"Beautiful property."
Very clean and comfortable in a good location. Would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Newport
-
"Superb stay."
Well equipped cottage - high quality finishes and fixtures. Excellent location and off street parking is a real asset in Newport, Pembs. It would be great if one of the rooms was a twin room and this would enable the cottage to attract more families. Aside from this everything was perfect.

"The property is perfect."
We stayed 2 years ago and couldn’t wait to get back. Everything is catered for, the owners clearly have great taste and appreciate quality. The location is perfect for us.

"Had a fabulous stay at Ty Owen, everything about it was spot on."
Perfect position for walking into Newport and surrounding area, particularly the estuary walk to the Parrog. Attention to detail, furnishings etc make all the difference for a lovely stay. Would definately stay again.

"A very comfortable and well equipped house and in a great location - a few minutes walk from Newport with shops, cafes and places to eat."
-
"We loved: - Please thank your cleaner for us - the property is spotless!"
- Loved the high quality appliances and kitchen equipment - Loved the garden seating area - Loved how warm the house was We would love…. - Please please PLEASE get bigger beds! Please would you get 2 singles or king size. Our sleep was the only thing that let us down. We didn’t sleep well in a small double bed.

"Superbly equipped kitchen: even sharp chefs’ knives - ideal for us enthusiastic cooks."
Whole place immaculately clean. We were there for only one week, but had we been longer, we’d have struggled with storage space for clothing. Shower was only warm: impossible to make it hot. However, these are mere niggles, which did not detract from the whole delightful experience.

"We had stayed here before so knew what to expect."
The bungalow remains very clean, well equipped and tidy. A real home from home. Just a few suggestions for improvement, one that we made previously. A queen size bed in one of the rooms would make all the difference to us. We ended up using both rooms for sleeping comfort when one would have been preferable. The internet seemed a little unpredictable while we were there and bulbs were continually flickering in the bathroom. We saw this noted in the visitors book last summer and it has clearly not been attended to. It may be just the bulbs or perhaps indicative of a more serious electrical issue. Someone needs to take a look.

"A very nice property which was in superb condition with excellent facilities."
The bungalow was immaculately presented and very clean and the welcome pack was a very nice touch. We would not hesitate in returning again in the future. David and Lesley

"Lovely property."
On hill above Newport. Not a problem if you have transport or are able to walk. Good parking, easy access. Within reach of some good walks
-
"This is a lovely property."
We really enjoy being there
-
"First class facility, very comfortable and well maintained."
Only one criticism: the rear garden is very poor, just an area that has been grass seeded that is very basic, a little landscaping and some low maintenance shrubs would really improve the character of a nice property, enhancing time spent on the patio.

"As mentioned in the visitors book, we so enjoyed our stay at Ty Owen and would have liked to stay another week."
The bungalow is so well furnished and with quality goods. The cooker, though, did present some problems in how to regulate the hotplates, but we worked it out in the end. The garden was a haven of peace where we listened to the variety of birds which frequent the area. Location is good with only a short walk down to Newport, a delightful town with local market on Mondays and several cafes. For walkers and cyclists there are always hills - either down to the Nevern estuary with a variety of sea birds, or up to the Preseli hills, which is part of its attraction. Ideal property for a relaxing break.

"Lovely bungalow and great location for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast."
We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

"Pegs at front door for wet coats ."

"A lovely bungalow, peaceful location, well equipped in a great location with excellent parking."
-
"Hi .. The only reason we didn’t give full marks was because we are both in our 70 s and found the shower very slippery and the toilet very low"
. We were grateful for the one higher chair in the lounge but could have done with another . These are not complaints but just reflect our personal experience . Had a little trouble with the postcode we were given but thankfully the Asda man was persistent . We loved the rug and Artwork .. very tasteful . In most ways an outstanding property that we would recommend .

"Lovely modern property within very small new, very quiet development."
Loved the location in beautiful Newport, being easy walk to shops, pubs and fantastic beach. Note, both beds are small doubles not King size. Also have to rely on good weather if you need to do a wash, as no dryer/radiators. Otherwise perfect!
-
"This property exceeded our expectations."
It was very well equipped and the welcome pack was generous and thoughtful- milk, bread, jam, biscuits, crisps etc. The position in the town was convenient for everything and peaceful too. Good TV package and wi-fi. We enjoyed our stay
-
"An excellent cottage which is well equipped and furnished, close to all the facilities of Newport and its beaches."
We had only one quibble, a larger bed in one of the bedrooms would have enhanced the week for us. A point to note, the wifi code in the front of the property brochure is incorrect. Luckily we could find the correct code on the back of the modem! Enjoyed our time there very much, aided and abetted by the superb weather.
-
"Lovely property, spacious, airy and light - snuggly bedding, excellent quality kitchen items and big comfy sofas."
Great parking right outside the front door. Very quiet, we all slept extremely well. Our 1 year old especially loved being able to play in the safe and secure garden. Great area for cafes and pubs too and plenty of beaches nearby. Only comments for improvement would be to add a hairdryer, put up some hooks or coat stand in hallway, and hooks in the bathroom for towels. Those points aside, we give the property 5/5, we loved our holiday and will be looking to book again!

"We found Ty Owen very comfortable with high quality facilities."
We have left some suggestions in the visitors book. As my elderly friend has walking difficulties we were surprised to find the house was up a steep hill and we had to have a taxi from the town each evening (£10 each journey!) Perhaps this location needs to be highlighted in the description of the property. Apart from that we were very happy with a beautiful house and garden in a quiet location.

"Ty Owen was a beautiful bungalow, with ample parking for 2 vehicles."
There was only one thing that needs addressing and that is the step from the patio doors. If someone who is staying there with not so good eye sight the step and patio give the illusion it is all level . My wife has macular de-generation and thought it was all level and had a tumble, she was shaken but otherwise unhurt but the step needs to be highlighted in some way for any visually impaired visitors. Apart from that we could not fault the bungalow, spacious, clean, light & airy with a nice garden to sit out in. Unfortunately we did not find Newport disabled friendly as very narrow streets most without a footpath, so for wheelchair users or mobility scooters it was not ideal. But we still enjoyed our stay at Ty Owen as we travelled to the Botanical Gardens, Tenby, St. David’s and White Sands. The bungalow was so comfortable we just stayed in, relaxed and read a book for 2 days as the weather was over cast and looked like rain, this was no hardship as everything you need is provided. Have to say the kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc. was of top notch quality , clearly the owner has thought of everything, also the welcome pack was a nice touch.

"The property was very new and immaculate throughout."
Since it was new, there were some minor aspects that could have been improved upon - washing line/drier in the garden, mirror extra to the only one in the bathroom, more drawer space in the second bedroom. Being a managed property, from a customer point of view it was frustrating not to be able to contact the owners directly, as we have done where necessary with previous properties

"This is by far the most well equipped properties we’ve stayed in (and we’ve stayed in many."
) The furnishings were stunning, from the kitchen appliances to the sofas—everything was of high quality and of beautiful taste. The location is wonderful with so many walks on your doorstep and incredible beaches too. Enjoy!

"We had the most wonderful stay at Ty Owen."
We were unaware when we arrived that it was a complete new build. The property blew us away! Absolutely everything was brand-new. The facilities/equipment were all high end and the owners had thought of absolutely everything. The property is in a perfect location for amenities in Newport, shops and pubs. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach and coastal path which is absolutely stunning. Newport is in ideal location for exploring nearby towns and villages of Pembrokeshire. Spot-on for what we were after! As regular uses of Sykes cottages, this holiday lived up to one of the best! Thanks for a great visit. Will be back and will most definitely recommend!
