  • "Our stay for a big family holiday at Greenlawns was fantastic and we are hoping to make this an annual trip for us all."

The house and garden is absolutely beautiful and there was plenty of space for us all to feel that we weren’t on top of each other. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could need and the house itself is finished to a very high standard, well maintained and very clean. There are a few points that we would like to feedback to you that we feel would make staying at Greenlawns even more comfortable. Bathmats being provided in the bathrooms would be extremely helpful as we all had to use one of our towels for stepping out of the baths and showers which isn’t ideal. We feel that some of the bedrooms would benefit from a slightly larger bed, the bed in the downstairs room is especially small and the couple that were in there, unfortunately didn’t sleep too well. We think it would also be hugely helpful if bedding was provided for when the sofa beds are in use, we had to go out and buy bedding for the children who were using the sofa bed in the annex which was obviously not budgeted for. The only other details we would like to feedback is maybe giving notice on when the gardener and window cleaner will arrive, we had to clear the lawn and couldn’t be outside when the gardener turned up unexpectedly to mow the lawn ( he didn’t seem at all pleased that there were guests in the house and he hadn’t been informed of this ) The window cleaner also arrived unexpectedly and gave my sister- in- law quite a fright as she was sleeping at the time. Overall our holiday was extremely enjoyable but we do feel these points need addressing if possible.

Hello Kate, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Greenlawns and are pleased that you would like to make this an annual trip. In reply to your comments, we normally supply extra hand towels to be used a bath mats. However, we will try and get our laundry company to supply different design of towel for this purpose. Most of the rooms do have king-sized beds, but the ground floor room does have a standard double bed. This is because the room is slightly smaller, but we will consider changing it if we are able to accommodate a larger bed in the room. We supply bedding and towels for the 8 beds in the property, and as per Sykes instructions we are not able to supply additional linen for guests over this amount of beds. We do not list sofa beds with Sykes and can only supply linen for the fixed beds. I am sorry about the gardeners; they do normally attend on a Friday but this weather dependant. They should know to only mow the front lawns if people are using the rear garden when they arrive. This information has now been added to the welcome pack. I will speak to them about this. The window cleaner comes once per month and again often with little warning due to changing weather. I will make sure they arrive later in the day. I am glad overall you had an enjoyable holiday, and we could assist you with the check in/out times. We look forward to seeing you all again in the future. Kind Regards James and Anna Brown. • "A lovely property, particularly the kitchen and dining area which is light and spacious and very well supplied and equipped, including not just all the usual things but also useful extras such as a heated airer for drying washing indoors."

Very nice outdoor space too, with a lovely table and sun loungers (although we didn't have the weather to use them!). The hot tub is clean and well maintained with someone coming to check it every morning. The owners were very responsive to any queries we had. Only some minor points for feedback/improvement - there are venetian blinds in all the rooms (rather than curtains); these don't completely keep out the light and there were some grumbles about it being hard to sleep once it started to get light outside. Secondly, the listing on the website doesn't make it clear that the annexe is over two floors and not single storey (could be an issue if you have a couple of people with reduced mobility). Last very small point - it would be helpful if the front and back door keys were on separate keyrings!!

Hello Paula I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Greenlawns. We are always happy to look at feedback and make improvements where we can. I contacted Sykes to make sure the website listing was adjusted on 20th August to state that the annexe is over two floors, so hopefully this will clarify the layout for future guests. We also always send a property layout plan to customers when they book. We will also taken your advice and put the front door and utility key on separate fobs. Regarding the blinds, we have not had any comments about this before but have now fitted curtains as well as the blinds in the majority of the bedrooms. We hope to see you all again in the future. Very well equipped and lots of space ! Very close to the beach for the children and the dog and a very well secured garden for both ! Lots of lovely surrounding places to visit! I would recommend this property for a large family holiday! My only comments are that it should be made clear that the annexe bedroom and bathroom are up stairs as I interpreted as all being on one floor from the advert as we needed two downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms for the two older and limited mobility members of the family so my mother had to sleep on the bed settee downstairs in the annexe and had to use the one downstairs bathroom by entering the main property. Possibly instal a stair lift ? We managed but it may not be possible for other families. And also grab rails need to be installed in the downstairs shower as that was a struggle too for the other family member who has MS and finds it difficult to stand for too long. But overall a beautiful property on a stunning road and the owners were lovely people and very helpful !

Hello Julie Thank you for your comments and we are glad you had a good stay. We have contacted Sykes who have now amended the listing to show that the annexe room is upstairs. We have also taken your recommendation and fitted a grab rail in the downstairs shower. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

Hello Amita I am glad you all thought the house was fabulous. I am sorry you found some of the beds uncomfortable. It is difficult to have beds that suit everyone as some people prefer hard beds and others prefer soft ones. We do have other new mattresses available in case people need a different one. We also have oven gloves and am sorry if they were missing for some reason. If guests let us know we can change things quickly as we only live a few minutes away. A pool table is a good suggestion, but unfortunately we do not have a suitable place for a one at the moment. We hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes James and Anna Brown Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful week at Greenlawns to celebrate my father's 80th birthday."

. There was plenty of room in this large house. As always with holiday homes small things went wrong, for example the dryer would not work, but the owners where so quick to fix any issues we had. The description states enclosed garden but there are gaps each side of the house. The owner has addressed this by putting green wired fencing that can be moved across the gaps as required. This gave great peace of mind as we had two dogs and a toddler with us. However I do not think the fence would stop older children or larger breeds of dogs accessing the front of the house. The front garden is large with an in out drive way, plenty of room to park cars, we had four. The kitchen / dining room is wonderful and fully equipped.. My only niggle is that the kitchen bin is far too small for the size of house and number of people staying. The reception rooms are spacious and comfortable. The downstairs bedroom was not as big as we hoped and the bed although a double seemed small and only suitable for one person, also the ground floor shower room is a bit of a trek away along the hall want, so anyone who needs to use the toilet alot during the night may have difficulties. The upstairs bedrooms are lovely, with plenty of storage. and comfortable beds. The shower rooms and bath rooms are clean and well appointed. The travel cot provided is clean and perfectly usable but it is not a standard cot size. You may want to ask the owner for dimensions if you are thinking of using your mattress from home. The beach is a 10 minute walk away, but check the tides as when it is high tide the sea comes all the way in leaving no beach to walk on. The town centre is a good 20 minute walk, which the younger members of our family found easy as it is very flat. However my parents would, struggle so they drove into town. Lovely little town with plenty of shops and cafés.. We where very lucky with the weather, a mini October heat wave! However one of joys of such a large house is plenty of space to enjoy even if raining. We had a special and lovely holiday,. We would like to thank the owners for providing a wonderful home for our family to celebrate my Father's birthday..

The hot tub was a huge hit with the family & the grandchildren loved the huge garden although they lost a football and frisbee over the garden wall. We were well placed for visits to National Trust properties and the grandchildren loved their visits to Noah's Ark Zoo Farm and Puxton Park. Tesco is very near & a decent size plus there's a Morrison's petrol station nearby. The property was very clean on arrival and is well equipped for a large gathering. Only items we missed were hooks on the backs of the bathroom doors and the rubbish and recycling bins are not large enough for the size of the property (I had to leave our overflow recycling in the washing up bowl, sorry) but this may be out of the control of the owners.
