  • "Myself, Mom and 2 Children stayed over the October Half Term Week."

Walking into the lodge the only words we had were ‘wow’. It was absolutely beautiful and more, the pictures online really don’t do it justice. We had the most amazing, relaxing week away, it is located on such a peaceful pitch overlooking the golf course, close to all amenities all within walking distance, swimming, soft play, pubs etc. The lodge itself had everything you could possibly need, the welcome pack was such a lovely touch, Thankyou. Beds were comfy, towels were fluffy, enough toilet roll, kitchen roll, foil, cloths etc to start you off. I absolutely loved cooking in the kitchen. Shower was great and an added bonus of tvs in all the bedrooms. If I was being picky I would ask for more hangers, a couple more hooks around, esp for a dressing gown in the bedrooms would be handy/tea towel in the kitchen, maybe a bigger bin in the kitchen and a small lamp in the twin bedroom as the main light can be a little bright when you want to read at night. The clothes rack was slightly broken which we left a comment in the comments book which I’m sure has been sorted already. Overall it was a much needed break away and we were so lucky to spend it in such a beautiful lodge, so much so we have just booked to go back February half term. Thankyou and we can’t wait to come back soon :)

  • "We stayed in this lodge last year in July and were blown away by how lovely and luxurious it was so we decided to return again this year expecting the same amazing experience."

.....sadly this wasn't to be. On arrival we found the gate latch having been completely snapped off so were unable to secure the gate which with 2 dogs was not a good start. There was a note in the guest book to say it had been reported but no one came to at least try to temporarily fix during our stay. The general cleanliness of the lodge was not great with dust, cobwebs etc. (I was an nhs housekeeping supervisor for many yrs). We looked for something to clean around with but no cleaning products left only washing up liquid. Alot of the furniture was looking and felt quite worn. The corner sofa was not secure and kept separating, the mattress in the main bedroom both sides are visibly sunken, some of the bedding was ripped or had marks on, main bathroom shower screen leaked so water went over the floor. We were all very disappointed as its such a lovely lodge in a great location with lovely views. It just looks and feels like it's sadly not been very well looked after and maintained. If it was brought back up to its previous high standards we would love to return but sadly won't at present due to how we found it this year. We even came home early as we weren't very comfortable.

Firstly, the damage to the pedestrian gate latch was not replaced or repaired in time for your stay, having reported it early on 12th July, apparently it takes two weeks to get a replacement. We inspect the lodge personally after and prior to guests arriving, we found it to be cleaned to a high standard, unfortunately cobwebs seem to be an ongoing issue and appear on a regular basis. Regarding the corner sofa, we found two screws had become loose and these have now been secured. We are in the process of replacing the mattress as soon as possible. As our lodge is only three years old we are very sorry you think our furniture is quite worn and you had to leave earlier than you would have liked. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable lodge on a nice quiet holiday park."

Provided most things we needed apart from drying cloths and a cloth to wipe down kitchen work tops and table. As others have commented, access to the gym wasn’t free, we had to pay half price. Wells definitely worth a visit - Cathedral and Bishops Palace have a great dual ticket. Clarks village was also great, very dog friendly.

  • "Spacious comfortable and clean On arrival through the gate the surrounding area was very tranquil lovely views and a well presented park The lodge was comfortable and had everything we could need also a lovely welcome pack the beds were surprisingly comfortable."

Disappointingly from the moment we arrived maintenance was being carried out on the lodge next door through no fault of the owner but it meant we had to keep doors and windows closed due to a jcb and a circular saw covering the place in dust A little confused over the information given being told at entrance we had a private hire but info folder said we were part of the Unity group. Downloaded unity app but tried contacting them 3 times with no reply passes needed for the park which were £54 a day. At any other time if you are after a quite stay then this would be perfect for you the staff were lovely and friendly at the golf club we had lunch there but they only serve evening meals thu to sat. Owner has been informed that the toilet and bath panel are still broken comments from previous guests suggests ongoing issue, instructions on how to use hob and dishwasher would be handy but we YouTubed it! TV signal was hit and miss so we logged into our Amazon and Netflix

Thank you for your helpful feedback. Our guests should not have been quoted £54.00 for passes to use the facilities within the Park. We, the owners pay a fixed amount to cover all our guests staying at Fairway 24. Upon arrival we check any feedback from previous guests and noticed that there was a problem with the toilet seat and bath panel. We immediately informed maintenance who then came to repair the above but were told by our guests staying that they did not want them working whilst they were still in the lodge. We hope this will go someway to sorting out any future problems. Property Owner

When we arrived, there was a lovely welcome pack. The beds are very comfortable and in general the lodge is well maintained. The only small thing is that the toilet seat and bath panel in the main bathroom are loose and the extractor fans need a hoover, all easy to rectify. Not sure if the owners visit regular to notice minor points. We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend Thank you Mary

Thank you for your very helpful review, we did visit the lodge the day you left (but not always) and hoovered the extractor fan immediately. The toilet seat and bath panel also were reported to the maintenance team and would have been attended to either the same day or the next. I do hope you enjoyed your stay and again most grateful for your feedback. Mike and Avril Property Owner

This time no welcome pack which we thought was nice touch last time. Few issues shower in ensuite water not draining had to pull filter out each time to drain, was disgusting I wasn't cleaning it out. There was not one piece of toilet paper left or hand soap. Know it's self catering but could have left part of a roll before we went shopping. Just feels only want to make good impression first time. Won't be returning!

Less storage space in 2 of the 3 bedrooms (only a double wardrobe and bedside table drawers) but perfectly fine for shorter stays. Sizeable entrance with additional storage. Clean and well maintained, decent Wi-Fi. Lovely welcome pack on arrival, nice touch. Large fridge and a freezer. Close to all amenities but far enough away to be a peaceful location. Will definitely rebook to stay again.

