"Beautiful accommodation in a tranquil, remote area, no traffic noise or light pollution, so peaceful."
Lovely and clean, well maintained, we had a lovely peaceful rest. Loved waking up to see the horses and cows. Thank you.
-
"All great we loved our stay and would love to come back if we are in the area again"
-
"Everything is great, the place is quiet, the house was great in every sense, the owners of the property are very cooperative, I would like to thank them and recommend this property, When I have a vacation with my family, I do not hesitate to book."
-
"Lovley annex in a remote location , everything we needed , lovley peaceful and comfy stay ."
Only thing was cleanliness . Although most of the place was clean the oven hadn't been cleaned as we had to clean dried greasy fat off the hobs from the last tennents , and the food / drink mats had dried food and split drinks on them , other than this rest was spotless
-
"Excellant property, owner and family were very welcoming."
The road infront of other properties on the route to the property had some very big potholes along it, which our car didn't like.
-
"We had a brilliant time."
It is in an ideal location to visit anywhere in South Wales we managed a day trip to Pembrokeshire. The annex is clean and well presented, with a grass area which is secure.
-
"On arrival to our holiday property we were greeted by the owner Michael who was very pleasant he showed us to our accommodation which was attached to his property."
It was lovely just what we needed a small but lovely home from home cottage for my hubby and I and of course our cavapoo Murray. There was some milk, tea, sugar and a loaf of bread which was nice as we were ready for a cuppa after a very long journey. The cottage was situated in a quite location but not to far away to visit Barry island and lots of other coastal areas. Thank you Michael for a great week away
-
"Perhaps some more bowls in kitchen."
A little information on the area/history, walks, etc. would be good.
-
"Very comfy cottage in a stunning location, maybe add scissors to the utensil drawer."
No visitor book to refer to,would have been helpful. We loved the view down the Rhonda valley, the garden was safe and enclosed for our pouch, the grass could have been cut shorter.
-
"Thankyou for a lovely stay."
The holiday home was so warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay it was beautifully laid out and very good quality. We found it to be very clean and the beds were so comfy. The outside seating area was lovely. The listing was very good it covered everything including the very rough approach to the property, this was the only thing that was difficult to negotiate, there is a lot of pot holes. We had a lovely stay, thankyou.

"The property was lovely needs a few things such as scissors some new new ..."
The property was lovely needs a few things such as scissors some new new utensils and cooking trays also on other reviews that we looked at before goings the dirty mop is still there and they need to put in some guidelines on how to use the cooker and washing machine the road in is still very bad and be aware it is common land and the cow s and horses roam free also could do with a barbecue
-
"The best nights sleep i have ever had, clean , warm, quiet and very spacious."
Loved seeing the horses as im an avid rider myself. You have a wonderful private enclosed space whichbis perfect for any dog owners and young children. I also had a lovely warm welcome and was supplied with some fresh eggs, milk& bread. Im looking forward to going back! Thanks so much

"Loved our stay this year."
It has beautiful views. Also peaceful too It's also so warm and welcoming Thank you to Michael for a lovely homely stay.
-
"We loved our stay - the property is beautifully decorated and the location is stunning, such great views."
We felt we really got away from it all - while also being in easy reach of Cardiff. It felt very private too. Thank you.
-
"The property was absolutely superb very clean and tidy and perfect for a quiet get away, I know this has been said before but the road leading up to the property is very unmade so care needs to be taken when driving down it, it does not detract from the beautiful property and should not be a reason not to stay here."

