  • "We loved our stay at Droop Farm Cottage."

It is so well equipped, with lots of little extras that we really appreciated. The garden is huge and, if you have a dog, it will love playing on the lawn. It was a shame that we didn't have decent weather as we would have loved to sit out there. Inside, the cottage is very clean, cosy and comfortable. I could live there! It's in a great location; lots to do locally but we also travelled to Sidmouth in Devon and the Dorset coast. The village shop is very well stocked. David and Tracey are fantastic hosts and we would love to come back again one day. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Droop Farm Cottage. We are so pleased you and your furry friend all enjoyed your stay at the cottage and the lovely surroundings. We would love to welcome you again for another stay in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet and peaceful area, with nearby footpaths for dog walks."

Absolutely perfect for our needs, with the downstairs bedroom and shower room ideal for those with restricted mobility. Excellent hosts, welcoming and friendly, provided a well considered care package with superb home made goodies for human and canine treats. Lots of thought and care has gone into equipping the cottage so it feels like a home, not a typical holiday let. Comfortable beds, quality bedding, towels, finishing touches, nothing missing, no corners cut! Recommend this 100%. We loved our stay, and would definitely return. Thanks David, Tracey and Alfie, we had a wonderful time!

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Droop Farm Cottage. We are so pleased to hear how much you all enjoyed your stay with us and that it felt like home. Nice touches around the cottage for example shower gel and hand soap etc in the bathrooms. The comfiest beds with luxury bedding. High quality towels to use. The information folder was very helpful and useful for planning our days. Udder farm shop was an excellent recommendation. Very generous and thoughtful fresh food basket with locally sourced products left for our arrival. Including the best lemon drizzle cake we have ever eaten. Definitely above and beyond any other holiday cottage we have stayed in. Loved having little Alfie the dog coming in to visit. Owners friendly and not intrusive. Wi-Fi excellent especially considering the location. Beautiful gardens. We will definitely try and book to come back in the summer time. Highly recommend. Thank you letting out your beautiful cottage.

  • "Such a wonderful cottage."

An absolute haven for quiet reflection. My kids enjoyed the absolute massive garden and daily visits by the resident Westie, Alfie. My Westie adored him too! The place was great. So well equipped. thank you for the gift baskets. Lovely treats enjoyed by us all. It was so comfortable. Bedrooms were lovely. Wi-fi was excellent. Smart TV also welcomed by kids. The owners live next door….they are very welcoming and friendly but very unobtrusive. It is a trek to get anywhere….. expect to be travelling at least 45 mins to sightsee! 30 miles takes ages due to the country roads! But there are great places to visit: hurst castle by boat was a particular highlight. We would definitely return.

Thank you for this wonderful review. We're delighted you, your children and your Westie enjoyed your stay and found the cottage to be so comfortable. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Hideaway Cottages Property Owner

The beautiful surroundings and peace and quiet makes for a wonderful time away. The welcome pack was amazing, certainly above and beyond any other holiday cottages we have stayed in. You do need to plan your days out as the cottage is situated in a quiet hamlet but at least you get the best of both worlds and within 45mins you can be enjoying sea views and he business of the beach. Our daily visits from little Alfie was a delight and we didn’t mind him calling on us. The owners do live immediately behind the cottage and were not too intrusive, occasionally looking for/collecting Alfie. In all we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Droop Farm Cottage and would not hesitate to recommend

Very clean, very well equipped with a good standard and range of equipment. Very good Wi-Fi. Large open garden area which is enclosed but also shared with the owners own property next door. The property is well placed to access lots of National Trust properties as well as the south coast, though expect a good 40 min drive each way to do this. A very generous welcome pack - thank you. Our dog and ourselves very much enjoyed our stay here.

Everything said by others about the excellent goody pack to greet us was true. Great location with ample parking, very well-equipped kitchen and lots of books and games. The jigsaw puzzle (1000 pieces) was testing but the living room coffee table was ideal for spreading out the pieces. The Antelope Pub was good for New Years Eve entertainment although a bit of a hike in the wet. We particularly enjoyed the Bar Billiards. A very enjoyable stay with excellent, attentive hosts.

Thank you for the lovely comments, the owners really do try and make every stay special for guests. It's so lovely to hear everyone's views on the cottage and the fabulous places they have been to during their stay. We would love to welcome you again soon. Kind regards Hideaways Property Owner

The best Welcome Pack we have seen in over 20 years of renting holiday cottages! The cottage is in great location: a quiet position with plenty of nearby footpaths for walking the dog. Further afield, it's easy to reach the Dorset coast, the New Forest and places like Stourhead, Bradbury Rings and Kingston Lacy. The local pub (The Antelope) was welcoming and served tapas and standard pub food that was well cooked.

Wow another fabulous feedback, its great to hear you all enjoyed your stay and the lovely welcome pack. We agree the cottage is situated in a great spot for walks, right from your doorstep. We hope to welcome you again soon. Kind regards Hideaways Property Owner

So often reviews state ‘this cottage had everything we needed’, but this one truly did. The owners had thought of everything! The locally sourced welcome pack was amazing and very generous. We particularly liked the home baked cake and homemade preserve. Wi-Fi/broadband connection was great (3 teenagers mean this is essential!) and the fish and chip van that visits the village on a Wednesday is worth a visit. The resident dog, Alfie was welcoming and got on well with our cockapoo. The garden was very dog friendly. If you are looking for a quiet tranquil location for a rest and re-charge, we would highly recommend a stay here.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, it sounds like your family and furry friend had a lovely stay. • "My wife and myself, stayed in Droop Farm Cottage to familiarize ourselves with Dorset, and to visit possible rural locations for a property move from Surrey."

The cottage is ideally situated to explore Dorset, it is extremely rural with all the advantages of wildlife, countryside, and peace, and yet it is not far from the Dorset Jurassic Coast, or neighbouring country or local attractions. The cottage is extremely well appointed, there is plenty of space, the beds are comfortable, and honestly, it wants for nothing. The owners, David and Tracey are extremely helpful, friendly, and genuine people, and their dog Alfie is a joy. They were extremely generous with their unexpected welcome pack, which included a “Jar-Of” Tracey's award winning marmalade, and a delicious home baked cake. We recommend Droop Farm Cottage to one and all, you will not be disappointed.

The location was great, quiet and peaceful but with places to visit, (including the coast) and plenty of walks in the area. The garden and outside were well kept and there are terrific views from the patio area. We received a very warm welcome from Tracey and Alfie, (the dog) and felt immediately at home. The cottage was wonderful, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room and spacious comfortable bedrooms. Everything was spotless and the cottage was full of thoughtful touches. The welcome basket of bread, milk, Dorset cereals and Tracey's wonderful jar of marmalade was very much appreciated. It was fitted out and furnished about a year ago to a really high standard. We had everything we needed. They made us feel at home; there was a very nice personal welcome pack and there is even one for dogs if you have them! We felt we could ask for help - though didn't need any - at any time. The garden is lovely to relax in and the countryside around is typical off-the-beaten track Dorset. Droop is a tiny hamlet (don't expect to find a Tesco down the road) but it doesn't take any time to get to attractive little villages or some of the more well known attractions of sea and countryside.
