• "This a wonderfully appealing cottage beautifully presented in a lovely village."

  The owners were so lovely with their communication on arrival and lovely welcome pack. Perfect location to have access to Dorset and Somerset sights. We highly recommend this property.

• "Possibly the best holiday house I’ve stayed in."

  Set on a quiet country lane with plenty of off-road parking, house is spacious,clean and fitted out. The owners seem to have anticipated every need, from kitchen equipment to spare towels and even face flannels.The kitchen / dining area is spacious with plenty of storage and a large fridge. The living room is very comfortable. The house is fitted out with TVs in every room and even an area when kids could have their own TV.The four bedrooms were spacious with very comfy beds. I don’t normally write a lot of feedback but this house is the exception that deserves positive comment. An excellent place to stay.

• "Amazing, So Clean, Wow - all words that we used within minutes of being through the front door!"

  This place is wonderful and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay as confortable as it can be. The house is well equipped with high end appliances meaning you want for nothing. Location is great for walking and exploring and a pub is within walking distance across fields whhich gets my vote! We will definately be back! Thank you.

• "We are four friends that have had a weekend away every year for the last 20 years."

  This is by far the best cottage we have stayed in, it is so well equipped, decorated beautifully and so comfortable. The communication from the owner was great. We had an amazingly relaxing weekend despite the best efforts of a storm. We would highly recommend this property.

• "8 of us - 4 couples - (good friends) - from different parts of the country - met at The Old Post Office, and spent 4 happy days there, and all the previous reviews, without exception, have said it all."

  IT IS FABULOUS; we all loved it. The interior design, the furniture, the furnishings, the kitchen, the equipment (loads of it!) the beds, the showers……everything is of good quality, and of a high standard. Emma and Kerry have thought of everything. Wonderful attention to detail, and lovely touches, that make it a very comfortable house and a joy to stay in. We had wet and cold weather, but the house is warm and cosy and a pleasure to come back home to. Thank you E and K, we all had an absolutely brilliant time and a lot of fun. We will all be recommending you to everyone we know. Elaine and Kevin and the gang. Sykes Company stated there were no hairdryers….not true…E&K had placed one in every bedroom

• "What a fabulous house with quality throughout."

  The owners are very helpful and left us an amazing welcome hamper. As previously stated, everything is of a high quality from the interior decoration, furniture, etc, right through to kitchen utensils, towels etc. Relaxing in the Hot tub was a refreshing welcome after a day out walking in the cold weather. The house layout could not be more suited to our needs with 6 adults and a 2 year old infant. Would highly recommend.

• "Perfection."

  The Old Post Office was everything we wanted and more. We had the most perfect Christmas stay with the house beautifully decorated. The bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed. It was a home away from home and we will definitely be booking to come back. Thank you for our stay, it was perfect.

• "Wow - what a fabulous holiday home - and one of the best we have ever stayed in."

  From the moment you enter the Old Post Office, you quickly become aware of its beautiful decor, luxurious furnishings & spotless cleanliness. With a superb 'welcome' hamper of goodies & fresh flowers, Kerry & Emma have thought of everything you may need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location is truly rural and so quiet yet ideally situated to visit the many attractions in beautiful Dorset.

• "We were absolutely delighted when we arrived at the Old Post Office."

  It is a beautiful cottage both inside and out. The attention to detail from the owners was excellent, even down to a welcome pack for not only us, but the dog as well, and flowers and Halloween decorations. We had everything we needed and more for a very comfortable stay. Loved the outdoor space and hot tub and the provision of lots of towels. The kitchen is beautiful and provided us with a space for family cooking and eating. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Ieuan and Pam

• "We very much enjoyed our stay at Old post Office."

• "We had a wonderful stay at the Old Post Office."

  Everything that we could possibly need for our stay was provided together with information and instructions. A basket of goodies and flowers greeted us on our arrival which was a lovely surprise, together with a note from the owners. We certainly hope to return..

• "This is the best holiday house we have ever been to, it was absolutely wonderful."

  The location is peaceful and calming, the garden is perfect and private and the house is just beautiful. The thoughtfulness and little details such as the little labels around the house, the extra hot tub towels, the clear instructions for everything. The owners really have made this an incredible place to stay. Thank you Kerry and Emma for the best UK holiday we’ve ever had. You have the best taste and have created a very special experience.

• "Such a lovely cottage."

  We enjoyed a very nice week here in Dorset. The facilities at the cottage were excellent. Everything had been thought through and communication for into such as local fish and chips for the Friday night was brilliant. We couldn’t find the path to the pub but this was probably our fault as we got lost. Lots of Local places to visit. Would recommend.

• "We were two couples and a dog staying for a week at the beginning of June 2024."

  The Old Post Office was immaculate; a wonderful place to stay for the week and the property has been exceedingly well thought out for the convenience of a short stay. Loads of thoughtful touches around the house which were really impressive. Also, it’s obvious that the owners are dog owners and loads of small dog friendly touches as well. We had a minor niggle early in the stay, but I must say that the owners, Kerry and Emma, were responsive, attentive and resolved the issue promptly. It’s clear to us that Kerry and Emma are rightly proud of their property and the experience they provide, and serious about making sure their guests have a wonderful time. We did have a wonderful time and can highly recommend. Thank you Kerry, Emma and Sykes Cottages. In the words of the renowned poet Arnie….. I’ll be back!

• "We had a lovely week at the Old Post Office which is well located for exploring Sherborne and the surrounding countryside and not too far from the south coast."

  It’s a very quiet location, but easy to get to. Several good pubs close by for eating out. The house has been beautifully renovated and looks very smart - a really nice amalgamation of old feel and modern facilities. The welcome hamper was a really nice touch and full of delicious foods. All the numerous thoughtful touches - from excellent kitchen equipment, to hot-tub towels, and the dog accessories - they make for a really comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our stay, the fantastic weather, and the friendly local people. Would highly recommend

• "We had a great week in the Old Post Office, it was very comfortable and was clear lots of care and attention had gone into the recent refurb, both from the perspective of how the cottage is set up to the little things that make for a relaxing and enjoyable week away."

  We were impressed when we first walked in and all of us enjoyed our stay, even without the weather to make full use of the garden and hot tub! We’d love to be back when we next visit Dorset.
