• "What a beautiful place to stay, very comfortable with everything you need."

The welcome pack was amazing and so thoughtful, will definitely be returning, we are missing it already and for those of you with electric vehicles we found quick charging points 5 minutes away where you can have a coffee or visit a farm shop while you wait. • "Extremely helpful owner made our stay straightforward."

  Nice quiet location two miles from a main road, and plenty to see in the area. Plenty of space and a secluded patio if you don't want to go out (??) Most major supermarkets within ten miles. The Newt is excellent but £80, unless you are an RHS member when it is free on a Tuesday, Montacute, Barrington Hall, Tintinhull and Lytes Cary NT within easy reach. Haynes Motor Museum and Fleet Air Arm Museum less than ten minutes away.

• "We had a relaxing week at old farm stable."

  This was a week of R&R for us after recent illness & it was the perfect home from home. Every detail has been meticulously thought about & it's obvious to see how much care has been put into it. Everything that was needed was there along with a few things you wouldn't think about (magazines, books, games etc). We've stayed at a few Sykes homes now but this one really did have the wow factor. We were welcomed with a lovely cream tea as well as local honey, cider, eggs etc. Niki & Chris were lovely hosts, nothing was too much trouble & they were very attentive without being obtrusive, thank you both for the opportunity to stay here, you really have created something special. We would highly recommend old farm stables, thank you for a lovely week despite us having to leave a little early due to illness from Paul, Claire & Kobi

• "Amazing accommodation."

  We had read previous reviews and hoped for something special however Old Farm Stables was totally above and beyond our expectations. From the gifts of Somerset Honey, Elderflower Presse, fresh Eggs from Henrietta & co, Somerset Cider, delicious lemon cake and fresh daffodils to the thoughtful dog bowl, doggie treats and even a towel to rub down our Labrador. The lemon cake, Tea, Coffee and Milk was also most welcome on our arrival. Thank you Niki and Chris - you have made the barn a relaxing and very welcoming home from home.

• "The Stables were immaculately clean and very well equipped."

  The towels/bath sheets were a comfort to use. The 'welcome tray' was very much appreciated including their 'own grown eggs" Nicola was most helpful and her recommendation of 'The George' for somewhere to eat was much appreciated. The open fire was easy to light and together with the central heating kept us very cosy

• "I booked this for my partners birthday and I must say we weren’t disappointed."

  The barm was perfect and the setting you couldn’t fault. Very clean and tidy and you can tell that the eye for detail was perfect. Plenty of stuff to do in and around areas and plenty of pubs to visit for lunch or dinner. I highy recommend a stay here you won’t be disappointed.

• "Old farm stables was all you would expect from a holiday property with everything you would need for a comfortable and pleasurable stay."

• "What a great property with everything you need was there."

  Exceptional property very clean and layout of the furniture was awesome. Dog friendly with a enclosed area for Dudley to mooch about. This has to be the top property we stayed in with all our holidays staying in cottages over the last ten years. We had wonderful weather and the owners Nicola and Chris were very engaging and were very friendly and made you feel welcome to stay in their property. You will enjoy your stay if you book this cottage.

• "Just spent a week in this idyllic cottage."

  Was welcomed on arrival by the owners. Once inside we found a very generous welcome pack and a beautifully appointed cottage. It was modern, spacious and very well equipped- we wanted for nothing. • "A wonderful stay!"

  This rates as one of the top stays we have been too, cleanliness, facilities, the little extra's of tea, coffee, eggs, cake, chocolates, salt, pepper etc add to a great retreat. The location is also great for visiting local places, we ventured to Yeovil Country Park, Ferne Animal Sanctuary and also Burton Bradstock and the wonderful Hive restaurant recommended by the owners. Our lovely Newfoundland settled quickly into the lovely surroundings, plenty of room and so dog friendly with an enclosed courtyard. A field led straight from the property which was great if you have a four legged friend with you. The owners were great too, anything you needed you just had to ask, but we didn't, everything was just perfect! If you are looking for a place to stay - just book it! We will return for sure... • "Wow! We stayed at Old Farm Stables for a week to explore the surrounding countryside, villages and tourist attractions."

