"Lovely barn conversion, well equipped with a home from home requirements , would have given it 5 stars , but minor points let it down —— bedding on ground floor king size bedroom , a little tired and quilt very thin and no where to hang your clothes ( could do with the rail similar to twin bedroom ) The only bath mat was in the main bedroom en-suite, it would be advisable to have one in each of the two remaining bathrooms, I had to go and purchase one for the 2nd en-suite."
The information book really does need updating. We really did enjoy the peaceful setting and a most enjoyable stay. The nine steps to the front door could do with a handrail for safety of guests who are a little unsure under foot. Continued success.
Hello Sorry to hear you were not entirely satisfied. Let me just go through the points with you. You mentioned tired bedding. I had a look at all the bedding (which is not that old) when I was there in September. I got rid of one set that was a little faded, but was not aware of any others that required updating. The quilts are not thick, but there are spare blankets. There are also hangers on the back of the door for hanging some items. It is a little difficult to put a hanging rail in that bedroom without it being in the way. I have already put a note in the information file explaining that I will be updating the contents when I am next there, which should be in November, as I do not have access to a printer at the barn. Bath mats should be put out in each bathroom/shower room. This has been an issue before and I shall speak to my housekeeper. The problem is that a few different people do the cleaning and that, perhaps, communications are not passed on as they should be. Apologies for this. As for the handrails, , I am looking into what would work best there and may well implement something soon. I am sorry that you did not find the barn to be entirely satisfactory. Kind Regards Fiona Property Owner

"Tithe Barn is beautiful - very tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean."
Quiet and remote up a very long track but that suited us perfectly. The barn is very cosy, despite its size, even with there only being 2 people (+ a very large Deerhound!) in the property (we booked a larger place in case any children/grandchildren could join for a few days but in the event they didn’t have enough holiday left!) We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend. It’s quite a way from coastal areas such as Combe Martin, Ilfracombe etc, but we took off for the day and it was no problem!
Thank you for your fabulous review, Gill, and great chatting to you earlier. All the best, Fiona Property Owner

"My family had a lovely stay at Tithe Barn."
The property is spacious, light and airy. The beds were comfortable although the bedding could do with updating. The master bedroom had no bath mat so had to step out onto towel. Overall we had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend to family and friends.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are staying there ourselves in September, so I will check on any bedding that is not up to standard and get rid of it. The last time we were there, the bedding seemed to be fine. As for bath mat, that is an oversight, as the housekeepers always put these in every shower/bathroom , so apologies that they omitted to on this occasion. Overall though, I am glad you had a good time there. All the best. Fiona Property Owner

"Beautiful house in a lovely quiet area."
Has everything you need in a holiday home. Dog friendly too. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone. The only issue we had was, which couple gets the small room and who gets the enormous upstairs room, with ensuit and lovely views.
Hi Thanks for your great feedback. I agree that the master bedroom is by far the best one, so that can possibly cause arguments amongst couples! I hope, in your case, it was resolved without too much dispute. I would go on the premise that whoever organised the trip gets the master suite, if that helps, or names pulled out of a hat, perhaps. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay and would recommend my property. We love it there and that is all we can hope for all our guests. Many thanks again. Fiona Property Owner

"A fabulous property that suited the needs of all the family."
We chose The Tithe Barn for it's amenities, bedroom layout as we had someone with walking difficulties and it's peaceful location as wanted somewhere to chill out after active days out and this this did not disappoint. The owner has provided everything that we would need to make our holiday like being at home and Thank you for the bottle of prosecco and carrot cake which went down very well
Thank you so much for a lovely review. I am very happy that you had a great time there and found everything you needed to make your holiday a success. It is reviews like yours that make the whole business worthwhile, so thank you again. Kind Regards Fiona Property Owner

"Really lovely, clean property, as described."
Great shared areas (kitchen & lounge), garden is great too. Location means that a fair bit of driving is needed for days out but we knew that when booking. Enjoyed coming back to a warm cosy haven after rainy days out! Thank you for our lovely stay!
Thank you for you great feedback. I hope that you may return someday. All the best. Fiona Property Owner

"Amazing break with lovely little touches on arrival"

