  • "Lovely property; exactly as described."

Very handy for the train station (we did the holiday by train) and can easily get to Glasgow or Edinburgh in under an hour (although Stirling itself also has plenty to offer!). The house itself was clean and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Kitchen was well kitted out with some lovely welcome goodies and the living room had plenty of entertainment to choose from. We would definitely visit again.

It's in a central location in a quiet residential area. Beautiful view of the Wallace monument from the back bedroom window which encouraged us to walk up there from the house. Lots to see and do in Stirling. Stirling has a lot of nice restaurants and history. The only comment we can add re the property is that it would benefit from more comfortable beds/mattress and some modernisation. Having said that, we will return!

Both grandchildren aged 7and 3 loved the house especially the big space upstairs. They both did not want to leave. The owner Tricia kept us updated and was extremely helpful. The house was like home to home everything you need and use daily was there. As we travelled up from England by train the location of Ronald Place was ideal. We were a short walk away from both train and bus station enabling us to travel to various places and we were also a short walk away from the town centre.

Ideal location for walking into Stirling and had a view of Wallace monument from bedroom. Well equipped kitchen. Would have loved to have spent time reading the extensive book selection but didn’t get the time. Was a bit worried about street parking but found space in road each time, there is a designated space outside house but this was used a few times but someone else!! Lovely touch to have some dog treats left by owner, we had forgotten to bring some. Neighbours very nice and friendly.

The address is very convenient to the city centre and all the restaurants, shops and pubs - only a 5 - 10 min walk. Also the train station and very inexpensive electrical car charger points were close by. We always found available street parking when needed. Inside , the property was very clean, spacious and well equipped. There were some great little touches adding to the obvious effort the host had made. I would recommend it to a family of five or three lads (as made up our group.) I suspect we will stay again next year. Thanks.

The house is in a lovely setting, close to the river and very quiet, yet only a few minutes walk to the train station and centre of Stirling. It was spotlessly clean and spacious with nice decor and personal items, and very comfortable furniture. The kitchen was probably better equipped than mine at home, and we had the use of really nice china. Beds were extremely comfortable which was very welcome after walking all day, with nice bed linen. Brilliant shower. The little enclosed yard outside the back door is a delight, full of lovely plants and pots. Had the weather not been so good I would have happily spent a few hours going through the extensive book collection! We had lots of fabulous days out; to the Ochil hills at Alva glen, Callander and Queen Elizabeth forest park near Aberfoyle, Dunblane, Stirling University, Blackness Castle and the walk through the forest towards South Queensferry and Dollar with the climb to the castle. We were spoilt for choice and were captivated by everywhere we discovered. The house is in a truly great location for exploring and a delight to come home to.

About the location

STIRLING

Falkirk 12 miles; Glasgow 30 miles.

Stirling is Scotland’s youngest city and yet one that has so much history, specifically Mary Queen of Scots and William Wallace. ‘He who holds Stirling holds Scotland’ was the advice that inspired many famous battles including Bannockburn, and the story of Stirling’s history is evident today in the Old Town, which also boasts family ghost walks and tales from the graveyard. Stirling Castle boasts a superb, dramatic cliff-top location overlooking the city and provides a stunning outlook from its battlements to the mountains, cliffs and winding River Forth snaking away to Edinburgh. The nearby Wallace Monument also offers breathtaking views for those willing to attempt the steps to the top! Stirling is a university town and, as such, has many restaurants, bars and coffee houses as well as extensive shopping facilities. Its central location offers excellent access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, each less than an hour away by car, while closer to home is the historic, Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan.
