  • "This is a quality property in a fantastic location."

We have been here three times now and would definitely come again. It’s a dream let as it’s clean, really comfy and everything is included, even down to coffee pods so you don’t need to decamp your own kitchen into the car, like with so many properties. It is an old property so has a few foibles but these are made clear in the listing and not a problem if you are aware.

Hello Jill Thank you for your kind review, and so pleased that your third visit is as good as your first! Come back soon Kind regards Debs Property Owner

However, we absolutely loved Pier View. The location is excellent (not for mobility challenged), the accommodation is second to none, immaculate, well equipped and comfortable.

Thank you for taking the trouble to post your very kind review. We were so sorry that you needed to leave early but you must return (especially now the weather has improved) and continue your stay. We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "Booked this holiday last minute but the owner failed to inform us there was a problem with the toilet prior to booking and there was an unpleasant smell."

..the owner said the plumber was bringing the part but it failed to turn up so came home early very disappointed

I am so sorry that Pier View failed to meet the high standards that it has previously achieved. I sent an email prior to your arrival, which records that we live adjacent to the apartment and gives my number for any problems (this information is also in the welcome folder). As you stated this was a last minute booking, and I sent a second email to notify you about the plumber who was booked to come in on Monday, when we had originally thought the property was going to be empty for the week; However the plumber wasn’t coming regarding a ‘smell’, just to replace a part, and when we put the welcome pack in the apartment on Saturday morning there was no smell at all. Unfortunately you did not reply to either of the emails I sent. Had you contacted me, by email, phone or in person the problem would have been resolved and you could have continued your stay. If you wish to contact me to discuss this further, and so I can return the jackets you left behind, please don’t hesitate to do so. Property Owner

Thank you for your kind review. We do take pride in the cleanliness of the apartment and strive for 100% at all times. We have stayed in many holiday lets ourselves and are therefore very aware of the areas that can easily be missed or equipment that is needed. It was spotlessly clean and everything we needed for the stay was there it was like home from home with the added beauty of the views to sea and the sunsets. We hosted relatives from Australia at the property as our own was undergoing an extension to the kitchen. Our relatives were so impressed with the stay at the property.

We are so pleased that your relatives enjoyed their stay at Pier View. I think they are the first people to stay from Australia. We know we are prejudiced but we do think the view we enjoy is very special, however it’s always nice to hear that our guests enjoy it too! Kind regards Debs and Chris Property Owner

  • "A comfortable apartment with wonderful views down the Bristol Channel and the Welsh coast in the distance."

The kitchen/diner/living room is light and airy and has plenty of room and seating. The kitchen is well equipped. The stairs to the upper bedroom are quite steep so could be a problem for people with impaired mobility. The parking is up a steepish drive , but there is a reasonable sized space - our vehicle is larger than average and we had no problem. There is room for 2 cars. The nearest bit of seafront by the old pier is about a 5 minute walk downhill. The nearest cafe/diner (Stones cafe was excellent and cheap, but closes at 4pm) about an 8 to 10 minute walk. A walk to the main pier would be around 15 minutes and the main shops about 20 minutes. We found that the Melrose open air car park opposite the Weston Arch was very convenient. It was next door to several good eating places and next to the beach and 5 minutes from the main pier. Would we book again? Yes. It would definitely be top of our list when we are next in Weston-Super-Mare

Thank you for your kind review, we are delighted that you liked the apartment and the many amenities that WsM has to offer. Sorry you found the staircase to the 2nd bedroom too steep. We do mention on Sykes listing that the apartment is not suitable for people with limited mobility, but fortunately this didn’t impact on your stay. We look forward to seeing you next time. The Lounge dining and kitchen areas are excellent, and the view over the Bristol Channel was just as we expected. Birnbeck Pier in its delapidated state was also of interest.

Thank you for your kind review. Also for your comments on our feedback sheet regarding the WiFi. You are the first guests to have stayed since the WiFi was replaced, therefore we were delighted to see that it’s now working properly! Refurbishing is now starting on Birnbeck Pier, it will take a long time but we are looking forward to seeing the transformation and it being open to the public once again. Property Owner

  • "The stairs to the main en suit bedroom are wooden, very steep, narrow and spiral at the top."

My disabled husband was unable to access the room and we had to use the smaller room without an en suit, which as an amputee was difficult in the night. We did, obviously wrongly, presume the stairs pictured from the entrance floor to the lounge was the staircase to the upper bedroom. Had we seen a photo or description of the bedroom staircase we would not have booked this property.

Thank you for the lovely message you left in the visitor book. Regarding the problems you mentioned above, we are arranging for the photographer to take some new photographs of Pier View and we will request one of the stairs to the main bedroom. We will also change the wording in Sykes details and mention the bedroom staircase specifically. We have only been running the holiday let for eighteen months and we appreciate all feedback, positive or negative. We want everyone who stays at Pier View to have the best holiday possible. We can only apologize for the problems you encountered. Property Owner

A 10min walk into town along the coastal path was so picturesque and refreshing. Cream tea on arrival was the icing on the cake. So much to see and do, from walks along the beach, up to Uphill Nature Reserve to see the views from the tower. Very clean and matches the photos and description online, with parking and a lovely outside seating area which has lighting for the evening. The apartment looks out onto Birnbeck Pier, which is beautiful despite being damaged and closed, being slightly out of the town it was nice and quiet. It took us 15-20 minutes to walk into town, via the beach path is lovely, though the apartment is ‘up’ so needs some effort up and down. Lots of bars and restaurants on the sea front. In respect of the apartment, there are steps, so steps up to the house and then stairs to the living / kitchen area as well as tight stairs up to the double bedroom. This could be an issue for someone with limited mobility. The owners had provided some key supplies too, tea, coffee, milk, butter as well as some scones, jam and cream. A lovely touch. A lovely apartment in a lovely town; we would certainly recommend.

The binoculars were a nice touch, you can see the ruins at the end of Brean Downs on a clear day. Beds were really comfy too. The sofas in the living room area are a bit old and weren’t very comfortable, we thought it would be a good idea to get bigger sofas so when sitting down you can see the sea view from them.