"Well presented, well equipped, spacious family property."
Would benefit from an external washing line, but overall very comfortable.
Hi Steve Thank you for your feedback. We did have an external washing line, but as it was not concreted into the ground properly, it became loose and was falling over, so as I thought we were nearing the end of the summer, I took it down and put it in the garage for the time being. I will be getting it fixed before next summer. Otherwise, there is an internal clothes line. Regards Fiona Property Owner

"A beautiful barn conversion."
Spacious but with a cosy feel. Very well equipped. Peaceful location with the lovely market town of South Molton less than a 15 minute drive away.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and also the great comments you left in the visitors' book. We've just returned back from there ourselves and I would like to thank you also for leaving the barn so clean and tidy. It was a relief not to have to clean up as soon as we got there, and always appreciated when guests are so thoughtful. Maybe we can welcome you again sometime in the future. Regards Fiona Property Owner

"Very comfortable, spacious and well appointed property, lovely garden too."
Perfect for large family groups. Very quiet and peaceful location, but car needed for local facilities - shops etc. Ideal base for visiting North Devon. Would benefit from handrails on internal ground floor steps (2) and external steps to propery to improve accessibility for the less mobile.
Thank you for your feedback, all feedback is valuable to know how we are performing as a holiday let, and any suggestion such as yours is given serious consideration. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday. Kind Regards Fiona Property Owner

"What a wonderful property the Tithe Barn is, it’s a home away from home, is well kitted out and is is by far the cleanest property that we have stayed in, serious kudos to the housekeeper, they clearly take pride in their work!"
!! We enjoyed all weathers and it kept us safe, dry and warm throughout. Truly we did not want to leave!!
Hi Hannah Thank you for your great feedback, and I am glad that you managed to have a good holiday. I hope to welcome you back there sometime in the future. I will also pass your comments onto my housekeeper. I know that she takes great pride in her work, so thank you for letting me know how clean the property was. All the best. Fiona Property Owner

"Lovely kitchen - but crockery very dirty had to wash in dishwasher first and lounge could be more cosy"
I am sorry to hear about the crockery. I will ask my housekeeper to check this more thoroughly. She normally checks it all, so not sure what happened on this occasion. I am also sorry you didn’t like the lounge, it is obviously not going to be everyones’ taste. If you have ideas how to make it more cosy, I would be quite happy to hear them and act upon them if appropriate. Property Owner

"Beautiful clean home."
Lovely space, and perfect layout for family or friends gatherings. Also if you want a quiet retreat it’s the perfect place! South Molton not far away if you need to pop to shops etc.
Your great comments are really appreciated…thank you, and I hope you enjoyed your stay in my home. Happy New year to you all. Kind Regards Fiona Property Owner

"This property was fantastic, well stocked kitchen equipment, and of the highest standard."
We couldn’t fathom out the heating in the upstairs bedrooms but this was not a major problem.
Hello. Thanks for your positive feedback. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to welcome you again in the future. I was sorry to hear that some of you had been ill and I hope you were all able to make it in the end. No doubt you found the instructions in the file for the upstairs heating, but I admit, the system can be complicated with air source heat pumps. I hope you managed to keep warm. Property Owner

"We had an amazing week at Tithe Barn."
This property was immaculate and extremely well presented. A delightful welcome pack on arrival and lots of special extras provided (in particular the box of things on offer for the dog). Only a couple of small changes could have improved this for us - coat hangers in the downstairs bathroom and a more detailed file on the house (where to put the bins containing recycling, which local pubs and restaurants accept dogs/recommended local walks). The maps and brochures were helpful but we only found these half way through our stay. Overall a wonderful week and a property we would reconsider booking.
Hello. Thank you so much for your feedback. . I will certainly get a coat hanger put on the bathroom door. This is an oversight which can easily be rectified. With regards to all the other information, there is an information pack in a green file in the kitchen. This contains all the information you required including where to find the maps and tourist info. I am at the property now and the file was in full view on top of the wine rack. I shall ask my housekeeper to put it on the table from now on or next to the visitors book. I hope to welcome you again to my home and am very pleased you enjoyed your time there. Kind regards, Fiona Property Owner
