  • "Lovely lodge, as described."

Very clean and well stocked kitchen for self catering. The use of the swimming pool and hot tub was ideal as unfortunately we had a wet week. Very easy to visit places as good location. A couple of things to note, heating was a bit fiddly and one of the bedrooms in particular was quite hot as I think it was above the boiler. We had two dogs and the garden was a real bonus but please be aware not fully enclosed and there are farm animals on the pathway walks. All in all though a lovely and relaxing stay we would certainly visit again.

  • "Leroy really made it for us."

He is such an asset to the owners! Very thoughtful, helpful and chilled! Lovely spacious well equipped clean house with great views. Our only negative was that the hot tub wasn't as powerful as we usually experience. Great location too. Not far from the coast and other attractions. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "The listing made it clear that guests had access to services in the nearby hotel."

However, having walked to the hotel, we were told on arrival that there was no contract in place between Swandown and the hotel and there hadn’t been for some time. It was clearly not the first time that the hotel had told guests that this was the case, so we are very disappointed that the listing had not been corrected as this was part of our reason for deciding on choosing Swandown. Also the path to the nearby pub was only illuminated in places (lights exist but are not all working). Not sure who owns the path to the pub but if it’s one down then it would be good to get the path lights repaired. Other than that, we had a lovely weekend and would recommend swan Down

Hi Michael, Thank you for leaving us a review, I have been investigating the issue with the access to the leisure club and you definitely should not have been told this as Swandown owners pay for leisure memberships, we can only apologise that you experience this during your stay. The lights on the footpath have now been fixed so are in full working order. We are glad that these things didn't spoil your stay too much and hope to welcome you back to Swandown in the future. Kind regards The Swandown Team Property Owner

  • "Accommodation was amazing and position was great for a nice relaxing peaceful break away."

Onsite pool where you book a slot for your accommodation was a bonus but unfortunately unable to use due to our grandson breaking his arm just before trip. Staff onsite very helpful and friendly. Will definitely consider staying again.

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay."

The property was ideal for a group of three couples to celebrate a special birthday together. We walked from the property and enjoyed the use of the hotel pool and steam rooms nearby. The hot tub was great for relaxing in and was well looked after by the site manager. My one very small niggle was that having read how well equipped the kitchen was on another review , I had wrongly assumed basics such as salt and pepper would be in the property. Luckily all easily sourced in nearby shops or just pack everything you might need if you are cooking!

Would benefit from the addition of a couple of sun-loungers.

  • "Due to the warm weather the upstairs rooms were very warm and uncomfortable it would have been nice if there had been some form of fans in the room to increase airflow."

Some form of rubber matting in the downstairs shower room as the floor when wet was a dangerous slip hazard. But the rest of the Lodge was very comfortable and well equipped.

Thank you for your time regarding your feed back. We have spoken to the owner who has confirmed that there are fans available for guests use if needed. There are bath mats available to ensure guests safety. Despite the issues raised we are very glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Property was equipped to a high standard, with plenty of room for four adults and two children, including parking for two cars."

The location was very peaceful. We had a very enjoyable one week stay. Two potential improvements to make the lodge even better would be: television in ground floor bedroom; a couple of sunbeds on the patio.

Leroy was so helpful as well and it was as good as our previous visit. So good we will be booking for next year.

  • "The lodge was fab and the facilities were excellent."

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The only thing we would recommend is that if this is a family lodge then a large rug in the lounge area would be better for babies/toddlers to play on and a black out blind in the twin bedroom as the curtains let too much light in.

  • "This was our second stay at Swandown and this is our first review."

Our family of 4 (we have twin boys aged 11) love coming here, the standard of the lodges are fantastic (we have stayed at lodges 9 and 14) everything you need is at hand in the kitchen, the living areas are very comortable and have plenty of space and the outdoor areas are lovely too. The staff are very welcoming, great to deal with and friendly. The supermarkets are a 10 minute drive, the local pub a 5 minute walk (and has fantastic views from the garden) and the local golf club (all welcome) is a 5 minute drive, both are great for eating out. The likes of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Burnham, Weymouth & Teignmouth are reachable in an hour and Minehead, Torquay and Bournemouth around 90 mins so perfectly located for day trips out. This is one of our favourites and we will definately be returning.
