The property

The Manor House at Kenwick Lodge is a superb holiday let nestled on the outskirts of Ellesmere, in the quiet village of Cockshutt.

The unique aspect of this impressive house, is the large, enclosed garden, which wraps around the back of the property, and the wonderful views it offers across rolling farmland and South Shropshire.

It is a superb getaway, well-suited to large families and groups of friends looking to experience a different kind of holiday.

Tie the knot in the lounge or make use of the large gardens, under trees, or looking over a pond.You will have the use of this 6 bedroom house, with the possibility of the neighbouring house, to have all the guests stay the night if needed.We are ideally situated for an intimate small gathering of just an informal celebration.

The farmhouse kitchen boasts more of those lovely views over the fields, a fabulous range cooker for you to rustle up some delicious meals, and a large dining table to get the whole family around.

Once you have finished your evening meal and washed it down with a refreshing bottle of wine, move through to the sitting room for a game of snooker or a spot of relaxation on one of the sofas.

There is a second TV room for you to take yourself away from the group and enjoy some down time alone, or if the kids want to watch something different.

Upstairs are a series of bedrooms to accompany the ground-floor twin room, which also offers an en-suite wet room, ideal for those with limited mobility.

Catch your rest in one of five bedrooms on the first floor, there are two family rooms with a king-size double and single bed, each with their own en-suite.

With dual-aspect windows and fantastic views over open fields, the king-size double room is ideal for a couple, while the twin room is perfect for the kids to share.

Find yourselves enjoying an alfresco-style dinner in your own private garden, or stroll across the lawn to the man-made pond with the kids, to see the ducks swimming by.

This is a lovely spot for picnics and taking in the glorious scenery on a warm summer's day.

You are surrounded by beautiful, Shropshire countryside here in the village of Cockshutt, which boasts a friendly, local pub and a parish church.

The market town of Ellesmere is close by offering some lovely amenities as well as The Mere, where you can enjoy a gentle stroll through the woodland and look out for the many birds that flock to the lake.

Pay a visit to the interesting town of Shrewsbury, hosting a variety of shops and places to eat along with its historic castle, abbey and the Wildlife Trust.

Enjoy an array of walking and cycling country within the Shropshire Hills AONB, and return to this superb farmhouse in a picturesque setting.

COCKSHUTT

Ellesmere 5 miles; Shrewsbury 12.5 miles.

The small village of Cockshutt is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and has many of the features of a traditional village with a pub, village hall, primary school and a parish church. Just five miles away is the pretty market town of Ellesmere, which offers Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, a lovely church and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and is surrounded by its famous meres or lakes. Close by is the delightful Colemere Country Park, which when taking a scenic walk you will discover wonderful wildlife. Twelve miles south of Cockshutt is the county town of Shrewsbury, set within a giant loop of the River Severn. There’s something for everyone here with over 600 listed buildings, picturesque cobbled alleys and squares, a superb selection of independent and high street shops and plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs. With the National Trust owned Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City and Acton Scott working farm, along with a number of charming villages and towns in the area, makes Cockshutt a convenient base.
