"Our stay at this house was simply amazing."
The owner and his family are absolutly lovely, they have a huge garden, which you can go in at any time, lots of land to explore and the old house is taken care of with love and passion. The location is in the heart of scotland and therefore perfect to explore the country, go for long walks with an amazing view over city and landscape or just hang out in the cozy flat and read a book with a cup of tea. Overall you get so much comfort for such a low prize, we will definitly come back. Thanks a lot for everything :)

The flat was very comfortable and well equipped, situated in beautiful grounds and surrounding countryside. I would have no hesitation in booking another stay at the property.

"The location of the flat was excellent for the travelling North that we intended to do each day as everywhere that we wanted to visit was within 1 - 1."
5 hours drive away - Scone Palace virtually on your doorstep, The Hermitage at Dunkeld -30 mins, Glamis Castle just over an hour, Braemar Castle 1.5 hours and The Scottish Crannog Centre at Aberfeldy 1.5 hours The flat was very clean and had all the facilities that we required - and then some The central heating and hot water system being very efficient although the week we were there in September was exceptionally warm with the temperatures in the 20s all week Only extremely small gripe was that the mattresses were too soft for us initially but we soon got used to them and had a few unintentional "long lies" The grounds were well kept and were perfect for our daughter's dog as they stayed with us for a couple of nights at the start The town centre is easily accessible either by car in two directions or on foot via a beautiful path and woodland walk for about 1.5 miles and has a Co-op, pubs and a fish and chip shop All in all we had a very pleasurable stay and we would certainly recommend this property

"Lovely gem of a place in beautiful surroundings."
A perfect base being so close to local amenities but set back in the countryside. Restful & great for relaxing. The owners were really helpful and the garden & tennis court a lovely bonus. We will be back!

"The hosts was so friendly and made my self and the rest of my party feel at ease ..."
The hosts was so friendly and made my self and the rest of my party feel at ease and the hole stay was fantastic, the grounds themselves was amazing for my 2 cocker spaniel, as the have a field you can use and let your dogs off and feel so to do so as it was totally in closed and safe for them to run to there hearts content, I’ll be missing my 8am walk around the field as you
It was lovely to meet you and we are so glad you had a good holiday. Thank you for taking the trouble to give such kind feedback. Property Owner

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Scone."
Owners very friendly and helpful. Loved the gardens and the areas where we could walk our dog. Utensils etc were plentiful and well thought out. A couple of minor maintenance areas which were quickly resolved.

"Just spent a lovely week at Stable flat."
Would highly recommend it. Dog friendly. The gardens are beautiful as was the Pinetum. Owners very accommodating. Suggestion would be to have some paper information on local attractions. Also recommendation for places to eat. But we asked and got couple recommendations. It was the best Sykes accommodation we have stayed at to date. We wish the family all the best for their up coming care project.
-
"Wonderful location with excellent genuinely caring friendly hosts."
Very comfortable dog friendly property that met our needs. Only constructive feedback would be to oil the creaking front door. Would return as the stay was perfect.
-
"Lovely stable flat in wonderful grounds."
Owner was there if we needed anything. My only moan would be that it said there was a DVD player and there wasn’t. This would have been useful due to very poor tv reception. We did manage to get our own Google chrome set up to their Wi-Fi which was very good. The weather was particularly good. So managed to get out and sbout

"Absolutely perfect property."
Much nicer and bigger than the photos make out. The beds are comfy and pretty much everything you can think of is provided. Cleanliness was really good too. The owners were lovely, not intrusive but there should you need them. They even provided sledges for our children when it snowed! The WIFI worked well, handy for teenagers. Amazing surroundings with excellent walks. Great for wildlife. Super quiet at night. The flat was lovely and warm as well. We are already planning on coming back.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Property Owner

"Comfortable, clean flat just on the outskirts of Perth."
Great base for exploring the area. Owner Stephen was on hand and very helpful. Lovely grounds. Access would be a little difficult for those not confident on stairs.
I agree the stairs could be a challenge if you are not steady on your feet. We try to keep them swept and in the winter we salt them to make sure they are not icy. Property Owner

