Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped. Couldn’t be better.
-
"We spent a great week at Alders View Coach House and absolutely enjoyed our stay."
The property was spotless throughout with everything we needed. Plenty of hot water and a comfy bed. Tea and coffee were provided on arrival which is always a nice touch after a long journey. The area has lots to do with great pubs and provides a fabulous location to discover the outdoors and surrounding towns.
-
"We had a great stay at Alders View."
The well equipped open plan living area, spacious comfortable bedroom and shower room are perfect for a couple looking for a pleasant, relaxing, stay in a beautiful location with super views of the lovely surrounding towns and countryside. The owners Phil and Shirley could not have been more friendly and helpful and we would definitely look to book again when visiting the area.
-
"No welcome or sign of owners who live on site."
View from main glass doors and window was of blank wall, car repair garage, parked light commercial vehicles and trailers and wood yard. Not a working farm. Chairs were very deep, no back support, I am 6 foot and had to pile up cushions to use them. Great view from kitchen window though.
-
"Accommodation seemed rather tired , outside space drab a few pot plants would have improved its appearance and encouraged us to use it."
Poor access from road, good views from inside property.would describe it as basic rather than luxury.
-
"Outstanding"
-
"Wonderful place to stay with beautiful country views."
Very clean and very well equipped and yes we would return. The only surprise was that we never met the owners nor did we have any enquiry to check we were OK with everything. Never experienced that before.
-
"The perfect property for us, a real home from home."
Ideal location for touring the region, wonderful views and peace and quiet. We look forward to coming back.
-
"We had the best time!"
We loved being so close to the fields and sheep, and the views were just perfect. You little coach house is just right two and we found everything met our expectations and a little bit more. Thank you and we hope to visit again. Tony & Gill

"We really enjoyed our short stay."
Alders View Coach House is very clean and comfortable, the weather was good enough to sit out, and the owner was friendly and helpful, as were the information leaflets in the property. We’d certainly stay here again - it’s a great base for exploring the local sites and walking the beautiful countryside.
-
"We walked into a lovely warm clean and comfortable property."
Well equipped kitchen, good shower. Quiet with views across farmland. We really enjoyed our stay. Slept well and would stay again, Sue and Dave
-
"We had a brilliant few days at Alder View."
The property is well positioned for walking and cycling trips. It's set in beautiful scenery with a great view from the kitchen window. It's comfortable and tastefully decorated . A great place to relax in. It was so warm that we had to turn off the radiator in the bedroom. The owners had also decorated it for Christmas, which was a lovely touch. I would happily return.

"Our third visit: that says a lot about this cosy cottage in November."
Magnificent views from the kitchen window! Extremely likely to book again next year.
-
"The accomodation was lovely and very clean, the owners friendly and helpful."
Improvements? Somewhere to hang coats as you come in, and maybe a boot/shoe rack/tray to park shoes once changed to slippers
-
"2.6 miles out of craven arms is not on the edge."
Pub 2.1 miles away is closed and it is not a working farm but a lumber yard and garage.
-
"The property is in a good location and the quality and cleanliness of the property fully met our expectations."
-
"Absolutely beautiful truly home from home everything you could possibly need a big Thumbs up."

Lovely accommodation in a quiet rural spot, fantastic views, which grace us the opportunity to explore the lovely Shropshire countryside
-
"Very clean, immaculate presentation, all mod cons inc netflix, sometimes wifi would drop out that's only negative."
Craven Arms 5 mins drive, supermarket, petrol station etc very good. Enjoyed my stay, very comfy bed! Would stay there again in future.
-
"Lovely clean, modern apartment- plenty of space."
Comfortable bed and sofa. Good shower. Ideal base for visiting Shropshire. We walked up Long Mynd, climbed the spiral staircase in the church tower in Ludlow, visited Shrewsbury and Ironbridge, amongst other activities. Good supermarket in Craven Arms for supplies 3 miles away.
-
"Cottage was superb, it was spotlessly clean and had everything required with the added bonus of a stunning view."
-
"Lovely views, directions perfect, fans for the hot weather appreciated, parasols on picnic area and patio so appreciated."
The size and layout great for a couple wanting to get away for a period of time. We will certainly look to return.
-
"From walking through the door on arrival this property oozed cleanliness and comfort."
All the additional extras were a surprise and very much appreciated (far beyond previous holiday lets we've stayed in). Every little detail was provided. The decor very tasteful. An excellent property which we would definitely use again if staying in the area.
