"The cottage was an interesting building to stay in and had lots of character."
It was comfortable, especially the beds, well equipped and organised and an excellent base from which to explore the area. In this sense it was ideally placed, with numerous lovely walks within a short car journey - and one, the Rob Roy Way, right on the doorstep. Also excellent eateries and a stunning chocolate shop only 10 minutes walk away. The only draw back was the road outside which was busy at times, though not at night so sleeping was absolutely fine, but would realistically reduce the 5 stars to 4.5. But conversely, this road gave the easy access to the numerous walks. So it's not really something to make a fuss about and we would definitely recommend Tigh Na Rathaid.

"Great place to stay for a short trip (5 days)."
Owners were very kind and left home-made cookies and scones for us! Also recommended a few local places to visit. No complaints whatsoever.
Thank you Niall. We are so pleased you enjoyed the area and the house. Please return! Property Owner

"Spacious and comfortable cottage."
Nice friendly owners live next door and supplied home baked cookies, cake and cheese scones. The only negatives were it could have done with brighter lighting in lounge and bedrooms, a more modern and user-friendly tv, and a manual for the double oven.
Thanks so much for coming to stay in the beautiful area we live in! The 1890 part of the cottage is quite quaint with low ceilings. The 3 lamps in the lounge plus ceiling pendant although ample for the space may benefit from more daylight bulbs! Thank you! The new JVC smart tv was installed August 2024 and the oven manual is in the house instruction booklet. We value your feedback. Thank you, both! Property Owner

"Beautiful comfortable cottage, refurbished to a high standard with everything you need."
Electric piano was a unique bonus. Short walk to a nice pub which does good food and overlooks the River Tay. Owners live nearby and were extremely welcoming.

"We had a lovely time at Tigh Na Rathaid."
We were met by the owner who welcomed us warmly to the cottage. She had provided home made biscuits and had picked flowers from the garden. The cottage was quirky and had plenty of room for us all to either be together or enjoy some quiet time. I would highly recommend this cottage. Sandra

"This is a really lovely house to stay in with every comfort provided."
It is freshly and interestingly decorated and therefore good to 'be there'. Not the least of it is the beautifully kept garden with several options to sit and eat outside. It is fully equipped to a high standard. Everything is made as easy as possible. All grades of music are provided for the high quality piano.
Sandra and Donald - our absolute pleasure having you stay and we’re so glad you enjoyed the house and surrounding area! Please return! Property Owner

William, the owner , most helpful on the local bird life , family fascinated by the volume and variety of birds in the garden - regret we did not get to see the osprey. "We had a lovely stay at Tigh Na Rathaid."
From the warm and friendly welcome, including the lovely home baked cookies, to the lovely walks around the village. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, with the log burners adding to the cosy atmosphere. It was easy to walk into the village for hot chocolate at the Highland Chocolatier and the path along the river was beautiful with the autumn colours. We would certainly like to return.
We are so glad you had a wonderful stay and we’d love to have you back! Property Owner

"Perfect place for a weekend with young children!"
Thank you so much for all the thoughtful touches such as the high chairs, toys and paddling pool. The kids all had a wonderful time, as did the grown ups. I’m always on the look out for good holiday lets with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom as my mother-in-law has some mobility problems. She loves Perthshire so I’m sure we’ll be back at Tigh Na Rathaid.
Thanks, Michele - our pleasure! Delighted you had a great weekend! Property Owner

About the location
ABERFELDY
Pitlochry 14 miles; Perth 31 miles.
The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and also the bridge built for General Wade in 1733, Aberfeldy is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep. An hours drive brings you to 30 Munros, just waiting to be 'bagged'!
