"Night mare drive way ,we have a large car and found it extremely difficult to reverse in, pruning the shrubs would help."
Unable to use the rear garden due to overgrown trees and bushes.
Hi Barry, Appreciate the feedback, we hope you enjoyed your time at the cottage. The drive way is quite narrow, we've given the shrubs a good cut back to make it as accessible as possible, you're welcome to use the parking space at the top of the driveway too. The shrubs in the rear garden have also had a good cut back, apologies you weren't able to make best use of it during your stay. Kind regards Luke Property Owner

"Kitchen not very well equipped for people cooking meals at the bungalow."
Not everyone can afford to eat out every dayThere was no hand towels for the kitchen or bathroom, we had to buy some.couldn’t access the side gate. Bed in main bedroom was very comfortable, but bunk beds mattresses were rather hard to sleep on. Shrubs etc out the back need pruning back. It’s a nice bungalow and close to the beach and a small shop. We enjoyed our stay.
Hi Betty, Thanks for your review, really glad you enjoyed your stay. I’ll drop you a message to understand what was missing from the kitchen, we have a selection of frying pans, saucepans and utensils but we’re always looking at ways to improve to make Tilly’s more useful for our guests. Apologies for the lack of towels there are normally plenty so I’ll find out from the cleaners if there was an issue during your stay. We’ve asked the gardener to trim back the shrubs in the back garden too. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Luke Property Owner

"This little bolt hole is amazing - lovely spot - so nice to relax here - just a few recommendations as a guest - the tv is not the best?"
maybe an upgrade is needed - channels are not working on BBC 1,2 & 3 it says its on wales? THATS ok in the daytime as you don't need a tv really - but in winter & the evenings its annoying! Also the gardens are in need of a huge pruning!! plants are beautiful but VERY huge now so could do with some maintenance - could also do with a rug down in the lounge Its a bit slippy for a dog? these are just small observations otherwise id score 5 for all 4 but ive scored 5 overall its lovely just a bit of tlc required i feel but definitely a good stay and property ;-)
Hi Mark, Thanks so much for the feedback it really helps us to ensure Tilly's is a great experience for our guests. We've had an aerial person visit and it seems to be a problem locally with signal, I think the big hill might block which is why it goes across the Bristol channel to try and pick up from Cardiff. I'll look at alternative options for improving the signal, we also have BBC iPlayer on the smart TV to stream live TV and catch up but appreciate this might not suit everyone. We went through an unlucky period with guests not cleaning up after their dogs and spoilt 3 rugs in a month so we decided to stop replacing them but appreciate that a rug does soften up the lounge so we'll look at other options there. We will have a chat with the gardener about trimming back the plants, thanks. Really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us overall. Property Owner

"The cottage is very small once you get used to everything it’s ok."
The back garden could do with a clear up when we finally got the summer house open I had to sweep it out and get rid of spider webs it just needs a tidy up. Unfortunately the chip shop isn’t open it’s being rebuilt so that just left the hotel which was excellent food very good. We really enjoyed the holiday very relaxing. Thank you for welcome gifts.

"The cottage was pleasant and comfortable with a beautiful garden."
However, the description as "beachfront" is misleading. The two photographs give completely the wrong impression. In order to access the beach, it is necessary to cross a fairly busy road, climb steps up a bank, cross a path and then encounter a large area of dunes from which it is impossible to see the sea. The seat in the picture is at least two or three hundred yards along the road, set at the top of steps. Again, it just faces large areas of shrubbery and dunes which completely obscure any views of the sea. In fact there are notices indicating this raised landscape in part of the sea defences. This detracted from the enjoyment of our stay at Tilly's cottage
Hi Carol, Apologies if the description was at all misleading, that is not our intention, we are approximately 50 metres from the beach and as you say there is a walk through dunes which are there to protect the village from flooding. Thanks again for visiting Tilly's Cottage. For any future guests reading the review, please note the property is just over 50m from the beach and you do have to cross beach road to get to the beach. We are in the process of highlighting our location on google maps but should you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us. Property Owner

"Shower room could do with up date, shower needs caulking replacing Gone black in places"
Hi Peter, Thanks for your review, we hope you enjoyed your stay in this beautiful part of the world. We've taken your comments on board and while a refit of the bathroom is something we will look to schedule in the mean time we've asked our cleaner to perform a deep clean of the bathroom. "The cottage was brilliant."
Best I've ever stayed in. Lovely location, completely accurate photos and description and holiday wasn't marred by awful weather as staying indoors was a treat_ warm, clean and cosy. Very helpful information re.everything. As there were only 2 of us, we mainly dined at local dog friendly hotel, especially as it was my son's birthday.

