"On arrival we were informed that lodge 11 was unavailable and we have been moved to lodge 1 which was exactly the same, however this lodge was at the very front of the resort, right next to the entrance, communal car park and lodge reception, which has left us with a lodge that provided no privacy unless our curtains were closed."
The listing for this venue is inaccurate and dishonest. The pictures of the lodge and resort give the impression of a larger and luxurious lodge, however on arrival the lodge is quite small and not what the pictured represent. The beds are small and hard, the kitchen is basic with no dishwasher or space to store food despite it being a self catering accommodation, the sofas are not what is shown in the pictures as the ones in the lodge are small and the ensuite smells like sewage. We walked up to lodge 11 and this lodge was exactly the same as lodge 1 with the exception that a car can be parked out the front, whereas we were asked to park our car in the car park. We asked for a different lodge we were given the option of lodge 10 and 15. Lodge 10 was the same as lodge 1 but further up the plot, however the hottub was not on meaning we would not he able to use it the first night of our stay and lodge 15 had no curtains on the front of the lodge, providing no privacy, leaving no choice but to stick with lodge 1. After settling into the lodge it was quickly realised that there was no wifi in the lodge despite this being referenced as a feature of the lodge, meaning the 'smart TV' provided was pointless with only limited free view channels available. The hot tub can only be used until 9pm and despite what the pictures show there are no other facilities available in the evening. The gym and spa area are a far cry from what the pictures show and the large lodge is only really used for weddings, therefore there is nowhere to go to try and use what limited wifi there is in the communal areas. I paid £564 for a two night stay and actually checked out a day early and left feeling frustrated that what I thought I booked was not what I received when we arrived at silverwood resort.
