Ellesmere 5 miles; Shrewsbury 12.5 miles.

The small village of Cockshutt is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and has many of the features of a traditional village with a pub, village hall, primary school and a parish church. Just five miles away is the pretty market town of Ellesmere, which offers Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, a lovely church and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and is surrounded by its famous meres or lakes. Close by is the delightful Colemere Country Park, which when taking a scenic walk you will discover wonderful wildlife. Twelve miles south of Cockshutt is the county town of Shrewsbury, set within a giant loop of the River Severn. There’s something for everyone here with over 600 listed buildings, picturesque cobbled alleys and squares, a superb selection of independent and high street shops and plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs.