"We had a lovely time the only thing I would ask is that we could have been able to shut the gate it would have stopped the worry of the dog running out."
It didn’t however ruin our holiday
Hi Gillian, Thanks so much for the positive scores on the feedback, glad you had a lovely time. I'll send you a message directly as I would like to understand the issue with the gate, we have two gates at the property and both should be able to shut and contain a dog. Kind regards Luke Property Owner

"We loved our stay at Tilly's Cottage."
From start to finish it was wonderful. The owners were v flexible and responsive in relation to a last second booking. When we arrived, we were pleased to find that the property is right by the sand dunes, so you can picnic/ have your sundowners on the beach. Inside the property is small but perfectly formed with lots of finishing touches to make your stay easy, from a fully stocked kitchen, to netflix, DVDs, boardgames and books. The place was spotless and the back garden was beautifully landscaped. I would recommend this property to anyone with a young family- it is perfect for your needs.

"If you are looking for peace and quiet and only 75m from a wonderful, very clean sandy beach, which is totally dog friendly, then Tilly's Cottage is your place."
Sand Bay beach is over a mile long with views across the Bristol Channel to Cardiff. The property is well equipped and more homely than the photos suggest as the owners have added pictures and nick-knacks, We were very lucky with the weather which, of course, was a huge bonus but Weston-Super-Mare is only ten minutes away for attractions and supermarkets.

"A bottle of bubbly and lovely bread and milk left for us on arrival, much appreciated, thank you."
However floors were dirty, particularly around edges and skirting boards were filthy, very off putting. The bedroom smelled of the damp which is seen on the walls and window. I wiped down the inside of the window and made sure it stayed open for ventilation, to try and get rid of the damp smell. I recommend white towels not navy, as navy threads come off all over the body when drying. Shower is poor, a trickle of water, difficult to wash hair under and rinse properly, but the water was lovely and hot. Comforable bed. The kitchen surfaces seemed clean and good facilities within, excellent knives, frying pans etc. But no broom or dustpan and brush (I searched everywhere) which were needed. I hoovered up sand everyday. The cupboard door handle had already come off before we arrived. The inside of the lounge window was horribly dirty, due to lack of ventilation. Lounge floor was filthy and dusty under table. This floor had not been properly cleaned (if at all for months). The cottage needs a good deep clean and redecoration with investment in new windows with fanlights. The little pretty 'garden' has been well maintained and is clearly cared for, so I can't understand why the owners have let the inside of the cottage go so much and it is only the start of the season so I would expect a pristine accommodation. Setting is very quiet and we awoke to beautiful bird song every morning. The front garden is lovely, getting the sun all day and a bench at the front would be wonderful, there is plenty of room. A feature could be made of the space out front. The cottages position on the beach road is 'A' star. Dog walks on beach fantastic. Fish and chip shop neaby is excellent, fish, pies, breakfast baps, superb. Sainsburys close by in car 10 mins. Clevedon really nice. We enjoyed our week but would have preferred a cleaner property and I would not book this cottage again on that basis only. If it is spruced up sufficiently the cottage would be 4 star. .

"Tilly’s cottage was a lovely little cottage, a stone’s throw away from the sea."
A lovely welcome package (including my favourite Prosecco) which was really appreciated after a difficult journey. Lots of amazing places to walk, some of which were walkable directly from the cottage, where we walked to Weston Super Mare one way and Sand Point (National Trust) the other. Other walks which we drove to were Weston to Uphill and Brean Down (National Trust) which had the most amazing dog friendly cafe and very helpful rangers. Sand beach opposite cottage is dog friendly all year which our dog loved. All local people were extremely friendly and the owners were very friendly and available to contact if needed.

"We had a great time in this lovely, well-equipped cottage."
The location is perfect for the beach and is wonderful for long dog walks.

"Clean and convenient place."
-
"A clean tidy and very well equipped property and with off road parking and a private rear garden you do get a a bit of a home from home feel here."
The owner was also very helpful and supportive. We spent a very enjoyable and comfortable week at Tilly's cottage at the end of December through to January. It was warm and cosy with absolutely everything we needed. The welcome pack was very welcome indeed and the Christmas tree was a very nice touch. With the beach literally just across the road, Weston-Super-Mare just a short car or bus ride away and lots of other things to see and do in the area, the location in our opinion is perfect for whatever kind of holiday you are looking for.

"Lovely clean set up for our week stay here, ample enough parking on the property and enough room even for our German Shepherd."
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback David, we're really pleased you had such a lovely stay. Property Owner

"I’ve just had a lovely 5 nights stay here."
The cottage is situated very near the beach, perfect for walking the dog and seeing beautiful sunsets. Everything you could need is provided plus a lovely welcome pack. Sweet little garden at the rear but not quite dog friendly if you have a small dog, they could get under the side gates, I always take a freestanding 3 sided dog pen, so I was able to make it secure. I would highly recommend Tilly’s Cottage and would stay here again.
Thank you very much for the great feedback Deborah, we're really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We've taken onboard your comments regarding the gates and are planning to replace them soon. Look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Property Owner

