Very comfortable, clean and most important to us, our 2 dogs were safe in the fully enclosed, fenced garden. A very quiet and peaceful spot to stay. I would definitely recommend a stay in this cottage.

  • "The hosts were very accommodating and tried to ensure that our stay was enjoyable, however we found the accommodation somewhat dated and much too small for our needs ( this probably our own fault for not enquiring further)."

The photographs in the listing presumably were taken with a wide angle lens and make the rooms appear much larger than they actually are, the kitchen/living room is very cramped and the bathroom felt dated. The lane leading to the listing is full of very large potholes and we are just glad of the choice of vehicles for this trip, I would not have liked taking my saloon through that obstacle course. The local pub, the Fox and Hounds was a mixed bag, good meal the first visit, one hour wait for food and an inedible steak the second visit, however locals and staff were extremely friendly. This cottage will be ideal for some, great central location for visits to beaches, Carmarthen and even Brecon Beacons , but we needed something a little larger, maybe a little newer (again our fault) and warning of worn out lane would be helpful.

Property ad described, great location for lots of attractions. Garden was safe, only down side was no dog walks from the door, although hosts provide maps of what looks like a fab walk, the footbridge was impossible (not hosts reaponsibility) so couldn't make use. Had to go for a car ride to safely run the dog .. although was offered use of host large garden

The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable with patio doors opening up onto an enclosed garden area with seating. We had such a wonderful time that we have booked to stay here again next year. The hosts Sylvia and Bruce were welcoming and friendly but not at all intrusive and on hand for anything we needed. This is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed, our dogs had the best time and were allowed into the hosts garden to play with the family dogs. Thank you Sylvia, Bruce, Bingo, Finlay, Buffy & the adorable Buddy for the most relaxing holiday we have had for a long time- see you next year!

The heating system is easy to use if you go in the colder months , the only thing i would say and a few other reviews have stated is that a slightly bigger sofa would make it perfect . You struggle to get 2 people on the sofa the wet room is fantastic and shower is powerful and nice and hot . Bancyfelin village is beautiful and so is st clears . The village of Bancyfelin is set in beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and with easy access off the main A40 road to West Wales. The village shop with Post Office is well stocked for all essentials and there's also a family-run pub. Traffic is usually limited to people living in or visiting this scattered village but a few times a year there are busy days when the local Grasstrack Club hold their race meetings, offering a great day out and something a bit different. Located mid way between St. Clears and Carmarthen it's a perfect base for varied shopping and visits to the cinema, Merlin’s Centre and a steam railway ride. A day or evening at the horse racing at Ffos Las where races are held all year are great fun or why not enjoy the magnificent Welsh coastline, offering stunning views of the area. With theme parks, zoos, an array of golf courses and intriguing castles, mills and craft centres in each direction this is a wonderful base for a perfect holiday.