"Fantastic host, after a long stressful journey, Michael patiently waited for us to arrive."
Not many hosts would wait till 1 am for guests to arrive.
-
"Wonderful location & superb facilities on premises Owner very helpful & on hand for any advice."
Enclosed area for your dogs. The one down side is the journey from main road to premises. The un made road is a cause of concern, you will be visiting a car wash on departure. Nevertheless I would love to return in the future
-
"The accommodation was pleasant and very quiet."
The bed was very comfortable. The appliances were old and the property would benefit from replacing them. The access road needs fixing regarding the pot holes. Anything other than an SUV would have trouble getting to the property
-
"Excellent, really great property and view's"
-
"Comfortable, clean and warm cottage."
Plenty of space to dry clothes on a wet day. The peaceful location has a trade off with a very bumpy drive. We loved our stay. Accessibility……. Easy access for the mobile but slightly trickier for wheelchair users. Plenty of space to move around in lounge, bathroom and bedrooms. There is a step in the bathroom to get to the shower and sink. We had to run a power cable to the veranda to charge my Powerchair. The patio door has a big lip to get over. This is not a criticism but just a useful piece of information for someone with accessibility needs.

"Accommodation is lovely, location remote which for us during winter months was a bit too isolating - I imagine it is glorious in the Spring/Summer."
Road to the accommodation is very bumpy as described by the owner - not much fun in the wet and dark. We had Christmas there and it would have been nice to have had some decorations up to make it feel more festive. Accommodation was clean and warm - I would have liked access to cooker manual and larger bath towels, plus some cleaning products - though I appreciate owner has said I am on holiday so shouldn't clean :) - but you want to be able to wipe surfaces down whilst you stay there. It is a super location if you want peace and quiet - I bet is is wonderful during the warmer months sitting on the patio taking in the superb views.

"The location is absolutely stunning, set rurally down a very bumpy track with stunning views."
This holiday home has the potential to be outstanding, but unfortunately we did not feel the level of comfort that we had expected. The kitchen isn’t well equipped, not even a wooden spoon available or baking sheets. No scales either despite biscuit cutters being provided - you definitely couldn’t have made any! The cleanliness also was disappointing, with someone else’s dog hair found all over the property, and cobwebs dangling from the walls and ceilings over our heads as we sleep. The mop used to clean the place is left in the cupboard and really could have done with washing or changing for new, it was filthy and bits of string had come off and been left about the place. With the exceptionally cold weather we had we were very cold each morning as the heating wasn’t on some mornings until gone 9am, so we would wake in the night freezing and unable to do much about it. The owner did have it on in the evenings which was much appreciated, and some mornings it did come on earlier. The windows are so draughty that no amount of heating will really help during the cold weather we’ve had, of course it would be a big expense to replace them but they really need to be given the breeze that comes through the frame and the mould that is on the walls around them. The blanket provided in the main bedroom was also dirty, with dog hair all over it and other stains - it definitely hasn’t been washed between guests, but we had to use it to keep warm. I also think providing some hand soap and even just some antibacterial spray should be the very least you can expect. However, the availability of a washing machine and tumble drier was very useful and not something you often get so for that we are grateful. Also the provision of some milk, bread and biscuits was very welcoming, thank you. If the general cleanliness was improved and the kitchen better equipped I honestly think that this would be a highly rated holiday home and would be great for summer months.
Thank you for your feedback????. We will take your comments on board. Mike. Property Owner

"I have recommended this place to our friends already."
Its comfortable, modern and peaceful. It has beautiful views of the country side from the property. Home owner and is dog Rocky are very friendly. We would definitely visit there again. Thank you Michael and Rocky the dog
-
"It was just little things like no instructions for any of the appliances ie cooker etc , no large cooking bowls ."
Also lack of cleaning items ,sprays etc .saying that we loved staying there owners friendly Rocky the dog

"Fantastic Holiday cottage."
Very clean and excellent facilities. Initially quite hard to find but soon got our bearings and would totally return in the future. Dont miss this Gem

"We had a very relaxing week, and much needed rest."
The property was comfortable, functional and was a real home from home. We arrived quite late, but there was milk, bread, eggs etc waiting for us, which was really thoughtful and very much appreciated. The facilities were well thought out, including washer, dryer and dishwasher and even a hairdryer. We would definitely book here again without hesitation, thank you so much for a fabulous holiday.

