  • "The cottage was a good size and well equipped in a lovely country location."

However, we felt that it lacked that cosy cottage feel, particularly as the bedroom floors were not carpeted and we didn't have any control over the heating, had to call the owners to get it turned on, which they did willingly. Maybe an over-ride facility for an hour at a time would solve any issues of guests going out and leaving the heating on all day. However, once heated the cottage stayed warm with plenty of hot water. The cottage is in a farm yard down a very steep hill across a fairly bumpy cattle grid, so not suitable access for low slung sports cars. Very friendly (and damp!) farm dogs roam freely around the yard. A bit of information about the farm itself, walks, accessible areas, etc would have been useful.

  • "Fantastic, wecome gift was great as was the whole stay , would definitely go again, , Internet was intermittent and the cattle grid needs lifting for most vehicles, other wize a working farm is nice to see and the big upside the DOGS best welcome you could wish for."

  • "Twyford Cottage, Pete and Sue, both lovely helpful people."

Enjoyed chatting, meeting the dogs who are gorgeous and loved the bonio treats. The Cottage, is AMAZING, more than we, my husband, and I expected. Cosy comfortable and Clean. Everything we needed and more. So pretty the gardens, enjoyed our walkabout, plus seeing the rabbits early morning from back landing window. Beautiful hills around the farmyard, seeing the cows and sheep and Pete dashing on his quad bike and using his tractors. We loved the area very very much. So peaceful. Tiverton itself is great, we particularly loved the Saturday market and the coffee in the lovely cafe. Busking and lots of lovely people selling all sorts of bits. Lovely local produce too. The town is also very interesting and worth a look round. On the outskirts is Tesco and the other end Morrisons. Avoid the cafe in Morrisons very dirty everywhere. Bickleigh Mill and shops etc interesting and worth visiting. Mike and I will most definitely return again to Twyford Farm Cottage. Missing our interesting chats with Pete.!

  • "This is the second visit to Twyford cottage and we love it."

First things first. It’s a working farm. Expect the smells, noises and general ambiance of this. If you do this it is truly special. Cows, sheep and 4 perfect farm dogs. Great for kids who can’t have their own dogs! My daughter has begged to go back and ran herself to exhaustion playing with them. The cottage has everything you need. Plenty of space and very clean. We will be going back because it’s reassuringly simple and not fussy. The location is great for a walk up the hill to the nearby pub and Tiverton a 10 minute drive down the road. A break from the rat race this is a family favourite we are already working out the next time we can visit.
