Such a great place & stunning location. We had to email the owner about something so still awaiting a reply on that. We did say in our comments in the feed back, great kitchen, but some open shelves or a cupboard to stored your own food would be really useful. And maybe instructions on the tap & coffee machine(s) All of that aside we are thinking of re booking for the end of Sept 2025. Loved it.

Beautiful setting. Very comfortable. Only thing would have liked would have been a drawer unit in both en suite bedrooms as we had to share drawer space with other 2 bedrooms. Maybe somewhere in kitchen to store our cereals and bits, otherwise could not fault. Lovely toilet luxuries were very nice touch. Would book again. Thank you.

The automatic light coming on in the en suites was very annoying when using the bathroom during the night, both for dazzling the user and also for disturbing the person who was in the bedroom. However we were very impressed with the range of toiletries throughout the property, the provision of bathrobes, and the laundry facilities.

Both lounge areas were very comfortable after making good use of walks and cycling nearby during the day. Movement sensors on ensuite bathroom lights were an issue as once in the shower the light would go out! With better mattresses fitted this could be a five star house (note single beds are best suited for children).

Initially we struggled to work appliances as we didn't find any instructions for these, then after a couple of days found the oven instructions actually on the glass inside the oven door. Similarly there were 2 coffee machines & no instructions so we googled these as neither were working fully. We messaged the owner & a replacement part was ordered promptly for the milk wand. One of our party left a wallet in a bedside drawer with a considerable amount of cash in it. With great relief, his was returned immediately. I can't fault the service we received & the property really was first class.

  • "The property is stunning everything you need is there."

We had a fabulous time during our stay. Gorgeous welcome afternoon tea with little cakes awaited us which was such a lovely touch. The only points for the owner is to make is clear what to take as we took the advised bin bags, oven gloves, tea towels , detergents etc and it was already there. Also when you have only booked two nights the checking in at 4pm is incredibly late and uses a massive chunk of the afternoon, and then having to check out by 10am! We were all extremely disappointed with that again all the time used by these check in limitations. If you’re asking a big group to go by 10am striping beds taking rubbish to the bins is an extreme. We all loved the property but due to the restrictions in check in etc I think it out a lot of us off rebooking. Overall the house stunning.

Hi Amanda, thank you for your feedback! I will ask Sykes’ to update my property profile to say that we supply all of which you brought. We used to ask guests to strip the beds and empty bins but since the beginning of February (2023) we have not asked guests to do this and have removed the check out details in the house. So I’m not quite sure who told you that you had to do this. When we have a change over day cleaning the house is a big task and if we did a later check out or earlier check in, we feel it wouldn’t give us enough time to clean the house to the standard that we leave it. Thank you for your feedback and we will try and come up with ways to make the check in earlier and check out later. Many thanks Property Owner

The hot tub is also a great feature. The layout of the house is great and the furnishings were very comfortable. The robes were also a nice touch. There were 7 of us, and we all fit nicely and had a great time. A few points i would make that need improvements are that the hot water tap in the kitchen was very temperamental, and some of the house technology is just too much..a few to many spotlights too. The checkout is far too early when you have to empty all the bins, strip the beds, and leave the house clean and tidy. You pay a lot of money to stay here, so therefore, the checkout needs to be later to accommodate the owners' needs and so the guests do not have to get up at the crack of dawn.

On arrival; The check in was seamless, house was clean and well equipped for our holiday, the welcome tea and coffee was appreciated. Host; the host was easily accessible and responded swiftly to any queries. Value for money; for the price we paid (circa 1600) we were satisfied with our holiday, we went to book for 2022 and noticed the price has increased significantly. We held off booking. With this price increase there are a few things the host needs to Improve, there is a smell of sewers that appears in one of the bedrooms making it difficult to sleep there, this didn't impact us as we only needed 3 bedrooms however if the 4th bedroom was needed that would cause an issue for others. The zips on the cushions in the living room are broken. The dishwasher and tumble dryer should be checked before each new guest arrives, dishwasher had no salt and the tumble dryer water and lint collection were full to the brim. Finally the filters in the hot tub should be cleaned more thoroughly there was a lot of debri attached to the blue filter in the bottom of the hot tub. These items are not being raised as a complaint but as a recommendation based on the price increase. We had an amazing time at the roundhouse, the pictures do not do it justice.