  Perfectly situated and not that far from anywhere but, all the same so peaceful and quiet in the village. The stables are immaculate and so well designed. It was like home from home; warm, comfortable and with everything you could need for a stay. The weather was not brilliant but the stables were warm, cosy and the log burner was an added bonus. The garden at the rear is perfect for sitting and having a cuppa (on the odd occasion the sun did shine for us!) and dog friendly. The owners are lovely people who will offer some great advice about local eateries and places to visit. Lovely welcome hamper too on arrival! We would highly recommend The Old Stables and we will definitely be back!

• "We have visited many holiday cottages over the years and this was one of the nicest."

  Warm, comfortable and extremely spacious for a one bedroom property, lots of little extras provided including eggs from Nicki’s own hens and delicious cake, we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Very quiet but accessible to lots of places. We didn’t go too far as we came for a relaxing few days but enjoyed Castle Cary and Bruton, both within 30 minutes. We look forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

• "This was by far the nicest stay we have had for a long time, it was just 5* very well equipped and spotlessly clean."

• "We had a wonderful stay at the Old Stables."

  It is a beautifully converted and furnished building - very warm and comfortable for our Christmas stay, complete with decorated Christmas tree. Very clean and everything worked perfectly. We loved the space of the open plan layout and the log burner in particular. The kitchen is well equipped and had every thing needed to cook Christmas dinner - and always nice to have a Nespresso machine! Very dog friendly in the house water bowl, dog towel, torch and poop bags provided) and outside with a small enclosed rear garden and many lovely walks on footpaths through the fields and quiet country lanes straight from the house. Niki and Chris were very helpful with suggestions for walks and pubs. It was perfect for a relaxing and very comfortable Christmas. We would highly recommend the Old Stables. • "Awesome, beautiful property."

  It has been renovated and maintained to a very high standard. It's spacious but cosy and is well equipped; there wasn't anything we needed that we didn't find already there. The enclosed garden at the back was a bonus, as we could let our dog out without her wandering off. Niki the owner was lovely and very helpful. Communication was great and directions to find the property were spot on. All round we had a fantastic stay!

• "Lovely comfortable cottage in the perfect spot to explore South Somerset North Dorset and beyond."

  Freshly laid eggs, apples, cake and a bottle of fizz to welcome us when we arrived. We used the log burner in the evenings and there was a great supply of wood all week (for a small charge) Thank you Niki and Chris.

  Its well equipped, with extra touches. The welcome pack was wonderful, especially the free range eggs, homemade cake and prosecco. Jack the goldie loved the enclosed garden/ patio. Niki & Chris are wonderful hosts, not intrusive, but on hand & nothing is too much trouble. The area is perfect for some well needed R&R, also its situated in a prime area for days out. • "We arrived late and the lights were on to welcome us."

  The property smelt wonderful as we entered and the milk, eggs, cake and Prosecco were really appreciated! Even the dog was made to feel welcome with treats supplied! Niki and Chris are lovely and the perfect hosts, they have lovingly restored Old Farm Stables and made it a very comfortable, stylish holiday cottage with everything you need supplied. • "Lovely property and everything is as described."

  The log burner and wood are a great addition to keep the place warm. Sofa and bed are comfy and provide those homely comforts. There are great links to all local places via walking or car. Farm shops and pubs are not too far away. The hosts are fantastic, giving great advice and answering queries we had.

• "As soon as we arrived we received a friendly welcome from Niki and Chris and brief tour of the property."

  We were given some freshly laid eggs, some delicious home made lemon drizzle cake, tea, coffee and milk, and a bottle of wine to get us going- all much appreciated! The property was beautifully presented and extra special as it was brand new. There was a comfortable bed, quality bedding and fluffy new towels, like being in a 5* hotel. It was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. We used the log fire every evening and there was a plentiful supply of logs when we arrived. Chris brought more round whenever we needed them, for a small charge. We had a lovely week enjoying the local area, and although the weather was cold, we had some lovely sunny days too. Thank you Niki and Chris for looking after us. We wish you every success in your business.

Little things like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid was a big convenience. The owners were very lovely and helpful but left you to yourself and not intrusive. Highly recommend staying here
