  • "A lovely house, ideally situated with all the mod cons you need."

It was very clean, tidy and well presented. The only minor point being the bed was a little soft for me, but that's just personal preference. Other than that everything else was great! Thanks for having us!

  • "Beautiful house perfect location but as soon as you walk in the smell hits you."

Went out and bought an air freshener and it didn't cover it. No welcome pack or instructions telling you how to operate things. No leaflets to say what's around.cooker needs a good clean as do some of the items. No hair dryer. No black bin bags. No kitchen tongs no wooden spoons. Lots of oil burners but no candles those that were there had all burnt out. DvD player didn't work. Shame really as I would have loved to watch some of those dvds. No bleach in bathrooms. 2 cotton tea towels are a no no they don't dry up. Only 1 jay cloth and no scourer.. 85p for cheap washing up liquid..spend another 15,p got fairy where you get actual soap suds and it cleans.lovely garden but could do with an outside light. New mattress needed upstairs as you could feel the springs..we paid a fair bit to stay here so it's quite disappointing to have to go out and buy items to get through the week. Please don't take this as a negative this is to guide the owner in what is needed to make a perfect stay

Thank you for your honest feedback. We’ve spoken with our cleaner and asked him not to be so heavy-handed with cleaning chemicals going forward. He has now used a neutraliser to remove any lingering odours completely, so the property will smell fresh and welcoming for future guests. All oil burners and candles have been restocked and are ready for use plenty of spares are now in place too. I’m also checking the DVD player personally and will replace it if needed so everything works properly. We really appreciate you bringing these things to our attention it helps us improve for everyone. Thank you again and best wishes. Property Owner

Off road parking a bonus and large garden for dog or just taking in the sun. Would come again and happily recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. I look forward to welcome you back into this holiday home soon Nigel Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately, the accommodation was not as described in the listing."

The living room contained an old and lumpy suite rather than the leather suite shown in the photographs. The kitchen/diner was only really suitable for four people, with only four dining chairs provided and a table that we found too small. Some items of equipment were still in their boxes, and it was unclear whether they were intended for guest use. The third bedroom was not suitable for two adults. The pull-out bed significantly reduced the available space and made access to the wardrobe difficult. There were also a number of personal belongings remaining in the property, which made it feel less like a dedicated holiday let. There was no information folder, so details regarding recycling, local services and other useful property information were not available. I have used Sykes on numerous occasions and have always been happy with my accommodation. However, on this occasion, I felt the property was not fully represented by the listing.

We’re sorry your stay didn’t go as smoothly as we would have hoped. The leather suite was showing its age and needed replacing — this has now been updated with a brand new one. All boxes have been removed, and every item in the property is there for guests to use freely. Regarding the items you mentioned: we’ve placed a few things around simply to give the space a homely feel, just touches to make the property feel welcoming. The information folder will also be put in place as soon as I return from my vacation. We appreciate your feedback and have taken everything on board. We hope to welcome you back sometime soon so you can see the improvements for yourself. Best wishes. Property Owner
