  • "We enjoyed this beautiful lodge was so peaceful and quite had everythink we needed would be good if the check In was earlier would definitely recommend and love to come again the owner was very helpful too ."

  • "Spacious lodge in a quiet setting with fishing lake which was a bonus."

Caught some large carp. Clean throughout but getting abit tired in places. Recliner seats did not work. Dining room seats worn. Flooring was coming up in places. Little things which would have made it 5 star rating. Hot tub was well used. Although would have made it better if it was covered up as we had to use umbrellas in the rain. The lodge does have a washing machine/tumble dryer which is not mentioned in the property details. There are no instructions on how to use the cooker/microwave which was a problem. In the end we had to use Google to fathom to work them to cook things. You access the lodge via a long single track with hardly no passing places so beware. Nearest supermarket is back in Tiverton but there are two Spar shops in Bampton for the essentials but difficult to find somewhere to park. We would book again if we were looking for a peaceful setting.

  • "Stayed at 1 Oak for a friends 30th Birthday celebration."

The property was beautiful. Very clean and homely, the scenery was absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend and would defiantly love to come back. The host was wonderful and let us check in slightly earlier and leave slightly later. That would be the only advice is maybe to have early check-in and later check-outs so the full weekend could be made use of. Fabulous weekend

  • "The lodge was beautifully decorated, clean and well laid out."

It had everything we needed and more. The owner Glynis was very friendly and welcoming lovely lady, she even allowed us to check in early and check out late. There was a bottle of Prosecco and a tin of biscuits on our arrival which we thought was a lovely gift thank you. This was a gem of a lodge and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

  • "Last minute booking for myself, husband and son (15) and what a find!"

Warm and welcoming host who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and even left us a welcome bottle of bubbles and biscuits. The lodge was immaculately presented but still felt homely..even better than the pictures. It is situated with another in its own grounds with breathtaking views of the countryside and 2 lakes that are a stones throw away. The wildlife we saw and fed on our stay from Canadian geese with their young, ducks, rabbits and pheasants, to sit and watch the huge fish and dragonflies was truely magical. The lodge has everything you need, the beds are super comfortable, big fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer and of course the hot tub which was clean, hot and ready to get right into! If your looking for peaceful getaway or a beautiful base to explore Devon, I can't recommend staying here enough. We cant wait to return ..next time I'm bringing my fishing rod, binoculars and staying longer!! Thanks again The Farrer Family X