-
"A amazing stay."
The apartment is cosy, and a great escape for a few days. The views are amazing, had a great time. Thank you
-
"Great place nice and clean warm and comfy, Good views and well placed for walking etc."
Never saw the owners so nice and private, excellent stay.
-
"The apartment was beautifully presented and very comfortable."
The woodburner was a lovely feature. The views down to Ludlow were lovely. It was so peaceful there and two sheep would look through the fence every day. I also managed to see some snow for my birthday having been born during heavy lasting snowfall so that was a bonus. We’ve stayed in the Craven Arms area before at HPB Upper Norton and were glad to be able to return. Sadly we didn’t meet the owners to thank them for their great apartment.
-
"We loved the location."
Owners were friendly but not intrusive. We could relax and stay warm even though we seem to have chosen one of the coldest few days of the winter. Would have given top marks for comfort but as an older couple we found the sofa unit a little too low and unsupportive. However, this may not be a problem for many.
-
"Lovely return visit even though the weather was seasonal!"
We got out every day and didn’t get too wet and came back to a cosy cottage!
-
"Very clean and tidy."
Ideal for a couple. Nice large bedroom with a large comfy bed and plenty of storage space. The views from the lounge are some of the best. All to gether I'd mark it 10 out of 10. Well done to all for making our stay very enjoyable.
-
"Lovely stay at the Coach House."
Very peaceful with wonderful views. The property is very comfortable (especially the bed!), well equipped, and in a great location. The tumble dryer and freezer were a nice surprise as they're not in the listing! Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from it all.
-
"What a lovely place."
The view out of the kitchen window was amazing. Lovely and peaceful and the owners were so polite and cheerful it made our holiday. Really lovely place.
-
"The cottage had everything we could need for a comfortable, relaxing holiday, and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful area whether you want to walk in the hills or visit the many local attractions."
We would have loved to stay longer and are already looking forward to when we can come back!
-
"Delightful owners and property."
We were on our second visit so that speaks for itself.
-
"A lovely property with the most comfortable bed and the best shower we've had in any holiday cottage."
The views are fantastic and you can see Ludlow castle on a bright day. We found that the sofa was less comfortable than it looked but that's purely a personal preference as we're used to a higher and firmer seat. Would love to book again for another holiday. Owners were friendly when we saw them.
-
"Alders View Coach House is lovely I would highly recommend this cottage ."
Very quiet and relaxing. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped.Very friendly owners .
-
"Very good holiday accommodation - very clean and modern."
The kitchen units and bathroom especially good. A lot of care has gone into it.
-
"Before arrival I had been a little concerned about possible noise as I knew the property was on a working farm, but in fact it was extremely peaceful and quiet."
There is an amazing view from the main window across fields to distant hills. Comfortable bedroom with good storage. Powerful shower. Good wifi. The main room is open plan kitchen, dining, and sofa area with laminate flooring - practical but not specially cosy. Maybe a rug would help. No garden (there is a small patio) and you are asked not to go in to the yard at the rear (it is a working area), so you do need a car to get out and about. But its a good location, convenient for lots of things. Shropshire is lovely. Watch out for roadworks on the A49 - it was unexpectedly closed one night, in both directions, requiring an extremely long detour.
-
"We had an absolutely wonderful time at Alders View Coach House very peaceful and relaxing with stunning views we went to Ludlow which is approximately 5 miles away it’s a lovely little Market Town stalls selling fruit and Veg, cheese and lots of other things."
Shirley and Phill the owners are a lovely couple left us lots of useful information of places to visit as well as recommendations of pubs and restaurants near by. Would definitely recommend the Coach House and hope to visit again in the future.
-
"As previous owners and users of holiday cottage accommodation for many decades both in the UK and wider Europe we have much experience to draw on when visiting a new place."
We found the coach house to be well appointed and equipped, finished to a good standard in a great location. We would recommend it highly to other prospective guests.
-
"I lovely coach house, log burner fire made it all the more relaxing."
Nice and spacious. Enjoyable stay
-
"We had the best time for our weekend stay!"
It’s a beautiful cottage with a very modern interior (which we really liked!!) The view from the kitchen was beyond gorgeous, something we already miss waking up to! The sofa’s were so comfortable, the bed was comfortable, everything was so clean & there were nothing to fault. The bathroom is gorgeous, so much space & once again, very modern. Plenty of storage, plenty of cutlery, cleaning supplies… everything you could think of for your stay. We really enjoyed staying here & we will be booking this again without a doubt! Thank-you for having us, we really appreciate it!!
-
"Visited this place on numerous occasions."
Each time has been as amazing as the last. The property is extremely comfortable and caters to all needs. It has an extremely powerful shower and one of the most comfortable beds I have lay on. It offers a fully equipped kitchen with everything one may need for a getaway. I cannot fault this property in any way and look forward to a return here in the future. Thank you to the owners of this property for all the effort and personal touches you have done.
-
"Loved our stay."
Perfect for a couple. Good location for visiting local area.
-
"We had a lovely stay - bed very comfy and the view down to Ludlow was beautiful."
A drying rack for dishes would help given no dishwasher. We stayed in the middle of a mini heatwave and an air cooler in the bedroom would have helped sleep more comfortably.
-
"Brilliant staycation destination so close to so many National Trust destinations and English Heritage castles."
Beautiful facilities with everything needed for a weeks stay. Lovely sofa, bed and bathroom. Unfortunately not cold enough for log burner but can imagine on winter nights would be perfect.
-
"Lovely cottage with beautiful views from the window, well equipped with modern decor, smart TV came in handy to catch-up after a day out."
Would use again if in the area.
-
"A very well-equipped cottage - ideal for two - set in lovely countryside, with a grand view of the hills across the valley and with Ludlow Castle in the far distance."
The location is ideal for exploring Shropshire and we have already booked for a return visit.
-
"Lovely cottage with everything you could need and with an amazing view which we never tired of looking at."
Great location giving easy access to lots of wonderful places. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
-
"Lovely clean comfortable cottage."
Close to many places to eat out, pubs fish and chips , Chinese. Everything you would need in a holiday cottage.
-
"Location ideal for our planned holiday."
The accommodation was well thought out ,of high spec, spacious with plenty of storage..The views over towards Ludlow were spectacular and our hosts friendly and helpful.
-
"It is a great place to stay the views from the kitchen window are beautiful, the vista looks like an artists impression of a landscape."
Sadly the sofa is too deep for anyone under six feet tall to be comfortable and the bed is too soft. However they are both personal observations and it may be fine for the majority of people.
-
"The location is lovely and tranquil with stunning views."
-
"Just what we needed for a short break."
Everything in the coach house was very well presented. The couple who owned the place were very pleasant.
-
"Excellent place to stay, would reccomend."
A very nice warm cottage close to Ludlow, great views from the window. It was very clean, had wifi and a good shower. Lots of little touches that made it nice. Thank you very much.
-
"Lovely confortable cottage with great views of the Shropshire hills."
Very helpful owner. Very cosy even in November.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Superbly clean, modern and comfortable. Great location and views from the cottage. Friendly owners who we bumped into on the last day. We will definitely stay here again as it was everything we wanted.
-
"Really nice apartment, decorated to a very high standard."
Warm & comfortable and a good base to explore the Shropshire Hills.
-
"Quiet location Lovely and warm"
-
"It was a lovely cottage, however, the settee was not as comfortable as I would have liked and is a bit far from the television, but this was minor issue for us."
We were also a little disappointed that there was no public pathway from the cottage without walking on a very busy road which is not advisable. Again, not to take away from the lovely accommodation and we would definitely use it again
-
"A lovely, modern and clean apartment with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside."
It had everything we needed, was very peaceful and the village was only a short drive away. We would be happy to stay here again and will definitely use Sykes Cottages in the future.
-
"The accommodation was absolutely superb."
Facilities far better than I thought, everything that you would need was there. It was super clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was very good too, close enough to drive into Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Leominster and pop over to Wales. Craven Arms is lovely and one thing we did was visit The Land of Lost Content Museum, quirky but brilliant. All those memories came flooding back when we saw all the stuff we'd forgotten about from the 60's & 70's (there is a lot more too) which was 'our' era. Two hours 30 minutes just melted away. There is a supermarket and garden centre, pubs, restaurants and takeaways all really close by. Unfortunately we didn't manage to take in the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre but we will on out next visit. A thoroughly relaxing break.
-
"The cottage was wonderful, peaceful, modern, clean."
Amazing views, had a lovely week here thank you.
-
"The apartment was warm, clean and well-appointed."
It's easily the most comfortable self-catering flat we've stayed in. The view to the south was great and it was very quiet. Craven Arms was no more than ten minutes down the road and the local, independent supermarket (Tuffins) was vast and well-stocked. What's not to like?
