  • "A lovely apartment - very spacious, well decorated throughout and right in the middle of town."

It would have been good to have some literature about dustbins and recycling as we were keen to help with the maintenance of this. Otherwise we had a great stay and would certainly return. The sunsets at Porthcawl are magic!

Hello. I have just seen your lovely review - apologies for not responding sooner. Thank you for your feedback I am working on an information file! The sunsets at Porthcawl are just amazing I agree!! Jessica Property Owner

  • "I loved staying here it was close enough to children's entertainment, shops and seafront everything you needed for a comfortable stay was there ."

It was very large and the children also enjoyed the accommodation.I would like to make a suggestion only because I am a very keen in to recycling and is that a laminate on the wall about recycling bin and normal bin day as I missed them both .Last notes is about parking which we found very easy and convenient its possible to park very close to unpack reasonable charges, also liked the key arrangements which was super easy both arrival and departure. Would definitely recommend to my family and friends all in all great stay x

  • "The apartment was near perfect for our stay in every way."

It was very comfortable, clean and spacious in an ideal location within walking distance to the town (1 min), Aldi (5 mins) and beach (5 mins). The main bedroom was big enough for our ‘next to me’ to easily fit next to the bed with thick dark curtains. The shower was excellent and the property had washing and drying machine available. We did a lot of cooking and would have liked some non stick pans but it’s no big deal. We did find there was no cupboard space at all for shopping but at least the fridge freezer was a good size. Also there are steep metal stairs to gain access to the property so carrying baby and push chair up was difficult but this was well documented on the listing so knew about it before hand. There is a public car park behind the property that charges between 8-12 then 3-6pm. I was spending about £5.50 a day on parking as I didn’t want to park on the main road at the front - mainly because there wasn’t a designated spot and no access from the front of the property. We would definitely come back here again!!

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for such great feedback. So pleased you enjoyed the flat and that the location worked so well for you and family! One of the things we like most about it is how easy it is get to everything so it is nice to hear that being appreciated. Thanks again! Jessica Property Owner

  • "The apartment was very stylish, comfortable, very well located in centre of town close to shops, restaurants and the see front; could not have wished for better location."

The apartment was well kitted out, and very clean on arrival, which is always great to find. The place as exactly as I saw on photos at the time of booking. so all in all very pleasant stay. Couple small comments - it would be great if the oven was cleaned out and it had an extra baking tray. The property description should note (available at time of booking) that there is a set of narrow steps to get in - this could not be welcomed by everyone. Last - it would be good to get a little bit more information with the carparking arrangements, e.g. access through paid car park at the time when access to keys is shared - just as a curtesy thing.

Dear guest, first of all I'm so pleased you enjoyed the stay. We love Porthcawl - my partner comes from there and has family there so it is lovely to hear you had a good time. Thank you for your very helpful comments. I will ask the cleaners to ensure the oven is properly cleaned - my apologies for that - and will get some more baking trays. I will also ask Sykes to update their description so that the access is more clearly described as you suggest. Many thanks again! Jessica Property Owner

  • "The access via exterior staircase is challenging."

The instructions to the keysafe is confusing - saying that the front door is where it is, yet the "front door" is not on the front of the building! We only stayed one night but were pleased with the standards within the let.

Dear Mr West, Thank you very much for leaving feedback regarding your stay. In light of your comments, I have requested that more emphasis be given to the location of the entrance door and the nature of the metal steps to the front door. These were noted as being unsuitable for persons with any mobility issues but I have asked that a photo of the steps and back be provided for prospective guests. Also, I was particularly concerned by the 75% score for cleanliness and having visited the property to review it for myself I have changed the cleaning company I was using for a more local but professional firm which comes very highly recommended. Once again, thank you for taking the time to bring these issues to my attention and I do hope that if you decide to re-book in the future you will find everything to your satisfaction! • "We really enjoyed our stay here over the New Year period and have already booked to stay again!"

We are familiar with the area having lived here many years ago and still have family that we visit nearby so knew that Porthcawl is a great location to stay. The apartment is extremely spacious, clean and toasty warm, it's also well equipped with lovely fixtures and furnishings which made our stay during the awful weather we had over New Year very comfortable and cosy. Our adult sons joined us for a few days and there was plenty of room to accommodate 4 adults without getting in each others way. Plenty of places to eat out or grab a takeaway in the town and when the weather allows there are fantastic coastal walks. We did find it a bit tricky to locate the rear entrance at first as it was dark when we arrived, for future guests the entrance and car parking is situated in John Street car park (signposted) at the bottom of the road and can be entered off Mary Street. Parking was readily available throughout our stay and we were able to park right outside the back gate entrance. Its a quick cut through on foot to the main street in the town for shopping and food supplies with a large Co-op just around the corner and an Aldi a 10 minute walk. Our young adult sons had the novelty of ordering coffee and breakfast rolls on the Greggs app and nipping down to collect in minutes :-D we live rurally so this was novelty to them! Its also worth noting that the walk along the front to Rest Bay and enjoying refreshments at the Cafe Bar with panoramic views across the bay is a must. Thankyou for providing us with super accomodation.

Dear Guest (I am not supposed to use your surname!), Thank you so much for taking the time to provide me with your feedback for such a lovely review. I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay so much and liked the flat - it sounds as if you had a really enjoyable time which is great to hear. Many thanks, Jessica Property Owner
