  • "A really lovely, well equipped property just a couple of minutes walk from everything Lynmouth has to offer."

Very clean and comfortable and the owners have gone above and beyond with maps, local information, books, magazines, dvds and a lovely welcome gift of wine and dog treats - all much appreciated. Fiona and Kevin, the owners, are very helpful and quick to reply if you need them. The path down to the property is very steep though which may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. We would definitely go back again!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are always delighted when guests enjoy staying at Lynmouth View as much as we do. The whole coastal area certainly lends itself to staying fit - Norfolk it isn’t!! We would very much hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house and really stocked well with itinerary etc."

Everything was thought off in a well equipped kitchen. Only slight issue was trying to find the property as we walked right by the sign lol

Thank you for your lovely written review. The housekeepers van had broken down hence they were a bit late and blocking the sign when you were finding the property the first time. We’re a little disappointed with your scores compared with your written review? We’ve reached out to try and find out how you felt we could improve, but as you haven’t responded it makes it very difficult to know. We still very much hope you enjoyed your stay and would welcome your return in the future. Property Owner

  • "Our 3rd stay at this property."

Great location, and everything you need for a weeks stay. However, this time we noticed the twin bedroom has developed a damp problem, rising up from the derelict building below. This can clearly be seen from inside and from the decking area. Bedding was musty by day 2, and clothing in the wardrobe smelt musty. My daughter had to move rooms. I didn’t want to write a negative review, as this issue isn’t the owners fault and must be tricky to solve. I contact Sykes twice before writing this, and haven’t had a reply. I’d be wary of booking again until the issue is addressed as it will get worse year on year. If this issue was resolved it would be full marks across the board.

We were sorry to read that you had an issue during your stay. The fact that you have stayed previously means we appreciate that you felt something was different this time. You did stay during a very hot week. We are very lucky to be close to the sea and the stone wall below the decking opposite the window can get damp, and we wonder if that’s what you could smell as it was drying out, but that shouldn’t have ingressed into the property. The twin bedroom has no evidence of damp internally – we stayed just after you (we stay there ourselves regularly) and had no issue, nor did the guests directly before you. The walls are completely dry and the wardrobe is free standing on an internal wall, so would not attract damp inside, so we are a little puzzled on your experience. The building below is not derelict – it is used for stock storage by the local shop and is dry inside. We do take all guest comments seriously and will monitor the situation closely as will our housekeeper. We always encourage guests to initially contact our housekeeper, and/or ourselves with any issues during your stay (contact details provided) as there is little we can do to rectify things after you leave. We very much hope you still enjoyed your stay at Lynmouth View and would welcome you staying with us again. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for allowing us to stay at your wonderful house."

To wake up listening to the sea and to look out across the harbour each day was joyous. It was everything we could have wished for, great location, comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms, the glorious balcony where we ate most mornings and evenings and a well appointed kitchen. Couldn’t fault it, have already recommended to people.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time at Lynmouth View as much as we do and hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property which has been looked after and was ideal for us to stop in."

Woulndn't hesitate other to stop here. Only suggestion I would make is for a blind / curtain in front of the entrance and window as this is a route from the main bathroom.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and for your suggestion which we always appreciate hearing. We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again at Lynmouth View. Property Owner

  • "Generally we really liked the property and touches such as a bottle of wine and blankets for the cooler evenings were very thoughtful."

the lack of washing machine would stop us having a longer break and for the shorter people (me) a kickstep or similar would be useful in the kitchen as the cupboards are high.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Comments are always appreciated. We try to keep cost down for guests: washing machines are expensive to run and from past experience tend to have issues fairly frequently which can take time to resolve. The property is listed with no washing machine in the details and there is a full launderette/laundry service in Lynton. There are two fold out steps in the property (small and tall). One is just behind the kitchen door and the tall one is in the wardrobe in the single (trundle) bedroom. We do very much hope you enjoyed your time at Lynmouth View. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous stay."

Perfect location. Stones throw away from Lynmouth and Lynton. Has everything you could want in terms of facilities. Loved sitting out in terrace even in the rain as it has an undercover part. Pet friendly.

Quaint Lynmouth sits between the river, shore and hills and offers small restaurants, tea rooms and inns. There are plenty of things to see and do, including a unique water-powered cliff railway with outstanding views, which links Lynmouth with neighbouring Lynton, the pretty harbour town where the fisherman’s cottages creep down towards the quay, and the distinctive Rhenish Tower sits proudly on the harbour wall. The National Trust own nearby Arlington Court and Watersmeet, a stunning riverside walk, and within the National Park boundary, the hills of Exmoor drop down to the sea where they shadow the Exmoor Heritage Coast.