"We had lovely time everything was very good will be going back."

"Lovely place to stay."
Beautiful views and everything you need. Very convenient for local attractions and easy to travel into Cardiff. Very helpful owner.
-
"Beautiful week stay at this lovely place, very modern interior with everything you need for a holiday stay here, so quiet and peaceful with beautiful views all around, though you are out of the way in the middle of this glorious part of Wales two local chippies and shops within 6 mins away and a very large shopping complex just 10 mins , Mike and partner were really lovely people it was a sure pleasure to stay there, Rocky is Mikes 10 year old rottweiler was just the biggest softest dog you will ever meet, fully closed in large garden just ideal for our two gsd's, we all had a brilliant time, just very sad to leave, thank you to all of you in Wales you are a lovely Nation of people."
Thanks Mike!
-
"We had a fantastic time at the cottage."
Michael the host was lovely and we were greeted every day by Rocky the rotti who was the biggest softie. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful and facilities were all close by so the cottage was perfectly placed to explore the South of Wales. We had fresh eggs and tea, coffee and bread and milk on arrival provided which was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated after a long drive.

"Cwm Gran Meadows is a lovely property, clean, well equipped and nicely laid out."
The owner is nice, lives on site so is available but not intrusive. The road up to the property is more of a track than a road and does have a lot of potholes that need to be negotiated, however the property is close to family for us so we will stay again
-
"Beautiful location and a lovely clean and well equipped property."
There were the most fantastic views and a great location for exploring the area. It had a fab enclosed garden for our dog to run about in plus all possible mod cons you could ask. Our hosts were very kind and left a welcome pack of milk, bread, biscuits and eggs. The only things I’d say in the negative was the comfort of the double bed - it was rather hard - but that was a small issue. The property was also a little hard to find but we got further instruction from our kind host who guided us to the front door virtually. There is a long unmade road leading up to the property and I would suggest also maybe using the What Three Words location for the entrance to the unmade road which is bidder-moves-skylights
-
"Good enclosed garden for the dog."
Had everything we needed. The only thing that let it down were the two single beds. These just need to be replaced with new mattresses.
-
"Had an amazing stay, beautiful countryside and lovely host."
Will definitely be back.
-
"Fantastic place to stay with the kids and one dog."
All the amenities you need for a great base to explore Wales. We will be returning!
-
"Well appointed and comfortable ground floor apartment with a friendly owner, we only saw at the beginning and end of our stay."
Appreciated the farm eggs and welcome provisions on arrival, the eggs had the yellowish yolks ever! Great facilities, fabulous shower and fantastic rural views. Yes the road to the property could be a challenge for some low slung vehicles, but that's what made it more appealing to my husband. Take it slow and enjoy the experience! Would definitely stay again.
-
"All was fine ."
-
"What a lovely place to stay!"
So relaxing. Our 2 dogs absolutely loved it. Plenty of secure garden for them to explore.
-
"A beautiful place in a very quiet area."
We were very lucky with the weather and spent most evenings on the decking enjoying the views. Have booked to come back in December. Thank you For a lovely holiday.
-
"Michael was a friendly host, who welcomed us when we arrived, but then let us enjoy our holiday peacefully."
He lives onsite so we could easily speak to him when we needed to. There is a large enclosed garden, which is perfect for dogs and children. The property had everything we needed for a lovely stay, and once we worked out the best routes (avoiding the narrow one track country roads) local amenities and the M4 were easy to access.
-
"Cwm Gran Meadows is the perfect setting for a relaxing break away from everything and the chance to recharge your batteries!"
The setting is idyllic and so peaceful. We had a lovely time and our puppy thoroughly enjoyed the enclosed garden which he could explore and relax in. He made friends with the owners dog Rocky and enjoyed watching Rocky and the chickens!
-
"Fantastic quiet views, in a lovely area for both of us and our 4 year old twins."
Xx
-
"Really nice cottage with a friendly owner."
Bit pricey but the isolation was just what we needed. Only downside was the rough road that led to the cottage road, otherwise fantastic experience
-
"This was a beautiful place to stay."
We had a very relaxing holiday, it was so nice to wake up to the sounds of the countryside. Accommodation was spotless and there was everything you needed supplied. The owners were friendly and chatty but did not intrude. They had a loverly dog rocky who was so friendly. The garden is a great space to relax for us and our dog and the decked balcony gave you fantastic views. Thanks for the supplies including the fresh eggs from your chickens. We didn't want to leave.
-
"Very friendly host."
