  • "Both Bridget and myself fell in love with the cottage as soon as we opened the door."

We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one certainly topped the bill. Perfectly immaculate. We were a wee bit concerned about the 'phone call we received whilst driving home informing us that there was a pillow case missing ??? We could not understand this at at all.

Thank you for the kind feedback about the cottage. We are delighted to hear that Wyndhead Cottage made such a good impression on you and you rated it so highly. The missing pillowcase certainly is a mystery but as you know this was one of a number of issues we were advised by Sykes to contact you about. It is noted that you were unable to help with these matters. The most important thing to us is that all of our guests enjoy their stay and you certainly seem to have done so. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was everything we could wish for - it was clean and the welcome package was most appreciated."

The bed was so comfortable _ I just can't speak highly enough of the whole set up. The only downside for me was that the bathroom was downstairs but that is because I am old and the bathroom is my friend during the night....lol. Lauder is a lovely little village - well set for using as a base to travel around the borders. We went literally everywhere - from the Rosslyn Chapel to Edinburgh to The Kelpies to The Forth Bridges and everywhere in between. I would highly recommend Wyndhead Cottage to anyone - hopefully one day we will be back.

Thank you for your feedback, Pat. It means a lot to us that guests enjoy their stay so glad to hear that Wyndhead Cottage proved a good base for your explorations of the village and surrounding area. It was lovely to have you stay. "Thank coo" so much for your kind gift that was much appreciated. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring Scottish Borders and Edinburgh."

Overall well equipped and comfortable, although as with most properties the beds were too firm for me and I had to use the topper I now take with me as a precaution. Heating wasn't quite enough either and we had to use the boost alot... baring in mind it's Aug I would not like it in winter! Shower extremely powerful so screen was inadequate to keep water in... we were constantly trying to dry towels from mopping up excess water. Parking also very tight and do not feel it's possible to get 2 cars in unless extremely small ones... as the road is quite narrow. The complimentary goodies were lovely especially the homemade scones. Thank you.

We are glad to hear that overall you found the cottage to be well equipped, comfortable and well located. It is unfortunate that the bed was not to your liking but we are sure you appreciate it is impossible to suit everyone in this regard and a medium firm is accepted as the best compromise. With regard to the heating we have a heating schedule in place for an average day's requirement but with guest access to the boost facility to adjust as required, so not sure what your issue was. However we advise all guests that we are on hand to assist with this if necessary. We have not had any prior issues with the shower reported to us but we will investigate further. I can confirm that 2 cars have been parked in the drive on many occasions so not sure what caused your issues. Thank you for your feedback. Regards. Property Owner

  • "Our family had a comfortable and relaxing stay at Wyndhead Cottage."

Our stay in Lauder was at the end of a lengthy visit to the UK and it was truly one of the best places we stayed. Great location within walking distance to the little village with pubs, market, shops. The home was well equipped with everything we needed, immaculately clean, with comfy beds. The only very slight problem was the lack of a clothes dryer machine which meant we had to hang dry our laundry, and considering the frequent rain this proved problematic (thankfully local friends had a dryer at their house). The host was very communicative and quick to respond to any questions we had. They left a tray of treats and fresh milk in the fridge to greet our arrival which was a nice and welcome, much appreciated! Overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for the great feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cottage and the area. We note your comments about the lack of a clothes drier machine but we do not include this as an available facility in our listing. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "Cute little cottage, very convenient location."

Nice and quiet location Property has everything you need for a good week walking and exploring in the borders. The owners had the heating set up nicely, but a few times I felt the cottage was cold, could be the property would benefit from double glazed front and rear doors, and bathroom window too, that said it was very cold for the first part of our visit or maybe that it was a stone cottage and the heat was lost that way. All things considered we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would go again.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the cottage, its location and the surrounding area. Although a heating schedule is set, guests are able to boost the heating at any time and information about this is included in the information folder. Alternatively we are always happy to help. Best wishes. Property Owner

It was spotlessly clean, bright and roomy. Having Netflix on the smart TV was an extra bonus as we didn't go out in the evenings. We also ate in every night and the lovely modern kitchen contained everything we needed. Although the weather wasn't conducive to sitting in the garden, it is bigger than we expected, and we loved watching the antics of the birds flying in and out. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage, we are planning on returning next year. Many thanks to Mary and Brian for the very generous welcome pack - and particularly the scones - they were delicious.