"The Stables Flat was perfect for our holiday."
Very well equipped and cosy and in a beautiful location. We particularly enjoyed the grounds and the walk to the pinetum. A very small criticism would be that the kitchen was so well equipped there was no cupboard space for our own food.
-
"All was very fine."
..Except, for us, the mattresses. They were much softer than we like. I have mentioned this to Stephen.
-
"The location is just wonderful and the owners are such lovely people."
We had a fabulous weeks holiday here
-
"Wonderful location with the freedom to use the grounds of the large house which the stables are attached to."
The dogs loved it!
-
"I think the photos and description on Sykes' website don't do this place justice."
The apartment is set within the extensive grounds of a beautiful house and if you are a nature and animal lover it is the perfect place for a holiday. We absolutely loved visiting the horses in the stables right next to the apartment and the two gorgeous alpacas. We also had walks through the gardens up to the pinetum. The apartment itself was extremely clean, cosy and comfortable and very well equipped. If you are looking for a base to explore magnificent Perthshire I cannot recommend The Stables highly enough.

Stunning location with beautiful views. The flat had everything you could need and was very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful (the eggs from his chickens were delicious!). We were visiting family in Perth so it was the perfect location for us. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

"Great place, great on site host - will use again"
-
"The place we stayed was very nice and relaxing very pleasant owners and well worth to stay would highly recommend"
-
"The owner is very friendly and most helpful."
He allows his visitors to use the gardens, an idyll of mature trees and ponds. I even saw a red squirrel. It's very quiet but only short drive from Perth and Scone. The flat is well equipped and very clean. The outside spiral staircase may provide accessibility problems for some. A lovely place.
-
"Great place and location."
-
"Lovely spot just outside Scone."
Plenty of space for the kids who had a great time on the wooden play fortress in the garden, and feeding grass to the horses. We’d definitely stay there again.
-
"We enjoyed the flat, very much, so peaceful and relaxing there."
Stephen was an excellent host and showed us round when we first arrived. I would certainly recommend this flat to friends and family. Thank you .

"We most enjoyed the lovely stable flat , and the beautiful countryside."
The flat was nicely decorated and clean and comfortable. The owners were polite and accommodating. There are some horses in the fields surrounding the property and wonderful nature gardens to walk freely around. There are some fabulous trees , giant cactus, ponds , green fields .. lovely .

"This was a last minute booking as my mother in law was seriously ill and we needed some accommodation urgently."
The lady we spoke to at Sykes could not have been more helpful, understanding or accommodating. A Special thanks to her.

"Came down from Aberdeen & Mintlaw with my Mum & our dogs , for a little break away , beautiful setting very comfortable flat to stay the dogs hit use of their huge garden & lots of fun ."
There is also a tennis court too if you like your sport . The owner was very nice & made sure we had everything & knew how everything worked , always very friendly . So close to Perth , Scone , Dundee , Tillicoultry & Stirling and loads of others too we just never had the time !! The only worry for me was my mum is 75 and still reasonably fit but the stairs up to the flat where for her a wee bit difficult . I’ll defiantly be returning would love to see it in summer . I’d give this a huge rating 10 stars !!!

About the location
SCONE
Perth 2 miles; Dunkeld 16 miles; Dundee 19 miles; Stirling 36 miles.
The village of Scone sits two miles north of Perth, and is correctly called New Scone to differentiate it from Old Scone, which had been a medieval village based around the monastery of Scone Abbey and abandoned in the 19th century. The new village was planned by the Earl of Mansfield, whose family seat is Scone Palace, and began being built in 1805. Old Scone had been the historic capital of Scotland in the Middle Ages and was the coronation venue for Scotland’s monarchs, atop the famous Stone of Scone. Scone Palace dates from the early 1800s in the Georgian Gothic style and is a popular visitor attraction open to the public, with rooms and grounds, including a remarkable pineturn. There is a selection of local shops and amenities in Scone, as well as Perth Racecourse, the two 18-hole Murrayshall golf courses, and a wider range of shops are available in nearby Perth. Scone is in the heart of Macbeth Country with his hill fort at nearby Dunsinane and Birnam Wood at Dunkeld. The attractive village of Dunkeld sits to the north, and the wonderful woodland walks at the Hermitage offer a great day out in the country. A wonderful base for exploring the south east of Scotland.
