  • "Property is lovely, however, it would benefit from handrails in the bathroom."

In my experience, single story accommodation usually has these features to make them accessible for all. Recommendations for local places to eat would also be very useful as we had 2 very poor meals locally. Overall our stay was lovely and my 90 year old Mum loved sitting out on the terrace watching the fishermen.

Maybe more information on local places to eat could have been useful.

  • "The bedding definitely needs to be renewed."

Needs new pillows, they are so flat. Needs new towels, they're so old. Not sure how often the mattress covers are washed! Looked very grubby on stripping our beds, on all of the beds!

  • "Lovely lodge in a really nice quiet location next to a lake."

The place felt new and had high quality fittings and appliances. Had everything we needed. Felt luxurious. Only four lodges altogether. A verandah and a picnic table by the water for each. Lovely to walk round the lake and watch the birds.

  • "Lovely little holiday lodge - we stayed for a long weekend as we were down for a wedding."

When we arrived the lodge was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities to make our stay comfortable. Storm Dennis managed to knock out the satellite connection on our first night, this wasn’t able to be fixed till the Monday, but we weren’t too bothered as we were out for a wedding and didn’t intend to be watching too much tv anyway, just would have been useful to keep our 1year old occupied when we were getting ready. But nothing you can do when Mother Nature flexes her muscles sometimes. Beautiful location on the lake, the only thing that could have been better was the weather!

You adjust to the birds and the planes by the end of the week other than that the cabin is well furnished and is situated within easy reach of entertainment and plenty of shopping

  • "The Harvester lodge holiday was great."

Nice accommodation well located and peaceful surroundings . The geese were fun but would have been concerned if we had children under 5years. Although accommodation met our expectations the property was showing signs of tiredness. Decking was in need of a clean and restrain, lock on bathroom door missing, shower heads needed a descale and the bathroom sink would not hold water due to a perished washer. All minor things but the difference between ‘good and ‘outstanding’ is always the little things.

  • "The Lodge was exactly as described and photographed."

Although we failed to get the welcome email from the owners, a phone call from me sorted out the easy key collection. The only criticism about the cleanliness was the dishwasher still had dirty dishes etc in it and the cutlery drawer tray needed a wash out, so the cutlery was put through the dishwasher. A very minor blip. The master bedroom was a good size and the en-suite just right, as was the family bathroom. We found the other 2 bed rooms quite small and so were the single beds, fine for children but a tight squeeze for adults and we were 4 adults and one child. Every thing worked that we used and it was quiet and peaceful. A lovely view of the lake from the living area which even the unfortunate wet weather did not spoil. We would definitely recommend this Lodge to other families.

Just fifteen minutes’ drive from Weston-super-Mare, these superb lodges are an ideal base for exploring Somerset and the lovely beaches in this area. Outside, the delightful lodges have a decked veranda, where you may wish to relax with a refreshing drink, or venture down to the edge of the lake and enjoy a spot of carp fishing. Those guests not taking advantage of the fishing may like to stroll along the country lanes leading from the farm, where homemade organic apple juice and preserves are also made, to visit Puxton Park Adventure Park, which has been awarded the Quality Rose Marque or Thatchers Cider farm which boasts a luxurious restaurant and cider shop. Just over six miles away is the traditional seaside town of Weston-super-Mare which has something for everyone. Miles of sandy beaches, the completely rebuilt Grand Pier and plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes, together with the Weston Wheel (March- September), Pirate Adventureland and crazy golf; who could ask for more from a truly memorable holiday?