"TILLY'S cottage was very comfortable ."
Kitchen equipment excellent including crockery and glass ware. Good oven and micro cooked a meal most evenings. Bed comfortable. Loved the garden just would have liked a bench on front for afternoon sun. We carried a chair thro from the back garden. Convenient bus to Weston passes cottage regularly used this rather than parking in Weston. Thanks for the prosecco, bread and coffee pods. Parked car on top in space rather than bringing down drive rather narrow.
Thank you very much for the feedback David, we're really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Tilly's Cottage. Property Owner

"This property is absolutely filthy Sykes holidays wasn’t interested said the contract is with the owner ."
When approached the owner he didn’t want to see the pictures of the filth and said believe you ????? DO NOT BOOK THROUGH SYKES AND DEFINITELY DO NOT BOOK THIS FILTHY COTTAGE .
Hi Gail, I’m really sorry that this was your experience. We spoke a number of times shortly after your arrival and tried our hardest to resolve, offering the cleaners to revisit on the evening of your arrival and the next day to rectify any issues but you refused. We also offered a meal at a local restaurant or compensation. We prioritise the cleanliness of our cottage as a comfortable place for families and their furry friends and have had numerous comments previously about how clean and well equipped the cottage, but on this occasion I can see these did not match your expectations. We have reviewed with the cleaning company and will continue to monitor the situation moving forward. Property Owner

"We had a wonderful week."
The property was lovely especially the garden and the location was perfect. The only (very minor) complaint was that the cleaner had left the hoover in a very dirty state, which we had to clean before we could use it, and there was no first aid kit, only a packet of paracetamol. The pillows in the master bedroom could probably do with replacing. None of this affected our enjoyment. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Hi Roger, Thanks very much for your feedback, we will get some new pillows for the master bedroom asap. There should be a first aid kit in the cupboard above the oven, apologies if that wasn't clear for you to be able to find, we'll be sure to mention it in the welcome book. We will also feedback to the cleaner regarding the hoover. I hope you had a lovely stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Luke Property Owner

"The cottage was a delightful place to stay, and being so close to the beach was an added bonus."
-
"Great location, well equipped comfortable cottage with caring hosts."
-
"Absolutely perfect for why we were in the area."
A calm quiet bolt hole to support the excitement/anxiety of house viewing and decision making around our relocation and downsizing. I kept thinking how perfect it would have been for our kids in the late 80's 90's. Just open the front door and out onto the beach. Freedom. As they are in their late 30's now bit of a late discovery. However it was something similar for our terriers and in a couple of years we know where to take the grandchildren for a holiday.
-
"Great little cottage, spotlessly clean, really well equipped and all the instructions for arrival, appliances etc very clear but best of all is the location, right opposite the beach."
Highly recommended.

"Tillys Cottage was the perfect beachside retreat."
All of us had the most wonderful time. Totally relaxed and what a position. We walked the coastal path and beachcombed. The weather was cold and crisp an bright. No rain. The facilities were excellent and so close to the little cafe and chip shop. In fact it was the perfect holiday, one of my best. I celebrated my 50th Birthday there, very memorable for lots of reasons. I hope to return again soon. I’m going to tell everyone about Tillys Cottage. Xx

"A lovely beach front bungalow that was ideally situated for our stay."
Weston wood was also just a 5-10 minute walk away. There aren't many places that offer as easy access to such a combination. The bungalow was bright and clean and owners had kindly provided some food essentials and treats so there was no need to immediately pop out to the local shops.
-
"What a lovely little cottage, very modern and comfortable."
Will definitely return soon! Loved the location, right on the beach, no need to use the car and find somewhere to park, literally across the road, our dog loved it. Pretty place, with the local chips shop and pub on your doorstep. The cottage was lovely to chill out in, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we would loved to have stayed another week!

"Tilly's Cottage was the perfect place for an autumn break."
As soon as we walked through the door we could tell that a lot of love and care has gone into the cottage. A lovely welcome pack was very gratefully received and the owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make sure everything you might need for a comfortable stay is to hand. The cottage was spotlessly clean with lots of spare towels/linen if needed and the friendly communication from the owners made us feel that - had we needed to ask for anything (which we didn't) - nothing would be too much trouble. The time of year meant we didn't take advantage of the small outside area and summer house but I imagine they would provide a very relaxing spot during the warmer months. In very close proximity to the spotlessly clean and unspoilt beach (lovely for beach walks), the cottage was also in walking distance of several lovely pubs/restaurants. We would definitely return if in the area again.

"We had a great time at the cottage."
It is small but perfect for a couple or small family. Facilities are modern and clean and everything one would need for a comfortable stay. Just across the quiet Beach Road and you are on the dunes by the beach. Our little cocker spaniel loved the beach and the sea. I was able to get the car off the road on to the drive which has a gate across the top. The front and back gardens were both secure for small children and dogs. A 2 minute walk to a chippy and a 10 minute walk to a small local shop. A 3 minute walk to a hotel restaurant and a 15 minute walk up the hill to the New Castle pub although there is no pavement and it can be dark. Loved it!
