  • "From the minute we arrived at Dolly we were enchanted."

The weather was not good all week however we were there to relax. Dolly had everything required to acheive this. The woodburner made the van warm and cosy and the inital supply of logs was most welcome we had also brought our own. Books and games are supplied too. The kitchen is well equipped and on arrival it was a nice surprise to find a complementary fine selection of local goodies and treats for our bedlington terrier Barney. The bed was so comfortable and the linen sheets and duvet cover were delightful. The bathroom is in a seperate building a few steps outside but dont let that put you off, it was warm, clean, and modern . On days when it is dry there is a private sitting out area and a ring to tether hounds to as this is a farming area. The owners were welcoming and responsive. Dolly is set down a quite county lane with ample parking available. A half mile walk along the main road will find you at a local pub which brews beer and makes excellent pizza. Just a 3 mile stride to the coast gives you another pleasant walk, again with a pub to supply refreshments. On the one dry day we went to New Quay, a short drive away and we were rewarded with the sight of dolphins playing just off the harbour, which was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this accommodation for comfort, location and the effort the owners put in to make guests feel relaxed and welcome. Helen , Alwyn and Barney Bedlington

Thank you so much for your lovely review and I am so pleased you and Barney enjoyed your holiday with us. New Quay seems a very reliable spot to see Dolphins and we were very lucky to see them again ourselves during a visit this week. Kind regards Michelle Property Owner

  • "On arrival we were surprised to find that the toilet, etc."

,was outside. Having looked back at the wording and photos, we can find nothing to advise us that this would be the case. We feel that this should be made clear in the information provided. We expected the television to have all the usual terrestrial channels, so were disappointed that BBC1 and BBC2 were not available. Liked Dolly’s character and quirkiness. Although weather wasn’t perfect it was lovely to have the outside seating area on raised decking, watching the horses in the field opposite. Peaceful area but near enough to walk to the local pub.

Thank you for this review and the lovely comments you left in the visitors book. I am sorry you didn't realise the bathroom was seperate. You are the first and only guests to provide that feedback so thank you for highlighting & Sykes have stregthened the written description. I'm pleased to say Dolly's recieving BBC1 and BBC2 again. I'm so glad you enjoyed the outside space and we too enjoy the walk to the local pub for food or a drink on the outside veranda. Kind regards Michelle Property Owner

  • "Absolutely outstanding!"

Cannot praise the presentation of this quirky venue enough. Yes it is small and given the steps and adjacent (but beautiful ) bathroom you need to be reasonably agile but everything has been thought out perfectly. Have never seen a better prepared guest information folder could serve as example of how to do it for new Sykes owners. Wonderful welcome pack and a delight to see that owners very into recycling. The EV charger onsite was a lovely bonus. Peaceful location but only a couple of miles from nearest beach and beautiful part of Wales. Realistic attitude to dogs with spare blankets and bowls if you have forgotten anything. Loved every minute

Thank you for your review. So glad you enjoyed your holiday. Really appreciate the lovely feedback, we've tried hard to provide what we would like to see when we go away on holiday. It was a delight to have you stay with us. Kind regards, Michelle Property Owner

  • "Dolly was far more comfortable than we expected and imagined considering it is a wagon."

It is very quaint and unusual that is what attracted us to it, the log fire makes very cosy and warm . The kitchen is adequately equipped and what was also lovely is that the hosts provided us with a welcome pack. Overall it was a very enjoyable holiday.

Thank you for your review, we are really glad you enjoyed your holiday. The space inside Dolly comes as a surprise to a lot of people. Hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner
