"Property was excellent and in an ideal location."
This was our second stay here and no complaints
-
"Perfect location near to the town and easy walking to bars, restaurants and dog walks with off road private car parking."
House was very well equipped with everything needed for a short/long break. Would recommend this property.
-
"Having had many delightful holidays in my home town of Shrewsbury, staying with my Labradoodle in Severn Way Cottage this trip was no exception."
The cottage is immaculately clean and comfortable. There are clear instructions regarding appliances, recycling etc. The friendly, considerate owners respond quickly and efficiently to any issues. The setting of the cottage, a few minutes away from the Quarry Park, alongside the River Severn is just perfect. You can walk into Shrewsbury town centre and explore beautiful historic buildings, independent shops and an abundance of cafes/restaurants in ten minutes. Ludlow and Church Stretton should also be on the excursion list.
-
"Lovely house, well equiped."
Everything one would need.
-
"Good position in walking distance to many restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops."
Lots of clothes shops of well known names just like the days of old. Enjoyable stay with great weather.
-
"A fabulous cottage situated close to all Shrewsbury has to offer."
The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with absolutely everything on hand. We were very relaxed and comfortable here. I would have loved to have had a small sofa in the front room because it’s such a light and sunny space but that’s not a complaint. A very happy stay and we would happily return.
-
"Great cottage, very clean and comfortable and a great location."
-
"This was our second stay at Severn Way Cottage and once again it did not disappoint."
The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. It is spotlessly clean and provides a brilliant base to explore Shrewsbury. It is in a fabulous location being so close to the River Severn, The Quarry Park and the town centre. You are spoilt for choice for excellent places to eat (dog friendly), all within 5 mins walking distance. If you have a dog, the garden is very secure and the Quarry Park is a lovely wide open space just minutes away from the cottage. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
-
"Thank you so much for a brilliant week at Severn Way Cottage - Martin and Jill."
When I arrived, I moaned about the tight parking space. As it happens, we were so comfortable and happy wandering around Shrewsbury for an entire week, that we only moved the car when we very reluctantly left. Great cottage. Everything you need within easy walking distance.
-
"This is a lovely cottage in an ideal location."
Standards of cleanliness are very high and it is very well equipped with all necessary items. The beds are comfortable with good quality linen; sofas etc comfortable too. It was easy to walk into town and enjoy the Quarry. Stairs are quite steep. Parking is fine although perhaps more suited to a smaller car. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay.
-
"Lovely 2 bedroom cottage in a great location right in the heart of Shrewsbury."
Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated with everything you need here. Large well fitted kitchen and comfy bedrooms and lounge. 2 mins walk to the river and 5-10 minutes into town. Swimming pool and park just across the foot bridge with various pubs and restaurants a short walk away. Parking space is a bonus although maybe a little tight for larger cars but very handy. Some building work going on next door but didn’t cause us any inconvenience. Happy to recommend and would definitely like to go back. Thank you for lovely stay.
-
"We had a fantastic stay at Severn Way Cottage."
This is a lovely, comfortable and very well equipped cottage in a great location - easy walk into the town through the park or along the river. Very friendly and helpful owners. We loved our stay at Severn Way while seeing relatives and will definitely be back. Many thanks.
-
"I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the Severn Way Cottage in Shrewsbury and, to date, is the best accommodation I've booked with Sykes."
I look forward to staying here again.
-
"Lovely house, great location."
The building work next door didn't affect our stay as they were only there a couple of days and we were out most days. Jill and Martin have got a fab place there. I would recommend a stay there to anyone.
-
"Fabulous property."
2nd stay and not disappointed.
-
"Most comfortable stay; spotlessly clean."
Very convenient for town centre. Would certainly re-book. Thank you

"I had a wonderful holiday in Shrewsbury staying at Severn Way cottage."
It is one of many visits to Severn Way cottage and I never fail to be impressed with its immaculate interior. Cleanliness is second to none, the kitchen well equipped and the bed extremely comfortable. It is also bonus to have two bathrooms. Beautifully situated for strolls in the stunning Quarry Park and close to many attractive amenities in Shrewsbury.
-
"Enjoyed our time in Shrewsbury and the cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable ..."
Enjoyed our time in Shrewsbury and the cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable in a great location and would highly recommend
-
"We had a lovely stay and were sad to leave."
The property was comfort and had everything we needed. We loved the location and being so close to the town centre and beautiful walks. The interior was tastefully decorated and had plenty of seating. It was nice being spread over three floors and a bonus to have 2 bathrooms. The only issue was parking at the back was a little tight, but with so much to do in town we barely used the car. Highly recommend the town and this property.
-
"Our second visit & equally as enjoyable."
Lovely accessible cottage & Shrewsbury is a great place for a holiday!
-
"The house has been beautifully renovated and is stylishly presented."
There are all the facilities you need, and much more besides. The house is less than a minute's walk from the banks of the Severn, with a picturesque walk alongside it into the centre of town.
-
"OMG. What a lovely place."
Very clean, very central and very helpful. Already booked to go again.
-
"Perfect cottage and perfect location."
-
"Wonderful, comfortable place to stay for four adults."
Excellently equipped. If we had to find a flaw -- and this is a sign of how good everything else was -- it's that the ceiling light fixture in the lounge was a bit low for our two 6-footers, and we each banged our heads a few times. Great location as well in Frankwell -- a short stroll over the Severn into the heart of Shrewsbury. Would definitely stay again.
-
"Brilliant stay at Severn Cottage."
Couldn’t fault anything. Really comfortable stay and spotlessly clean. Ideal location if you have a dog, as the garden is secure and you are minutes walk away from a huge open spaced park. One of the best cottages we have stayed in.
-
"Seven Way Cottage is in an ideal location for a visitor to Shrewsbury."
The house is very comfortable and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is well equipped and was spotlessly clean on our arrival. Communication with the owners was easy and they quickly resolved a minor issue with some kitchen utensils. We would highly recommend the property to others.
-
"Very well appointed 3 storey cottage in a great spot in Shrewsbury - very clean, comfortable and well maintained."
The Severn Way footpath is literally on the doorstep and it's just a short stroll across a nearby footbridge into the town, via a lovely green space. There are plenty of attractions within Shrewsbury itself and many more within easy striking distance of the town.
-
"We have just spent a very pleasant weekend with family celebrating my 60 th Birthday."
The cottage and amenities were perfect and very comfortable.. Weather was beautiful on Saturday and we thoroughly enjoyed strolls along the river. Will definitely be back.
-
"Our second visit to this gem of a cottage so close to the centre of Shrewsbury."
We will be returning again. Thank you Jill
-
"The house was beautiful and facilitated a great holiday for my wife, little boy and I."
The house was amazingly equipped, clean and extremely comfortable throughout. Its location meant access to many things, either by foot or a short drive away. Our visits included a National Trust Property in Staffordshire. The RAF Museum at Cosford. Iron Bridge and the Victorian Centre. We also enjoyed many a walk around Shrewsbury including the parks and river. We found so many things to do in Shrewsbury and the local area we would like to come back to do more in the future and would definitely use this property as a base.
-
"Situated in a great location, within easy walking distance of the town centre."
Attractively decorated and very well equipped. Very comfortable, including mattresses, sofas etc. All appliances worked perfectly. Extremely clean and well maintained. Warm and cosy. Very clear instructions / information booklet provided for guests. We would highly recommend staying here. (Probably not suitable for guests with accessibility issues as the staircases are a little steep and the property is on three floors. This was not an issue for us though and is just an observation which we hope might be helpful to potential guests).
-
"This is out second stay and we weren't disappointed, house is lovely and clean and well maintained."
Lovely little touches like handsoap in both bathrooms, washing liquid, washing tabs and cleaning products, this makes all the difference. Lovely welcome tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and crisps. House is Perfectly situated for town, only a short walk away. Will definitely return again. Thank you Martin and Jill.
-
"Love Severn cottage Shrewsbury."
It is ideal for the beautiful park and town. SevernTheatre is near by and worth a visit . Lovely river walks on the Severn way and just down the road from cottage. This is an ideal accommodation for couples or those with older children but definitely not for toddlers or semi disabled as two flights of stairs. One from kitchen and bathroom up to dining room and sitting room. The other up to 2 bedrooms and shower room /toilet.A small garden with outdoor furniture. Keypad locked gate to garden so very private. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Been twice and will be back.
-
"The property was pristine, warm and welcoming."
The cottage was well equipped with everything that we needed. The location was ideal with easy access into the town. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
-
"Faultless, spotlessly clean, everything perfect."
The owners have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you!
-
"One of the very best Sykes Cottages we have enjoyed, and we have visited a considerable number!"
Perfectly located for access into the town. Idyllically peaceful beside the river and with lots of wonderful walks. Jill and Martin have gone to great lengths with empathetic care and attention to detail to make this warm little gem the perfect launch pad for exploring the environs of Shrewsbury. Thank you so much - we have booked another visit straight away.
-
"We had a lovely stay."
The house is very comfy and the location is great. Lots of thoughtful touches. We will definitely be back!
-
"We throughly enjoyed our stay at Severn cottage."
It was home from home and very well equipped. So convenient for a lovely stroll along the river and into the beautiful park and Quarry garden The Dingle. Also close to the Theater. Although we didn’t go into the main shopping area there are a variety of good shops. We loved it so much we have booked for New year.
-
"My second visit to Severn Way Cottage was as memorable and happy as the first."
The location of the cottage is perfect for riverside walks and strolls in Shrewsbury's scenic park, The Quarry; both just a few minutes away. The property is clean, well equipped and comfortable, while the enclosed garden creates a safe space for doggie guests. I love the historic town with its independent shops, cafes, restaurants, independent cinema and theatre. Ludlow, with its artisan market, castle and historic centre is a must. Haughmond Hill, Attingham Park, Church Stretton, Mich Wenlock and Ellesmere Lake offer both beautiful walks and delightful cafes. Further afield Chester with its original rows provides a stunning day out. I am already planning my next visit to Severn Way Cottage.
-
"A lovely holiday home."
We had all we needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location was great and so easy to get to the river and town.
-
"Exactly as advertised & ideal for our needs."
Thank you.
-
"Lovely well positioned cottage with riverside walk in to town."
Exceptionally clean,well equipped and maintained.
-
"Very good location both for walking access to the town and trips out."
House was lovely and extremely well equipped with lots of little extras that make such a difference.
-
"Very well equipped and plenty of information about equipment."
Had a problem with the cooker, but may have been user error? instructions were too complicated. Position of the cottage was perfect, and directions good, parking easy etc the additional information about dog walking was especially helpful.
Thanks for your lovely and constructive feedback. We have added some notes to the oven manufacturer’s instructions which hopefully make them clearer. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage."
Clean, spacious & well situated for all facilities. Great for being close to the river. Highly recommended.
-
"We had a lovely stay at Severn Way Cottage."
Everything we needed was supplied and the cottage was extremely clean so thank you for that! The cottage is ideally situated for a quick walk into Shrewsbury through the park which is directly behind. For a convenient evening meal or drink we would recommend The Armoury. The staff are all very welcoming and efficient. Places we visited and would recommend are Attingham Park, Dudmaston Hall (if possible do the art tour it is so interesting especially the Spanish section), Chirk Castle and Chirk aqueduct, of course Ironbridge and museums. If you like walking then you have to do Carding Mill Valley and Long Mynd. We were so lucky with the weather. Absolutely beautiful panoramic views. Once again thank you for a wonderful week!
-
"This is a fantastic cottage, very comfortable and clean."
The decor is fresh and uncluttered but retaining features appropriate to the age of the property. Beautiful fireplaces in the bedrooms. The kitchen has appliances which are straightforward to use and the large fridge freezer is very useful. Very comfortable beds and lovely fresh linen. Having two bathrooms is a bonus. Super location with a short walk across the suspension bridge and into the town through the park. Shrewsbury is a fascinating town which is easily explored on foot. Excellent food market and an artisan bakers opposite the railway station. We had a great time and will definitely return to this cottage.
-
"The house was super clean and very central."
Highly recommended
-
"Lovely cottage, cosy, clean and well maintained and well equipped."
The location was excellent, beautiful walks by the river and not too far to walk in to town.
-
"The proximity of the cottage to the river Severn and the Quarry, the beautiful park in Shrewsbury, is such an attractive attribute to the property."
The Quarry is bustling with activity; with two boathouses competitive rowing or training on the river is a daily occurrence. There are also other water sports on offer. The cottage is extremely close to the Theatre Severn and the historic town centre, with its wealth of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Severn Way cottage was immaculately clean-its pristine condition is instantly apparent. It is comfortable and has everything you could require. A sympathetic renovation has been carried out and I loved staying there. Instructions for appliances and the location of the cottage are clear. The fact that there is a secure garden is a bonus when you are staying with a dog. My labradoodle quickly learnt that the idyllic river walk was just down the lane! I wholeheartedly recommend Severn Way Cottage.
-
"I would like to thank the owners for presenting a spotless home which was well supplied with good quality fittings and kitchen ware ,everything you would need for a family holiday."
The description did not do justice to the size and position of the property which suited us all well. The proximity to the park, open spaces and riverside walks were wonderful despite the weather and threatening floods .
-
"Lovely house, very clean and well equipped."
The shower was lovely and the bed very comfy. Really good location for town a short river side walk. We didn't want to leave.
-
"What a fabulous cottage!"
We had a lovely week. The cottage was tasteful and had everything you needed. Really near to the river so lots of beautiful walks. Near to the centre so lots of shopping opportunities. The beds were comfortable. Everywhere was clean and bright with lovely furnishings. We will certainly go back. We recommend it highly. Thank you to the owners for being so friendly on the phone and we have come home feeling refreshed. Fabulous break.
-
"This is a lovely cottage ,well situated for all amenities."
I would have liked a cd player and dvd player but it seems to a growing trend for these items to be omitted in a lot of holiday properties. Also , a minor thing was missing for someone who likes cooking whilst on holiday,ie serving tongs and a carving fork.Otherwise, well supplied with utensils etc.
Thank you for your positive and constructive feedback. We have put a DVD and CD player in the cottage and also added a carving fork and serving tongs to the kitchen utensil drawer. If you decide to come again please do contact us if there is anything you need as we can usually accommodate. Property Owner

Excellent location for sampling the delights of Shrewsbury, only 5 mins walk to get over the river into town and alternative routes for the river walks. House was immaculate and very well equipped. Will definitely try to rebook for next stay in Shrewsbury.
-
"A beautiful , tastefully decorated cottage steps away from the river and town."
All the facilities in the cottage were excellent . Well equipped and very clean . Shrewsbury is beautiful, lots of lovely walks full of history. Would stay again.
-
"The house is beautifully decorated throughout."
The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever seen. The beds are so comfortable, it was very hard getting up! There was a good range of local information leaflets, all in date. There is a well used lane at the side, but not noisy. Access to a local pub is very easy. Not far away (4 mins walk) there is a butchers, local grocery and a tapas bar. Every thing you need in one area. The owners were very helpful and we wish them luck.
-
"Thank you for a wonderful first visit to Shrewsbury,a very cultural, attractive town."
The house is extremely clean, well equipped, and comfortable, loved the little touches, eco loo rolls and cleaning products! Excellent location, a short walk to town with plenty of restaurants to choose from, also longer routes for dog walking. We highly recommend Shrewsbury as a town to visit and the house to stay in.

"The cottage is lovely , very clean and had everything we needed."
The town was a 10 minute stroll through the lovely park. Lots of fishing right on the doorstep which was a big plus lots of lovely places to eat a favourite being the Hickory Smoke House just across the river or the Boathouse just down the road . Lots to do in the area . Our pooch was safe in the lovely enclosed sun trapped garden and made friends with the neighbouring Cockerell and hens.
-

The owners also dropped off a fan during the heatwave. Thank you.

"A thoroughly lovely experience."
The property is well-decorated, comfortable, with plenty of space, and all mod cons at hand. It is the the perfect place to relax and ideal if you have a dog. The garden is fully enclosed so very convenient. The house is perfectly located near the banks of the Severn and on the Severn Way long-distance footpath, and provides easy access of the sights of Shrewsbury including the nearby river walk and Quarry Park, and places such as the National Trust property Attingham Park. Our thanks to the hosts Jill & Martin. We would fully recommend the property and will undoubtedly visit again.
