  • "A very welcoming, sociable and comfortable house close to Porlock High Street."

The property has been decorated to high standards and is well equipped with everything guests may need. Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. Has outside space, decking area and nice gardens. Highly recommended.

  • "I had an amazing week at a lovely house."

It was super clean and had everything we needed. Parking was no problem at all - we were able to park 2 cars right outside the front. This place offers great value for money, and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. The area is absolutely beautiful! There's a fantastic park just around the corner which my kids absolutely adored. It's just a 15-minute drive to Minehead for that classic seaside vibe. The Porlock weir is also very pretty - only a 10-minute drive, or more like a 30-minute walk downhill. We also loved the open-roof bus, but I would recommend driving to Blue Anchor Caravan Park because that's where the bus starts. It tends to get full once it arrives in Porlock. The only downside is that the stairs to the top bedroom are quite steep, so it may not be very suitable for younger children or elderly people.

The house was extremely well furnished with plenty of the everyday appliances one would need at hand. The information provided at the property was very helpful. The nearby facilities were within walking distance for those basic essentials. 'Piggy in the middle' provided us with a very good meal and the local bars were very good. There are plenty of enjoyable walks roundabout the area. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to the area again in the near future and if available, staying at Enfield. Thank you to the owners and in particular to the cleaner for providing us with an exceptionally well presented house for us to stay.

There was plenty of room for the five of us to comfortably relax in the living room and eat around the dining table. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed, even cooking oil and spices, which is really helpful when on a self- catering holiday. The decor was modern and fresh and it was clearly a much loved home. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and impeccably clean. The location was fantastic, a brief walk to the Main Street and lots of lovely country and seaside walks on the doorstep. It provided a great base from which to explore the local area. The owner was friendly when communicating and the process of booking through Sykes was very easy. We would recommend the property to anyone and are looking to return.

There was a lot of space and the house was decorated to a very high standard. We all commented that it was like being at home. The owners we would guess use the house frequently. As stated it was home from home, not items being bought for a rented house which most people would never buy. Well done owners for providing first rate accommodation ( a lot of thought had gone into the design and furniture ) at a reasonable price. These were the considered views of all 4 adults. About the location

PORLOCK

Minehead 5.5 miles; Lynton 11 miles.

Porlock is a quaint village, popular with tourists due its character, proximity to the lovely North Somerset coastline and situation within the Exmoor National Park. There are plenty of little gift shops along with pubs, cafes and restaurants to be found and only two miles away, the picturesque harbour of Porlock Weir offers wonderful views across the Bristol Channel. The Porlock Hill takes travelers up a steep, winding road out of the village to the Exmoor Hills, where walkers, horse riders and cyclists will love the open space, where ponies and red deer roam the moors. In 2011, Exmoor was designated as Europe’s first International Dark Skies Reserve, and so this is an excellent base for a romantic evening spent gazing at the stars, where a clear night unveils an abundance of interesting constellations to the naked eye. Porlock offers the choice of sea fishing from the weir, and the reservoirs and rivers of Exmoor are only a short, scenic drive away. Golfers can stay in Porlock and enjoy one of the several courses on the edges of Exmoor, with the nearest only seven miles away. The medieval village of Dunster, where the castle dominates the skyline, makes a great day out, or take a ride on the West Somerset steam train along the coast to the little harbour village of Watchet. A fabulous village location with lots of outdoor pursuits to interest every visitor.
