Location is beautiful and we appreciated the guest information book - we took lots of advice from there and had some great days out. There was a slight issue with the washing machine leaking, but our hosts were available to help immediately. They made some adjustments and it seemed to work fine after that.

Lovely cosy, comfy clean beds and great having a washer/dryer, dishwasher and big freezer, not just an ice box in the top of the fridge. The only thing that would be nice perhaps a place to play music in the kitchen. This was our 2nd visit and would definitely return again. Very nice accommodation. Home from home. The hosts were also very kind and friendly and were at hand if anything was needed - thank you. We experienced terrible weather due an on-coming storm, but as The Granary was such a nice place to be, we really didn't mind. When you feel bad returning the keys, you know that you were in a nice place. Hope to come back some time soon.

The cottage is beautiful, extremely comfortable and cosy, and is well equipped with quality products and everything you might need for a self-catering holiday. The surroundings are stunning, and the location is excellent to travel into Wales, but we were also very happy to stay nearby as there were loads of lovely walks in the local area. The owners are welcoming but do not intrude. We have had a wonderful holiday at this cottage and would love to stay again.

The eggs were a lovely touch, coffee tea and sugar were also provided which was nice. ( However we could have done with salt and pepper though). There was no pen to fill out the guest book so we couldn't leave any comments but we would have written, WILL COME AGAIN!

Lovely comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen.I think it is probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.We knew our holiday this year was going to be different because of COVID restrictions but we felt all precautions were taken. On holiday we would usually eat out a lot but this time we cooked our evening meals so really appreciated the well thought out kitchen. As our evenings were spent indoors the comfortable sitting room and TV were much appreciated. In the description it was mentioned that WiFi was not always available and mobile phone coverage was patchy. This was true although we were able to access the WiFi at some point every morning or evening which was when we were in.It definitely didn’t spoil our holiday. The owners have made this cottage a very standard.

  • "A wonderful place to stay."

A tonic after the last few months. So relaxing with a wealth of character. Nice comfortable bed and large lounge area. Lovely gardens to chill out in. One word of warning- We were lucky in a way that the family staying in the cottage next door stayed in or you would not have had much privacy outside. Would be perfect for 2 families staying together. Country walks from the door and a couple of nice pubs within striking distance. Super easy parking. The only real niggle was that the washing machine was in a shared outbuilding. This was not made clear on the details (which was maybe a good thing or I might not have booked!). There seemed plenty of space in the big kitchen for a washer/drier. No phone signal and the wi-fi signal is very patchy but the details do warn about this.

  • "The Granary is a tastefully presented, extremely comfortable and a well appointed property."

You have everything required for a relaxing stay and the beautifully landscaped garden area Is a real bonus for those summer evenings! The accommodation is quite deceptive in size and in my opinion I don’t think the pictures online actually do it justice! The bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! All measures had clearly been taken regarding hygiene etc following government guidelines (boring to mention but good to know!). As Little Quebb cottages where the property is situated is a small holding there are naturally a few farm animals, which is great for kids. Whilst the enclosures are secure the distance from the property is not vast which is why dogs are to be kept on leads at all times on site. Whilst my own dogs were not distracted/taken by the sheep etc owners with pets who may have a ‘high prey drive’ would need to be aware. The location is ideally situated for those either looking for peace and quiet or exploring far and wide, we took in the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons. We have stayed in a considerable number of properties right across the country and The Granary is comparable to the best of those, in other words highly recommended!

  • "A relaxing couple of nights away which was a real post lockdown treat!"

Beds were comfy, rooms spacious, kitchen well equipped and garden/outdoor space a real bonus. One gripe is the additional cost incurred to me by going through HomeAway. I ended up paying what was described as a ‘finder’s fee’ in addition to what Sykes charge for the cottage. I think if Sykes use other websites to list their properties then they should cover the cost.

  • "Cottage is excellent and very spacious, kitchen is well equipped, and there is a freezer should you need it."

Once the wood burner is lit it gets very warm and toasty. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, in a cottage. Surrounding villages are interesting and welcoming and there are some good walks, if you have the weather. There is a DVD/Blu-ray player, though we couldn't see it in the listing. NB wi-fi is adequate for emails, websites at certain times but not for downloading media/films etc so our Amazon Firebox was redundant.
