  • "We had a great stay at The Cider Shed."

With large patio doors and an expansive view, it gave the place a really spacious feel. Everything was well looked after and we felt very comfortable, a real home away from home. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and really seemed to care about our time there. It's a great base for exploring the Mendip area, just down the road from Cheddar Gorge, and not too far from Glastonbury, Wells and the coast. We'd have no hesitation in returning. Thank you Heather and Darren!

  • "We've had a wonderful stay."

The hosts were very helpful and advised on local walks, places to visit and events to attend. The house itself had everything one would need for a comfortable stay. It was immaculate and spacious with lovely views across fields. The Star Inn was within walking distance, and the coast, Wookey Hole, City of Wells, Cheddar Gorge were all within a 25 minute drive. As such this place was perfectly placed. The perfect country getaway for us city folk. We'd love to come back.

  • "Wonderful property in a perfect location with lovely views and welcoming hosts."

We couldn't have asked for more, everything provided within the property, and more. Welcome pack including a bottle of delicious cider along with butter, cheese, milk, bread and biscuits. Well situated for visiting surrounding areas, including Cheddar, Wells, Weston super Mare, Glastonbury etc. We will definitely return as already missing eating breakfast on the balcony!

The flat was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were very lucky to have great weather and so made good use of the peaceful sunny balcony.

  • "Fabulous week at The Cider Shed."

The owners live in the flat downstairs and couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. Flat was clean, spacious, well quipped and the goodies left for arrival were delicious (we even bought some of the cider to bring home!) Loads to do in the area, we would love to come back and would stay here again.

  • "Just what we needed at this present time to deal with our loss."

We can't fault The Cider Shed. An absolute credit to the owners. Very clean, quiet, warm and comfortable property (It's a TARDIS),with the added extras of flowers, bread, milk, butter, cheese, eggs and their yummy Wilcox Cider. We would love to know where we can purchase the cider? A perfect base to explore the surrounding area and beyond. The Star is just a 10 minute walk and well worth a visit, but sadly they are not open on Monday & Tuesday. You will not go wrong in choosing the Cider shed. Again, many thanks to the owners

Thankyou so much for your review it was lovely to meet you both and we are so pleased. You enjoyed your stay hopefully see you again one day xx Property Owner

  • "A perfect home from home with perfect hosts."

Heather and Darren were very friendly and helpful, suggesting food at The Star, which was excellent, and also suggesting wearing hi-viz jackets for the short walk. There are lots of walks from the property and also many places to visit, including Tyntesfield (NT) and Clevedon. The welcome pack of food was lovely and the cider was first class. This may have been our first visit but it definitely won’t be our last.

  • "What a fantastic experience!"

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and we have nothing but praise for Heather and Darren and their wonderful property. The sense of space and light drew us in, and together with the goodies in the fridge relaxed us immediately. The Cider Shed was immaculately clean, with furnishings of a high standard and a "handbook" which gave us an insight into the history of the property and the family's story too - best we have seen. Finally, the owners' recommendations for local businesses were exactly what we were looking for and we left wanting to return.

They were very friendly, helpful and welcoming! Their place is charming, relaxing, clean, comfortable and it has everything you would need for your holiday. The view from the cottage is magnificent. They were always so helpful and would go out of their way to help us with anything we needed. We enjoyed being able to buy fresh eggs and cider from their farm. Their farm is a wonderful place to see, you can tell they gave a lot of care and attention to it. They are just wonderful people, I can see why they are so popular in the local village. We'll swing by to say hello for sure if we are in the area again. Thank you again for everything!

  • "I have chosen the Cider Shed because of its location and the photos on Sykes website were very attractive."

I needed some quality, quiet family time for 2 weeks (I had my teenage son visiting us from abroad on school holidays), and this seemed to be the perfect place to be! The flat is on the top floor of a former Cider Shed and the access to it is through some rather challenging external stairs. the place looked incredibly clean and had a very pleasant, perfumed smell all around. Lots of natural light came through which was great. The kitchen was very well equipped and modern. The lounge had a very charming balcony facing the sun, where you can enjoy an nice cuppa or a drink at the end of the day. The bedrooms were very comfortable and of good size, with nice quality furniture. The beds were very comfortable and had new, clean pillows. Bathroom was spacious, with both bathtub and separate shower unit. Ample and safe parking on the premises. In all, it has been the best two weeks we have had with the kids for a long time. We will definitely be back!

  • "This is a wonderful apartment: in our view should be 5 ticks!"

The apartment is spotless, spacious and very well-appointed. Appreciated the welcoming groceries and wine! Wonderful to have the great big windows in the lounge looking out over the fields, looking at the sheep and chickens, and so quiet at night. The location could not be better for exploring Somerset: we went to Bath, Wells, Bristol, Clevedon (Grade 1 pier), Portishead (great marina), Cheddar Gorge, as well as lovely country walks around the Bladon and Chew valley lakes and Cheddar reservoir. Star Inn nearby is nice, The Swan at Rowberrow lovely country pub, great Sunday lunch. The Cider Shed owners are so hospitable and helpful, running up and down the stairs for us printing documents as we were in the middle of exchanging on a house! We very much hope to return before too long!
