former Cold War nuclear bunker now open to the public. With beautiful coastal walks, the proximity of many golf courses, including St Andrews, Anstruther has so much to offer the visitor.
