  • "Amazing location with great views and very quiet & picturesque"

  • "The location of the cottage (remote and quiet) was suburb, with views to match (much of the time)."

Being able to walk from the property onto the moors was great. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and well equipped. The owner was very quick to respond when we had an issue with the TV. Highly recommended.

  • "Second visit to the property."

We love the location, and had a good holiday but unfortunately we found the cleanliness of the cottage was not as before. I leave these as constructive comments for Tim and Ruth: - The doors/handles felt sticky/greasy. - The oven temperature was not controllable. Any temperature below 200 was way off the mark - needs a new thermostat. Try it..put it on 180 and see what happens.. took 2.5 hours to cook a chicken.. - The shower in the ensuite needs changing - really tired and mould/plaster falling off round the outside bottom of tray - The curtains in the lounge and front bedrooms are missing curtain rings and they therefore do not close properly - The wall lights in the lounge are missing bulbs - non available to replace - Mattresses in both double beds are tired..they are no longer supportive - The welcome book is old/out of date and dirty - Fridge shelves in door are missing / broken I just feel after 6 years renting the property its perhaps time to replace and spruce up... As I say I offer the above as helpful comments, I feel sure customers may feel the same, but not take the time to feed back.. Kind regards

  • "The property is spacious, in a lovely remote area of the countryside."

Some local market towns close by with some nice walking routes on your doorstep. The property itself has everything you'd need for a family of 4-6 but anymore would be cramped. The house is a bit 'tired' and could do with a few modern upgrades if housing a younger family. Upon entering each upstairs room was swarming with flies which wasn't ideal. The boiler in the garage makes a lot of of a noise at night so pretty difficult to sleep if you're staying directly above it in the bunk room. Also didn't appreciate the cleaners wake up call calling me at 7am on the check out day just to see if they could come earlier than the agreed 10am time. All in all a 5/10 but a few changes could easily of been nicer.

Amazed at the walks from the door but with a lame dog we were sadly limited with our walks. The bonus was having a field in front of the cottage where we could exercise our dog. We had a nice relaxing break and am hoping to return to explore the area. Thank you Tim and Ruth.

Uninterrupted views, and plenty of walks from the door. Fully dog friendly, clean and well equipped. The cottage is enclosed around property, so dogs are secure. Everything on hand for a super holiday. We loved it so much we have booked again for next year! We contacted Tim the owner as we needed a frying pan, and he popped round the next day with two new ones, and also a hose to clean the dogs with after our day walks. 5* to Tim and Ruth on creating a haven for frazzled customers!

  • "Lovely property in a beautiful location."

Plenty of space and everything we needed to get away for a few days and would definitely like to stay here again at some point. Only minor gripes were a few dirty plates in the kitchen draw, a bit of mould below the en-suite shower, a few stiff locks, and the outside light at the front not working. Nothing to inconvenience us or put us off returning though.

The house was warm and cosy and perfect for the 7 of us and our 2 dogs. Everything we needed was included such as towels, bedding, tea, sugar coffee ect. Tim was incredible in supporting us through the snow and breakdown of our truck. Without his support alone we would of never been able to get back to our home. His generosity and care alone made our trip to wales beyond worthwhile, which made us feel more at home then anywhere else we’ve stayed. The house has the most beautiful views and perfect escape for the dogs, on lead or off lead especially for dogs who need lots of run around room. Everyone within my family had everything they needed and we couldn’t of wished for a better holiday. Could not recommend Tim and his home enough.

A bit of a tight squeeze up the road leading to the property, so go carefully! The living space was really comfortable as were the bedrooms. I think the property is better than the photos show. Even in the kitchen, there was plenty of room for everyone because of the open plan style. One of the best properties we’ve stayed in. The only things that might need attention are the toilet seats which were coming loose, I would have liked a few more pots and pans and the metal gate was broken which would have kept the front garden enclosed. Needless to say we would still love to return, hopefully with a full party as, sadly, some couldn’t make it last minute .

We had a wonderful week in the countryside of Wales despite the weather we managed to go for walks in the area and mountain bike rides a bit further up the hills. The cottage was comfortable and roomy, with little extras like toys for my toddler and plenty of wood for the cozy nights in. Comes with a baby gate for the stairs, high chair and travel cot if needed also. The swing and slide were also a brilliant addition. The whole cottage was clean and modern, with sheep, cows and deer right outside your window. We also saw plenty of red kite birds everyday. The locals are friendly and helpful, and the local supermarkets around 25-30 mins drive. We highly reccomend visiting Elan Valley and Hay-On-Wye for lots of coffee and cake! We will miss our retreat from the world and it has been a pleasure to stay here.

  • "Blaen Henllan is a lovely comfortable house in a beautiful location with fantastic views."

The space that the house offers is excellent for 5 adults, 2 children and 2 Westies; the sitting room and the beds were all very comfortable and the house was very clean. The enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 dogs who were fascinated by the sheep in the adjacent field and there is plenty of opportunity for walking directly from the house. The house could be improved by: a proper shower in the bathroom - there's a shower over the bath but no screen and the only enclosed shower is in the en suite shower room which wasn't really adequate for so many of us; a couple of large casserole type dishes would have been useful, too.

Thank you for providing a review on your stay at our property. We are so happy to hear you enjoy the property and the location, we try our utmost best to ensure guests have a nice holiday at Blaen Henllan. We appreciate your feedback in regards to the shower, we show this accurately in the property pictures to ensure guests are aware before booking. Property Owner

Two things we would recommend: advise dog owners to ensure tick treatment is up to date if they plan on going walking; improve the directions as they don't really reflect the reality. Perhaps ask the owners to write a better description.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Blaen Henllan and look forward to seeing you again. We would certainly recommend all dog owners ensure their pets are up to date with the treatments, as the property is in a rural area this may not be the same setting as some pets are accustomed to. We have looked over the directions given to customers and have not seen any previous comments about this. Property Owner

Pure luxury and comfort in everything you see and touch. It looks even better in real life than on the pictures. Great location. Very well equipped, and super clean, looked almost brand new. Friendly owners. Plenty of space for a group of 8 people to sleep, eat and play board games There was also plenty of space for our dog to run around safely (although he could easily jump over the fence a few times; this was OK since there were no lambs around during our stay). I'm glad the cottage had a TV that we used to watch the World Cup. I liked that the cottage was located far from any neighbours so we didn't disturb anyone and nobody disturbed us. Overall I would rate this cottage 10 out of 10. We all had an amazing time both adults and kids and even our dog. I really look forward to coming back there.
