  • "It was clean ish and bed was comfortable."

The place itself left a lot to be desired. Bathroom smelly, think there’s a problem with the drains, not even a toilet roll provided so take your own. Carpets in lounge area could do with a clean. Extractor fan over hob dirty. Entrance smelly. Area within walking distance to Cardiff. Probably the worse holiday we’ve had with Sykes,

  • "On arrival we were very disturbed to find the ground floor apartment windows that had closed wooden shutters, absolutely covered in flies."

We were unsure of what we would find inside. On entering the property there was a fusty smell and the entrance dirty and full of mail. On entering our apartment the smell did not fade, and there were a number of flies in the apartment. We had to keep the windows open to get the flies and smell out of the property. The kitchen is old and parts need replacing, the oven was filthy and no way would I wish to use it, and the sink smelt and made a popping noise when water was draining away. The bathroom was dreadful. The toilet stained and wouldn't flush properly. Tiles on the floor were cracked and some missing grout. There was no bath/ shower mat to avoid slips/ falls. The water would not drain away. The bath would half fill whilst just taking a shower. The whole place requires a good clean, lots of maintenance and decoration. In fact, it's very much like a student flat that has been hired out, and at a rate that is very much overpriced for what you get. Location however was good. 15 mins walk in to the centre of Cardiff, bus & train station. We won't be returning to Madame Butterfly's Apartment.