Beautiful location, away from shops and town though off the beaten track. Very bumpy long dirt track to get to property, but once there beautiful.
-
"A fabulous cottage, in an idyllic setting."
Very quiet and relaxing with all the amenities you need. There is a long driveway heading in to the cottage area which could be smoother but the overall atmospherical effect of the journey adds to the experience. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the local pub was extremely welcoming and the local countryside provides plenty of entertainment.
-
"Really comfortable, modern accommodation."
Nice and quiet. Off the beaten track but not far from amenities. Nice secure garden for the dogs. We've already booked our next stay here!
-
"The only drawback was the long very bumpy track to the property but it was worthwhile when you arrived."
In the summer I think it would be an exceptional place to stay with the views and your own garden .
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cwm Gran Meadows, although we would have liked better weather to fully appreciate the attractiveness of the views from the decked area outside!"
As others have said, the one drawback is the rough track leading to the accommodation but the comfort of the "cottage" makes up for this. The owner is there if you need him but otherwise leaves you to yourselves. There was a welcome gift of milk, eggs and bread awaiting our arrival: very useful. Although situated in the heart of the countryside, Cwm Gran is well placed for visiting the area and very close to the M4 if you want to go further afield. We found almost everything we needed so far as kitchen equipment was concerned; a teapot would have been nice, but I suppose most people put teabags straight in their mug these days! There were several pyrex dishes for the microwave though none had lids, so cling film would be needed if you intend to cook that way. These are very minor niggles!!
-
"We loved the peaceful location and the lovely modern facilities."
There were some kitchen utensils which would have helped in our cooking, like a bigger cheese grater, a bigger caffitierre, and a tea pot. But all in all, it was very good. A relaxing place for a holiday. We wished we could have enjoyed the garden more had the weather been kinder. The decking area was fantastic. Thank you to Mr Lee who was flexible with our arrival time allowing us to access the property earlier. The one drawback were the instructions on how to get there. The turning off from the Llanharry road is tricky and needs a map.
-
"Very nice place to stay could not fault it,enclosed gardens- dogs could sit out all day without us having to worry,if you want peace and quiet this is the place, its in the middle of nowhere, nice pub at the end of the lane-Fox and Hounds would have to drive due to narrow road with no pavement ."
.the owner Mike is a nice guy and around if you need him and his dog Rocky is very friendly,,
-
"Beautiful accommodation set in idyllic surroundings Mark and Rocky a total treasure."
Beautiful beaches close by.
-
"Recently refurbished by the looks."
Modern well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom, comfortable beds and settees. Lovely gardens with decked area and seating. Quiet location. Absolutely perfect.
-
"The only one downside to this cottage was the long drive down a long rough track to the property."
If this is not a problem to you then this is a super cottage.
-
"This Self catering holiday cottage is set in the middle of meadows with stunning views all around, if you’re looking for peace and quiet you will find it here."
Set way back from the road it’s blissfully peaceful, however if you yearn for some retail therapy there is a retail shopping centre 15 minutes drive away, Cardiff is approximately 30 minutes drive away with good rail links close by. Local beaches approximately 40 minutes drive. Beautiful horses and wildlife for nature lovers. The cottage is impeccably decorated and has its own large garden with an outdoor decking area for outside dining. Fully contained with everything you could possibly need. local pub/restaurant Fox & Hounds 5 minutes drive away pet friendly with a large enclosed garden, if tranquility is what you need look no further.
-
"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful spot overlooking the Valleys."
We were made very welcome by the owner. Great garden and views. Comfortable furniture and fab shower/bathroom. We loved everything about this place and it’s location.
-
"My partner and I and our 3 dogs finally got around to having our 1st holiday together and it was my birthday on the 27th too, so it made it more special and we absolutely loved every minute of our holiday."
When we got there Mike the owner had left us bread, milk and packet biscuits which was a really nice touch. Mike was around if we needed him but he left us to enjoy our holiday in which we did and we can't thank Mike enough for everything. The property is ideally set surrounded by fields, lovely scenery. It was lovely to wake up every morning and see some of the wild horses over the fence which the dog's loved barking at, and they loved barking at Mike's lovely dog Rocky too lol. It was perfect for the dog's because the garden is really big and enclosed so we were happy to know that they were safe playing outside. We really couldn't fault anything and we will definitely be going back again. Thank you again for everything Mike and Rocky

