  • "Had our second stay here and it was great again."

Very comfortable beds, and we were nice and cosy being able to put the heating on whenever necessary. Everything we needed in the kitchen for a short stay. Lovely walks over the sand dunes at Kenfig Pool, and beach walks at Porthcawl.

Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay again. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner

The farmhouse was very clean and all you needed. Just myself and my dog went and he loved the garden. Wish we could have stayed longer. The beaches are so wonderful. The log burner at night. Next time I will bring my family

Comfortable beds, nice facilities and plenty of crockery/glasses and space. Thank you for a great stay and we will book again I'm sure.

  • "Great stay in a beautiful location."

We really enjoyed our stay at Kenfig Farm, and the weather was great – all sunshine and no rain. There is lots of space inside, with a well-stocked kitchen, log burner, comfy beds, and a fabulous bath. The location is stunning, and the property has fantastic views over Kenfig pool, the dunes and sea. The house is set back from the road, not overlooked, and has a nice garden with picnic tables. It’s also wonderful to watch and hear all the birds – including the noisy and delightful nesting sparrows! The owners are friendly and helpful and have left lots of information for guests, as well as books, maps, leaflets and details of the history of the village and farm. (We also had milk in the fridge and some yummy Welsh cakes left for us on arrival, which was a nice extra – thank you!) There are amazing walks on the doorstep, and the golden sand beaches here are stunning. (There are lots more beaches and walks within a short drive too.) The Prince of Wales pub is just a minute’s walk away and the Sunday roast there is highly recommended! We also enjoyed a nice meal at the nearby Angel Inn. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing break, close to the sea and nature, Kenfig Farm ticks the boxes.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are delighted that you had such a pleasant stay. Property Owner

  • "In short, the cottage requires a very thorough deep clean."

It was filthy dirty and full of cobwebs, mould and rust. The toilet roll holder in the downstairs toilet is full of rust (as was the tin opener in the kitchen). There are bits of skirting missing, four spices completely out of date (one was 2021!). Someone called 'Emily' has written her name on the wall at the downstairs banister point (LH side), the bathroom medicine cabinet is shabby and is showing mirror degradation, the wardrobe in the single room was jammed open, the ceiling and wallpaper in that room are peeling off (the ceiling very considerably), the dressing table in that room is marked. There is a lot of damp showing in the cottage, the worst of which is in the double bedroom - the wall near the small window is disgusting with it and all the silicone is mouldy. The kitchen sink has mould all over the silicone, and so has the shower grout in the downstairs facilities. The shower curtain is also full of mould. There is also mould in the living room. There are cobwebs in the cooker between the glass in the bottom door. There is NO way any of us would stay again. The damp and the mould affected me within 24hrs and cleared by the end of Sunday after getting home. If the owners wish to see pictures to explain the above, I am happy to share them. I would not have posted in this vein if it had not affected the enjoyment of our holiday, but it did. I felt very responsible as it was I who had booked on behalf of us and our friends.

We are very sorry that our property didn't match your requirements. The only problem previously brought to our attention by guests is the ceiling paper in the single bedroom, which we are having redone next week - the earliest time possible. Any mould found around the upstairs window or elsewhere, possibly caused by a lack of ventilation when occupied, or other issues, will also be dealt with straight away. We should point out that Kenfig Farm is a 400-year-old farmhouse, not a modern property. It is thoroughly cleaned between each let, but cobwebs can appear overnight in such an old building, particularly between the beams. There are in fact no missing skirting boards; lime-washed internal walls do not require them as they are not considered appropriate in many period properties. Property Owner