Bit of an issue on arrival key not in key store, rang reception said we would need to ring sakes, put on hold for ages. Eventually a nice person from reception brought spare key, housekeeping forgot to return, but not the best start. Hot water wasn't working to have a bath only the shower rang reception twice for that issue. Otherwise luxurious lodge. Very spacious would probably return.

I am so sorry to hear the lodge key had been taken to the house keeping office by mistake, not what you need to happen after a long journey. Thank you for bringing to our attention the bath water not being hot enough, we instructed the maintenance team to mend the problem which was duly attended to. Hopefully, if you return to our lodge next year it will be a more relaxing experience. Property Owner

Everywhere was clean and tidy on arrival and a nice welcome pack awaited - even for the dog. Great parking-quiet and peaceful location and close to the beach for dog walks- plenty to do with younger children if needed. Found great food on the main park at Sea Salt- didn't get down to the country club but only as it stopped serving at 6pm. Only thing- the main park sign is Unity park- and as you are sent codes would be easier to be directed down Richards Way. I did go to main reception and was given welcome pack and passes for certain things and information so was just a bit confusing. Also the code to main gate does need a star/asterisk at the end for the barrier to go up. Would definitely recommend the accommodation.

  • "The property is beautiful and well equipped."

We will be using some style ideas in our own house :). We had a lovely stay during a rainy week, the welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The location is fantastic for golfers, with the club house in your doorstep. We found that the area in general is not as pet friendly as other locations we went on holiday. Mostly dogs are allowed outside but not inside pubs. Which made it challenging on rainy days. Having said that the beach is a real treat and our pug loved running on the beach and investigating the wreck. Cheddar Gorge is a must do for all visitors. The White Heart Pub is dog friendly and food is lovely. Unity supermarket is well stocked and within walking distance. There are lots to do for children in the area with the leisure park right on the doorstep. Not that it hampered our holiday at all, but the phone number provide in the welcome email is that of the sales office not reception and the entry code needs an asterisk after the four digit number.

Thank you so much for your kind review, and glad you enjoyed your stay despite the wet and windy weather. Thank you also for bringing to our attention the phone number and the asterisk needed, we will get that amended. I agree, the beach is ideal for dogs you must have a very happy pug! Property Owner

  • "A lovely lodge, quite new and on a peaceful site, however."

. the cleanliness was dreadful!! Beds very uncomfortable indeed, too soft and sunken and feeling springs did not offer the luxury stated. We have stayed in better lodges with good quality mattresses compared to this one. Nothing was done about these when we called customer services, not even an offer to come clean all the dirt behind doors, sides of toilets, hairs, dust, dirt, and more. The front door step didn't look cleaned or swept, hand prints on dresser, stains on bed linen and pillow cases, it felt awful especially as this was only just as coming out of covid times. There were dirty pans in drawers, and more.. this place is sadly not one we would return to and needs a deep clean and more TLC to be classes as the luxury it is listed as. No contact from the owners at all.. so expect whatever you get when you arrive. We will certainly not be returning to this particular lodge, far better there to book that is cared for and clean.. and will never book with Sykes again as they don't care if the place you are in is not as stated.

To say we were disappointed to the feedback from you on the 2nd September regarding your holiday in our lodge at Brean Country Club was an understatement. We pride ourselves in trying to offer the best possible holiday for our valued guests and welcome feedback to enable us to create a holiday of the highest possible standard. The guests who stayed before and after gave us very positive feedback finding everything to their liking. Their feedback is readily available for scrutiny in our Visitor's Book contained within the lodge. We are looking into why such a disappointing feedback was received during this weeks holiday and will amend any problems that need sorting, but having checked the lodge thoroughly, have found little to warrant such a negative report. The furniture was clean and comfortable, the beds were luxurious and we all slept really well. The decking outside had a table with four chairs for eating and a large glass topped table with rattan furniture also with cushions. We were really impressed by the standard of the home as you can tell. We would have no problems recommending this property. The units are well spaced apart and you have your privacy, but the neighbours were all really friendly. This is an honest and unbiased review and you really can't go wrong if you book this. There are four steps up to the unit and a small step to get in my mum who is 88 and needs a wheelchair was able to get up these, once inside its all on one level and the walk in shower was great for her. Lovely, bright and airy with lovely views across the golf course and beyond. Very well equipped except for lack of tin opener, which we didn’t realise until we needed it ! It was quite dusty everywhere but we think this should probably ease once tarmac of the road outside is completed, however, we don’t think it was cleaned/dusted very well before we arrived ? We would still highly recommend a stay though !

  • "The lodge is beautifully furnished."

However, it had not been thoroughly cleaned as would be expected in these times of Covid. There was a lot of dust on the headboards in the bedrooms and on the light fittings hanging down so it clearly hadn't been done. The mattresses are of poor quality and are very uncomfortable so didn't sleep well throughout our stay. More hangers in the wardrobes would be useful as we couldn't hang all of our clothes. There was only 5 hangers in the twin bedroom and not many more in the others. There was dust and dirt on the lip of the bath. When using the shower, the water didn't drain causing a build up and on further investigation found that the draining hole was full of hair from the previous guests. In the kitchen there wasn't any oven gloves which should be standard and not a lot of work space to prepare food.

Regarding the recent negative feedback from our last guest staying at fairway view, which related to the poor standard of cleaning. We have now made enquirers to employ a new contract cleaning company. Which we very much hope, will perform to the very high standards that we would expect for all of our future guests.