"This holiday was superb we have never spent a week in such nice surroundings the ..."
This holiday was superb we have never spent a week in such nice surroundings the owner was always there if needed but you wouldn't know there was someone else living there would recommend to my doggie friends as the garden was a godsend Misha spent most her time on the patio or watching the chickens and horses I would like to say the wild horses don't bother you at all they don't usually come out till night it was well value for money thank you
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!"
It was lovely weather and we were able to find everything we needed, when we required it. A lovely place to stay and it was nice to wake up and hear the nature around us!
-
"The owner of the cottage had thought of evrything to make it feel home from home."
He was very accommodating with any request we had which was not a lot as everything was catered for.
-
"The sat nav details are incorrect [post code] this made the initial day’s a lilltle stressful."
Can I suggest that the post code of the house near the top of the drive(on the main road) is given, then you would only need to give very short instructions to the property. The post code given takes you up very narrow roads and doesn’t take you to the property. Thank you
-
"If anyone going has a fear of horses there are around 12 wild ones sometimes at the entrance of the property, and an electric fence is not signed, only in the garden."
-
"Prachtig huis, heel vriendelijk de eigenaar."
Mooie weg naar het huis met loslopende paarden. Alles top, echt een aanrader Volgend jaar weer !!!!
-
"The owner is very discrete but attentive when there is a query."
Facilities were excellent in a very peaceful and warm setting. Will certainly book again.
-
"Great place but very difficult to find but a lovely cottage and owners were very nice."
-
"Great holiday had by all clean home from home ,tricky to find at first would be the only negative"
-
"A lovely cottage in a fantastic setting."
Excellent for dogs as the garden is fully enclosed. Was a little difficult to find for a first time visitor. We enjoyed our stay very much.
-

About the location
LLANHARRY
Bridgend 9 miles; Cardiff 15 miles.
The village of Llanharry is situated close to the M4 motorway, between the town of Bridgend and the capital city of Cardiff. Llanharry has a church called St. Illtud, which was re-built in 1867-8, and two pubs, The Bear Inn, which was a school in the 19th century and The Fox and Hounds, known to date back to the Tudor times. Very close by are the historic villages of Llantrisant and Talbot Green. Set on a hilltop, Llantrisant offers visitors wonderful cobbled streets to wander and some fascinating buildings and Talbot Green has a variety of shops and restaurants. Just five miles away is the traditional village of Heol-y-Cyw, offering a church, rugby ground, pub and shop, and slightly further north is the town of Tonyrefail, which has selection of shops, pubs and churches. The small town of Bridgend is close by with its wonderful designer outlet village, so shopping sprees are a definite item to add to your days out, and within reach is Cardiff where shopping, theatre visits, rugby and football matches can be enjoyed.
